Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'ashsi֥yta mizebּe֖cha miqeta֣r qeto֑ret 'atze֥y shshitּi֖ym tּa'ashse֥h 'otֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Make an altar of acacia wood for burning incense."

וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ מִזְבֵּ֖חַ מִקְטַ֣ר קְטֹ֑רֶת עֲצֵ֥י שִׁטִּ֖ים תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֹתֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): amּa֨h 'arekּ֜o ve'amּa֤h rachebּo֙ rab֣u'a yiheye֔h ve'amּata֖yim qomat֑o mimּe֖nּu qarenotaֽyv׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high, its horns of one piece with it."

אַמָּ֨ה אָרְכּ֜וֹ וְאַמָּ֤ה רָחְבּוֹ֙ רָב֣וּעַ יִהְיֶ֔ה וְאַמָּתַ֖יִם קֹמָת֑וֹ מִמֶּ֖נּוּ קַרְנֹתָֽיו׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vetzipּiyta֨ 'ot֜o zaha֣b tah֗or 'et-gּagּ֧o ve'et-qiyrota֛yv sabi֖yb ve'et-qarenota֑yv ve'ashsi֥yta lּ֛o ze֥r zaha֖b sabiֽyb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold moulding around it."

וְצִפִּיתָ֨ אֹת֜וֹ זָהָ֣ב טָה֗וֹר אֶת־גַּגּ֧וֹ וְאֶת־קִירֹתָ֛יו סָבִ֖יב וְאֶת־קַרְנֹתָ֑יו וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ לּ֛וֹ זֵ֥ר זָהָ֖ב סָבִֽיב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ushshetּey֩ tabּe'o֨t zaha֜b tּaֽ'ashseh-lּ֣o ׀ mitּa֣chat lezer֗o 'a֚l shshetּe֣y tzale'ota֔yv tּa'ashse֖h 'al-shshene֣y tzidּa֑yv vehayah֙ lebatּi֣ym lebadּi֔ym lashse֥'t 'ot֖o bּaheֽmּah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Make two gold rings for the altar below the moulding, two on each of the opposite sides, to hold the poles used to carry it."

וּשְׁתֵּי֩ טַבְּעֹ֨ת זָהָ֜ב תַּֽעֲשֶׂה־לּ֣וֹ ׀ מִתַּ֣חַת לְזֵר֗וֹ עַ֚ל שְׁתֵּ֣י צַלְעֹתָ֔יו תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה עַל־שְׁנֵ֣י צִדָּ֑יו וְהָיָה֙ לְבָתִּ֣ים לְבַדִּ֔ים לָשֵׂ֥את אֹת֖וֹ בָּהֵֽמָּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'ashsi֥yta 'et-habּadּi֖ym 'atze֣y shshitּi֑ym vetzipּiyta֥ 'ota֖m zahaֽb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold."

וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ אֶת־הַבַּדִּ֖ים עֲצֵ֣י שִׁטִּ֑ים וְצִפִּיתָ֥ אֹתָ֖ם זָהָֽב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): venatatּa֤h 'oto֙ lipene֣y hapּaro֔ket 'ashshe֖r 'al-'aro֣n ha'edu֑t lipene֣y hakּapּo֗ret 'ashsher֙ 'al-ha֣'edu֔t 'ashshe֛r 'iua'e֥d leka֖ shshaֽmּah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, before the atonement cover that is over the tablets of the covenant law, where I will meet with you."

וְנָתַתָּ֤ה אֹתוֹ֙ לִפְנֵ֣י הַפָּרֹ֔כֶת אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־אֲרֹ֣ן הָעֵדֻ֑ת לִפְנֵ֣י הַכַּפֹּ֗רֶת אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל־הָ֣עֵדֻ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֛ר אִוָּעֵ֥ד לְךָ֖ שָֽׁמָּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehiqeti֥yr 'ala֛yv 'aharo֖n qeto֣ret samּi֑ym bּabּo֣qer bּabּo֗qer bּeheytiyb֛o 'et-hanּero֖t yaqetiyreֽnּah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Aaron must burn fragrant incense on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps."

וְהִקְטִ֥יר עָלָ֛יו אַהֲרֹ֖ן קְטֹ֣רֶת סַמִּ֑ים בַּבֹּ֣קֶר בַּבֹּ֗קֶר בְּהֵיטִיב֛וֹ אֶת־הַנֵּרֹ֖ת יַקְטִירֶֽנָּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ubeha'alo֨t 'aharo֧n 'et-hanּero֛t bּe֥yn ha'arebּa֖yim yaqetiyre֑nּah qeto֧ret tּami֛yd lipene֥y yehva֖h ledoroteykeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the LORD for the generations to come."

וּבְהַעֲלֹ֨ת אַהֲרֹ֧ן אֶת־הַנֵּרֹ֛ת בֵּ֥ין הָעֲרְבַּ֖יִם יַקְטִירֶ֑נָּה קְטֹ֧רֶת תָּמִ֛יד לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): lo'-ta'al֥u 'ala֛yv qeto֥ret zara֖h ve'ola֣h uminecha֑h vene֕seke lo֥ tisּek֖u 'alaֽyv׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Do not offer on this altar any other incense or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it."

לֹא־תַעֲל֥וּ עָלָ֛יו קְטֹ֥רֶת זָרָ֖ה וְעֹלָ֣ה וּמִנְחָ֑ה וְנֵ֕סֶךְ לֹ֥א תִסְּכ֖וּ עָלָֽיו׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vekipּe֤r 'aharon֙ 'al-qarenota֔yv 'acha֖t bּashshּana֑h midּa֞m chatּa֣'t hakּipּuri֗ym 'acha֤t bּashshּanah֙ yekapּe֤r 'alayv֙ ledoro֣teyke֔m qoֽdeshsh-qֽadashshi֥ym h֖u layhvaֽh׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)"Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering for the generations to come. It is most holy to the LORD."

וְכִפֶּ֤ר אַהֲרֹן֙ עַל־קַרְנֹתָ֔יו אַחַ֖ת בַּשָּׁנָ֑ה מִדַּ֞ם חַטַּ֣את הַכִּפֻּרִ֗ים אַחַ֤ת בַּשָּׁנָה֙ יְכַפֵּ֤ר עָלָיו֙ לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם קֹֽדֶשׁ־קָֽדָשִׁ֥ים ה֖וּא לַיהוָֽה׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r yehva֖h 'el-moshshe֥h lּe'moֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֣y tishsּa֞ 'et-ro֥'shsh bּenֽey-yishsera'e֘l lipequdeyhem֒ vena֨ten֜u 'i֣yshsh kּo֧per napeshsh֛o layhva֖h bּipeqo֣d 'ota֑m velo'-yiheye֥h bahe֛m ne֖gep bּipeqo֥d 'otaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them."

כִּ֣י תִשָּׂ֞א אֶת־רֹ֥אשׁ בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֘ל לִפְקֻדֵיהֶם֒ וְנָ֨תְנ֜וּ אִ֣ישׁ כֹּ֧פֶר נַפְשׁ֛וֹ לַיהוָ֖ה בִּפְקֹ֣ד אֹתָ֑ם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה בָהֶ֛ם נֶ֖גֶף בִּפְקֹ֥ד אֹתָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ze֣h ׀ yitּen֗u kּal-ha'ober֙ 'al-hapּequdi֔ym machatzi֥yt hashshּe֖qel bּeshshe֣qel haqּo֑deshsh 'eshseri֤ym gּerah֙ hashshּe֔qel machatzi֣yt hashshּe֔qel tּeruma֖h lֽayhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD."

זֶ֣ה ׀ יִתְּנ֗וּ כָּל־הָעֹבֵר֙ עַל־הַפְּקֻדִ֔ים מַחֲצִ֥ית הַשֶּׁ֖קֶל בְּשֶׁ֣קֶל הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים גֵּרָה֙ הַשֶּׁ֔קֶל מַחֲצִ֣ית הַשֶּׁ֔קֶל תְּרוּמָ֖ה לַֽיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֗l ha'ober֙ 'al-hapּequdi֔ym mibּe֛n 'eshseri֥ym shshana֖h vama֑'elah yitּe֖n tּeruma֥t yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD."

כֹּ֗ל הָעֹבֵר֙ עַל־הַפְּקֻדִ֔ים מִבֶּ֛ן עֶשְׂרִ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה וָמָ֑עְלָה יִתֵּ֖ן תְּרוּמַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): heֽ'ashshi֣yr loֽ'-yarebּe֗h vehadּal֙ lo֣ yame'i֔yt miֽmּachatzi֖yt hashshּa֑qel latet֙ 'et-tּeruma֣t yehva֔h lekapּe֖r 'al-napeshshoteykeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives."

הֶֽעָשִׁ֣יר לֹֽא־יַרְבֶּ֗ה וְהַדַּל֙ לֹ֣א יַמְעִ֔יט מִֽמַּחֲצִ֖ית הַשָּׁ֑קֶל לָתֵת֙ אֶת־תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה לְכַפֵּ֖ר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): velaqachetּa֞ 'et-kּe֣sep hakּipּuri֗ym me'et֙ bּene֣y yishsera'e֔l venatatּa֣ 'ot֔o 'al-'aboda֖t 'o֣hel mo'e֑d vehayah֩ libene֨y yishsera'e֤l lezikּaron֙ lipene֣y yehva֔h lekapּe֖r 'al-napeshshoteykeֽm׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)"Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD, making atonement for your lives."

וְלָקַחְתָּ֞ אֶת־כֶּ֣סֶף הַכִּפֻּרִ֗ים מֵאֵת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְנָתַתָּ֣ אֹת֔וֹ עַל־עֲבֹדַ֖ת אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְהָיָה֩ לִבְנֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל לְזִכָּרוֹן֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה לְכַפֵּ֖ר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶֽם׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r yehva֖h 'el-moshshe֥h lּe'moֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'ashsi֜yta kּiyּ֥or necho֛shshet vekanּ֥o necho֖shshet lerachetza֑h venatatּa֣ 'ot֗o bּeֽyn-'o֤hel mo'ed֙ ube֣yn hamּizebּe֔cha venatatּa֥ shsha֖mּah maֽyim׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it."

וְעָשִׂ֜יתָ כִּיּ֥וֹר נְחֹ֛שֶׁת וְכַנּ֥וֹ נְחֹ֖שֶׁת לְרָחְצָ֑ה וְנָתַתָּ֣ אֹת֗וֹ בֵּֽין־אֹ֤הֶל מוֹעֵד֙ וּבֵ֣ין הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ וְנָתַתָּ֥ שָׁ֖מָּה מָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): verachatz֛u 'aharo֥n ubana֖yv mimּe֑nּu 'et-yedeyhe֖m ve'et-rageleyheֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it."

וְרָחֲצ֛וּ אַהֲרֹ֥ן וּבָנָ֖יו מִמֶּ֑נּוּ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֖ם וְאֶת־רַגְלֵיהֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּebo'a֞m 'el-'o֧hel mo'e֛d yirechatzu-ma֖yim velo֣ yamu֑tu '֣o begishshetּa֤m 'el-hamּizebּe֨cha֙ leshshare֔t lehaqeti֥yr 'ishshּe֖h laֽyhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the LORD,"

בְּבֹאָ֞ם אֶל־אֹ֧הֶל מוֹעֵ֛ד יִרְחֲצוּ־מַ֖יִם וְלֹ֣א יָמֻ֑תוּ א֣וֹ בְגִשְׁתָּ֤ם אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ לְשָׁרֵ֔ת לְהַקְטִ֥יר אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַֽיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): verachatz֛u yedeyhe֥m verageleyhe֖m velo֣ yamu֑tu vehayeta֨h lahe֧m chaq-'ola֛m l֥o ulezare'֖o ledorotaֽm׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)"they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come."

וְרָחֲצ֛וּ יְדֵיהֶ֥ם וְרַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם וְלֹ֣א יָמֻ֑תוּ וְהָיְתָ֨ה לָהֶ֧ם חָק־עוֹלָ֛ם ל֥וֹ וּלְזַרְע֖וֹ לְדֹרֹתָֽם׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r yehva֖h 'el-moshshe֥h lּe'moֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'atּa֣h qach-leka֮ bּeshsami֣ym ro'shsh֒ mar-dּeror֙ chame֣shsh me'֔ot veqinּeman-bּe֥shsem machatziyt֖o chamishshּi֣ym uma'ta֑yim uqeneh-bo֖shsem chamishshּi֥ym uma'taֽyim׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant calamus,"

וְאַתָּ֣ה קַח־לְךָ֮ בְּשָׂמִ֣ים רֹאשׁ֒ מָר־דְּרוֹר֙ חֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֔וֹת וְקִנְּמָן־בֶּ֥שֶׂם מַחֲצִית֖וֹ חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים וּמָאתָ֑יִם וּקְנֵה־בֹ֖שֶׂם חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וּמָאתָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veqidּa֕h chame֥shsh me'֖ot bּeshshe֣qel haqּo֑deshsh veshshe֥men za֖yit hiֽyn׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"500 shekels of cassia, all according to the sanctuary shekel, and a hin of olive oil."

וְקִדָּ֕ה חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת בְּשֶׁ֣קֶל הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ וְשֶׁ֥מֶן זַ֖יִת הִֽין׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'ashsi֣yta 'ot֗o shshe֚men mishshechat-qo֔deshsh ro֥qach mireqa֖chat ma'ashse֣h roqe֑cha shshe֥men mishshechat-qo֖deshsh yiheyeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Make these into a [1] (sacred anointing oil), a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the [1]."

וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ אֹת֗וֹ שֶׁ֚מֶן מִשְׁחַת־קֹ֔דֶשׁ רֹ֥קַח מִרְקַ֖חַת מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה רֹקֵ֑חַ שֶׁ֥מֶן מִשְׁחַת־קֹ֖דֶשׁ יִהְיֶֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umashshachetּa֥ b֖o 'et-'o֣hel mo'e֑d ve'e֖t 'ar֥on ha'eduֽt׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Then use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law,"

וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֥ ב֖וֹ אֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְאֵ֖ת אֲר֥וֹן הָעֵדֻֽת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-hashshּulechan֙ ve'et-kּal-kּela֔yv ve'et-hamּenora֖h ve'et-kּele֑yha ve'e֖t mizebּa֥ch haqּetoֽret׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense,"

וְאֶת־הַשֻּׁלְחָן֙ וְאֶת־כָּל־כֵּלָ֔יו וְאֶת־הַמְּנֹרָ֖ה וְאֶת־כֵּלֶ֑יהָ וְאֵ֖ת מִזְבַּ֥ח הַקְּטֹֽרֶת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-mizebּa֥ch ha'ola֖h ve'et-kּal-kּela֑yv ve'et-hakּiyּo֖r ve'et-kּanּֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand."

וְאֶת־מִזְבַּ֥ח הָעֹלָ֖ה וְאֶת־כָּל־כֵּלָ֑יו וְאֶת־הַכִּיֹּ֖ר וְאֶת־כַּנּֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veqidּashshetּa֣ 'ota֔m vehay֖u qo֣deshsh qֽadashshi֑ym kּal-hanּoge֥'a bּahe֖m yiqedּaֽshsh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy."

וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֣ אֹתָ֔ם וְהָי֖וּ קֹ֣דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֑ים כָּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהֶ֖ם יִקְדָּֽשׁ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-'aharo֥n ve'et-bּana֖yv tּimeshsha֑ch veqidּashshetּa֥ 'ota֖m lekahe֥n liֽy׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests."

וְאֶת־אַהֲרֹ֥ן וְאֶת־בָּנָ֖יו תִּמְשָׁ֑ח וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ אֹתָ֖ם לְכַהֵ֥ן לִֽי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'el-bּene֥y yishsera'e֖l tּedabּe֣r le'mo֑r shshe֠men mishshechat-qo֨deshsh yiheye֥h ze֛h li֖y ledoroteykeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Say to the Israelites, 'This is to be my [1] for the generations to come.'"

וְאֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל תְּדַבֵּ֣ר לֵאמֹ֑ר שֶׁ֠מֶן מִשְׁחַת־קֹ֨דֶשׁ יִהְיֶ֥ה זֶ֛ה לִ֖י לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): al-bּeshsa֤r 'adam֙ lo֣ yiysa֔ke ubema֨tekּunetּ֔o lo֥ ta'ashs֖u kּamo֑hu qo֣deshsh h֔u qo֖deshsh yiheye֥h lakeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"'Do not pour it on anyone else's body and do not make any other oil using the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred.'"

עַל־בְּשַׂ֤ר אָדָם֙ לֹ֣א יִיסָ֔ךְ וּבְמַ֨תְכֻּנְתּ֔וֹ לֹ֥א תַעֲשׂ֖וּ כָּמֹ֑הוּ קֹ֣דֶשׁ ה֔וּא קֹ֖דֶשׁ יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): i֚yshsh 'ashshe֣r yireqa֣ch kּamo֔hu va'ashshe֥r yitּe֛n mimּe֖nּu 'al-za֑r venikera֖t me'amּaֽyv׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"'Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from their people.'"

אִ֚ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִרְקַ֣ח כָּמֹ֔הוּ וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר יִתֵּ֛ן מִמֶּ֖נּוּ עַל־זָ֑ר וְנִכְרַ֖ת מֵעַמָּֽיו׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo'mer֩ yehva֨h 'el-moshshe֜h qach-leka֣ samּi֗ym nata֤p ׀ ushsheche֨let֙ vechelebּena֔h samּi֖ym ulebona֣h zakּa֑h bּa֥d bּeba֖d yiheyeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take fragrant spices, gum resin, onycha and galbanum, and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts,"

וַיֹּאמֶר֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֜ה קַח־לְךָ֣ סַמִּ֗ים נָטָ֤ף ׀ וּשְׁחֵ֨לֶת֙ וְחֶלְבְּנָ֔ה סַמִּ֖ים וּלְבֹנָ֣ה זַכָּ֑ה בַּ֥ד בְּבַ֖ד יִהְיֶֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'ashsi֤yta 'otahּ֙ qeto֔ret ro֖qach ma'ashse֣h roqe֑cha memulּa֖ch tah֥or qoֽdeshsh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"and make a fragrant blend of [2] (incense), the work of a perfumer. It is to be salted and pure and sacred."

וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ אֹתָהּ֙ קְטֹ֔רֶת רֹ֖קַח מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה רוֹקֵ֑חַ מְמֻלָּ֖ח טָה֥וֹר קֹֽדֶשׁ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veshshaֽchaqetּa֣ mimּenּah֮ hadeq֒ venatatּa֨h mimּe֜nּah lipene֤y ha'edut֙ bּe'o֣hel mo'e֔d 'ashshe֛r 'iua'e֥d leka֖ shsha֑mּah qo֥deshsh qֽadashshi֖ym tּiheye֥h lakeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you."

וְשָֽׁחַקְתָּ֣ מִמֶּנָּה֮ הָדֵק֒ וְנָתַתָּ֨ה מִמֶּ֜נָּה לִפְנֵ֤י הָעֵדֻת֙ בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֛ר אִוָּעֵ֥ד לְךָ֖ שָׁ֑מָּה קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים תִּהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehaqּeto֨ret֙ 'ashshe֣r tּa'ashse֔h bּema֨tekּunetּa֔hּ lo֥ ta'ashs֖u lake֑m qo֛deshsh tּiheye֥h leka֖ layhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Do not make any incense with this formula for yourselves; consider it holy to the LORD."

וְהַקְּטֹ֨רֶת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה בְּמַ֨תְכֻּנְתָּ֔הּ לֹ֥א תַעֲשׂ֖וּ לָכֶ֑ם קֹ֛דֶשׁ תִּהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֖ לַיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): i֛yshsh 'ashsher-ya'ashse֥h kam֖oha lehari֣ycha bּa֑hּ venikera֖t me'amּaֽyv׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"Whoever makes incense like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off from their people."

אִ֛ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה כָמ֖וֹהָ לְהָרִ֣יחַ בָּ֑הּ וְנִכְרַ֖ת מֵעַמָּֽיו׃ס
