Chapter 45

Phonetic (Hebrew): ubehapּiֽyleke֨m 'et-ha'a֜retz bּenachala֗h tּariymu֩ teruma֨h layhva֥h ׀ qodeshsh֮ min-ha'aretz֒ 'o֗reke chamishshּa֨h ve'eshseri֥ym 'e֨lep֙ 'o֔reke vero֖chab 'ashsa֣rah 'a֑lep qodeshsh-h֥u bekal-gּebula֖hּ sabiֽyb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moreover, when you shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, you shall offer an oblation to the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.

וּבְהַפִּֽילְכֶ֨ם אֶת־הָאָ֜רֶץ בְּנַחֲלָ֗ה תָּרִימוּ֩ תְרוּמָ֨ה לַיהוָ֥ה ׀ קֹדֶשׁ֮ מִן־הָאָרֶץ֒ אֹ֗רֶךְ חֲמִשָּׁ֨ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֨לֶף֙ אֹ֔רֶךְ וְרֹ֖חַב עֲשָׂ֣רָה אָ֑לֶף קֹדֶשׁ־ה֥וּא בְכָל־גְּבוּלָ֖הּ סָבִֽיב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yiheye֤h mizּeh֙ 'el-haqּo֔deshsh chame֥shsh me'֛ot bּachame֥shsh me'֖ot merubּa֣ sabi֑yb vachamishshּi֣ym 'amּa֔h migera֥shsh l֖o sabiֽyb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred in length, with five hundred in breadth, foursquare round about; and fifty cubits round about for the suburbs thereof.

יִהְיֶ֤ה מִזֶּה֙ אֶל־הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֛וֹת בַּחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת מְרֻבָּ֣ע סָבִ֑יב וַחֲמִשִּׁ֣ים אַמָּ֔ה מִגְרָ֥שׁ ל֖וֹ סָבִֽיב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umin-hamּidּa֤h hazּo't֙ tּam֔od 'o֗reke chmsh chamishshּa֤h ve'eshseriym֙ 'e֔lep vero֖chab 'ashse֣ret 'alapi֑ym ubֽo-yiheye֥h hamּiqedּa֖shsh qo֥deshsh qadashshiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)And of this measure shall you measure the length of five and twenty thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand: and in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place.

וּמִן־הַמִּדָּ֤ה הַזֹּאת֙ תָּמ֔וֹד אֹ֗רֶךְ חמש חֲמִשָּׁ֤ה וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ אֶ֔לֶף וְרֹ֖חַב עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת אֲלָפִ֑ים וּבֽוֹ־יִהְיֶ֥ה הַמִּקְדָּ֖שׁ קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָדָשִֽׁים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): qo֣deshsh min-ha'a֜retz h֗u lakּo֨hani֜ym meshsharete֤y hamּiqedּashsh֙ yiֽheye֔h haqּerebi֖ym leshshare֣t 'et-yehva֑h vehaya֨h lahe֤m maqom֙ leba֣tּi֔ym umiqedּa֖shsh lamּiqedּaֽshsh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister to the LORD: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.

קֹ֣דֶשׁ מִן־הָאָ֜רֶץ ה֗וּא לַכֹּ֨הֲנִ֜ים מְשָׁרְתֵ֤י הַמִּקְדָּשׁ֙ יִֽהְיֶ֔ה הַקְּרֵבִ֖ים לְשָׁרֵ֣ת אֶת־יְהוָ֑ה וְהָיָ֨ה לָהֶ֤ם מָקוֹם֙ לְבָ֣תִּ֔ים וּמִקְדָּ֖שׁ לַמִּקְדָּֽשׁ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vachamishshּa֨h ve'eshseri֥ym 'e֨lep֙ 'o֔reke va'ashse֥ret 'alapi֖ym ro֑chab yhyh veֽhaya֡h laleviyּim֩ meshsharete֨y habּa֧yit lahe֛m la'achuzּa֖h 'eshseri֥ym leshshakoֽt׃

Edified Edition (EDE)And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of breadth, shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.

וַחֲמִשָּׁ֨ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֨לֶף֙ אֹ֔רֶךְ וַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת אֲלָפִ֖ים רֹ֑חַב יהיה וְֽהָיָ֡ה לַלְוִיִּם֩ מְשָׁרְתֵ֨י הַבַּ֧יִת לָהֶ֛ם לַאֲחֻזָּ֖ה עֶשְׂרִ֥ים לְשָׁכֹֽת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): va'achuzּa֨t ha'i֜yr tּitּen֗u chame֤shshet 'alapiym֙ ro֔chab ve'o֗reke chamishshּa֤h ve'eshseriym֙ 'e֔lep le'umּa֖t tּeruma֣t haqּo֑deshsh lekal-bּe֥yt yishsera'e֖l yiheyeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)And you shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad, and five and twenty thousand long, over against the oblation of the holy portion: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.

וַאֲחֻזַּ֨ת הָעִ֜יר תִּתְּנ֗וּ חֲמֵ֤שֶׁת אֲלָפִים֙ רֹ֔חַב וְאֹ֗רֶךְ חֲמִשָּׁ֤ה וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ אֶ֔לֶף לְעֻמַּ֖ת תְּרוּמַ֣ת הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ לְכָל־בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יִהְיֶֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): velanּashsi֡y mizּe֣h umizּeh֩ literuma֨t haqּo֜deshsh vela'achuzּa֣t ha'i֗yr 'el-pּene֤y terֽumat-haqּo֨deshsh֙ ve'el-pּeney֙ 'achuzּa֣t ha'i֔yr mipּe'at-ya֣m ya֔mּah umipּe'at-qe֖demah qadi֑ymah ve'o֗reke le'umּot֙ 'acha֣d hachalaqi֔ym migּeb֥ul ya֖m 'el-gּeb֥ul qadiֽymah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on the other side of the oblation of the holy portion, and of the possession of the city, before the oblation of the holy portion, and before the possession of the city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: and the length shall be over against one of the portions, from the west border to the east border.

וְלַנָּשִׂ֡יא מִזֶּ֣ה וּמִזֶּה֩ לִתְרוּמַ֨ת הַקֹּ֜דֶשׁ וְלַאֲחֻזַּ֣ת הָעִ֗יר אֶל־פְּנֵ֤י תְרֽוּמַת־הַקֹּ֨דֶשׁ֙ וְאֶל־פְּנֵי֙ אֲחֻזַּ֣ת הָעִ֔יר מִפְּאַת־יָ֣ם יָ֔מָּה וּמִפְּאַת־קֵ֖דְמָה קָדִ֑ימָה וְאֹ֗רֶךְ לְעֻמּוֹת֙ אַחַ֣ד הַחֲלָקִ֔ים מִגְּב֥וּל יָ֖ם אֶל־גְּב֥וּל קָדִֽימָה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): la'a֛retz yiֽheyeh-lּ֥o laֽ'achuzּa֖h bּeyishsera'e֑l velo'-yon֨u '֤od neshsiy'ay֙ 'et-'amּi֔y veha'a֛retz yitּen֥u lebeֽyt-yishsera'e֖l leshshibeteyheֽm׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)In the land shall be his possession in Israel: and My princes shall no more oppress My people; and the rest of the land shall they give to the house of Israel according to their tribes.

לָאָ֛רֶץ יִֽהְיֶה־לּ֥וֹ לַֽאֲחֻזָּ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֹא־יוֹנ֨וּ ע֤וֹד נְשִׂיאַי֙ אֶת־עַמִּ֔י וְהָאָ֛רֶץ יִתְּנ֥וּ לְבֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְשִׁבְטֵיהֶֽם׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּoֽh-'ama֞r 'adona֣y yehvi֗h rab-lakem֙ neshsiy'e֣y yishsera'e֔l chama֤s vashshod֙ hasi֔yru umishshepּa֥t utzedaqa֖h 'ashs֑u hari֤ymu gerushshoֽteykem֙ me'a֣l 'amּi֔y ne'u֖m 'adona֥y yehviֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the Lord GOD; "Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgement and justice, take away your exactions from My people," says the Lord GOD.

כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה רַב־לָכֶם֙ נְשִׂיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל חָמָ֤ס וָשֹׁד֙ הָסִ֔ירוּ וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּצְדָקָ֖ה עֲשׂ֑וּ הָרִ֤ימוּ גְרֻשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ מֵעַ֣ל עַמִּ֔י נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): moֽ'zeney-tze֧deq ve'eֽypat-tze֛deq ubat-tze֖deq yehi֥y lakeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"You shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath."

מֹֽאזְנֵי־צֶ֧דֶק וְאֵֽיפַת־צֶ֛דֶק וּבַת־צֶ֖דֶק יְהִ֥י לָכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ha'eypa֣h vehabּa֗t tּo֤ken 'echad֙ yiֽheye֔h lashse֕'t ma'eshsa֥r hacho֖mer habּa֑t va'ashsiyri֤t hacho֨mer֙ haֽ'eypa֔h 'el-hacho֖mer yiheye֥h matekּunetּֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain the tenth part of an homer, and the ephah the tenth part of an homer: the measure thereof shall be after the homer."

הָאֵיפָ֣ה וְהַבַּ֗ת תֹּ֤כֶן אֶחָד֙ יִֽהְיֶ֔ה לָשֵׂ֕את מַעְשַׂ֥ר הַחֹ֖מֶר הַבָּ֑ת וַעֲשִׂירִ֤ת הַחֹ֨מֶר֙ הָֽאֵיפָ֔ה אֶל־הַחֹ֖מֶר יִהְיֶ֥ה מַתְכֻּנְתּֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehashshּe֖qel 'eshseri֣ym gּera֑h 'eshseri֨ym shsheqali֜ym chamishshּa֧h ve'eshseri֣ym shsheqali֗ym 'ashsara֤h vachamishshּah֙ shshe֔qel hamּane֖h yiֽheye֥h lakeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And the shekel shall be twenty gerahs: twenty shekels, five and twenty shekels, fifteen shekels, shall be your maneh."

וְהַשֶּׁ֖קֶל עֶשְׂרִ֣ים גֵּרָ֑ה עֶשְׂרִ֨ים שְׁקָלִ֜ים חֲמִשָּׁ֧ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֣ים שְׁקָלִ֗ים עֲשָׂרָ֤ה וַחֲמִשָּׁה֙ שֶׁ֔קֶל הַמָּנֶ֖ה יִֽהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): zo֥'t hatּeruma֖h 'ashshe֣r tּari֑ymu shshishshּi֤yt haֽ'eypah֙ mecho֣mer haֽchitּi֔ym veshshishshּiytem֙ haֽ'eypa֔h mecho֖mer hashsּe'oriֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"This is the oblation that you shall offer; the sixth part of an ephah of an homer of wheat, and you shall give the sixth part of an ephah of an homer of barley:"

זֹ֥את הַתְּרוּמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר תָּרִ֑ימוּ שִׁשִּׁ֤ית הָֽאֵיפָה֙ מֵחֹ֣מֶר הַֽחִטִּ֔ים וְשִׁשִּׁיתֶם֙ הָֽאֵיפָ֔ה מֵחֹ֖מֶר הַשְּׂעֹרִֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vecho֨q hashshּe֜men habּa֣t hashshּe֗men ma'eshsa֤r habּat֙ min-hakּo֔r 'ashse֥ret habּatּi֖ym cho֑mer kּiֽy-'ashse֥ret habּatּi֖ym choֽmer׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Concerning the ordinance of oil, the bath of oil, you shall offer the tenth part of a bath out of the cor, which is an homer of ten baths; for ten baths are an homer:"

וְחֹ֨ק הַשֶּׁ֜מֶן הַבַּ֣ת הַשֶּׁ֗מֶן מַעְשַׂ֤ר הַבַּת֙ מִן־הַכֹּ֔ר עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת הַבַּתִּ֖ים חֹ֑מֶר כִּֽי־עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת הַבַּתִּ֖ים חֹֽמֶר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veshseh-'acha֨t min-hatzּo֤'n min-hamּa'ta֨yim֙ mimּashsheqe֣h yishsera'e֔l leminecha֖h ule'ola֣h velishshelami֑ym lekapּe֣r 'aleyhe֔m ne'u֖m 'adona֥y yehviֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make reconciliation for them," says the Lord GOD.

וְשֶׂה־אַחַ֨ת מִן־הַצֹּ֤אן מִן־הַמָּאתַ֨יִם֙ מִמַּשְׁקֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְמִנְחָ֖ה וּלְעוֹלָ֣ה וְלִשְׁלָמִ֑ים לְכַפֵּ֣ר עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֚l ha'a֣m ha'a֔retz yihey֖u 'el-hatּeruma֣h hazּo֑'t lanּashsi֖y bּeyishsera'eֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"All the people of the land shall give this oblation for the prince in Israel."

כֹּ֚ל הָעָ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ יִהְי֖וּ אֶל־הַתְּרוּמָ֣ה הַזֹּ֑את לַנָּשִׂ֖יא בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'aֽl-hanּashsi֣y yiheye֗h ha'ol֣ot vehamּinechah֮ vehanּeseke֒ bּachagּi֤ym ubechodashshiym֙ ubashshּabּat֔ot bּekaֽl-mo'ade֖y bּe֣yt yishsera'e֑l hֽu'-ya'ashse֞h 'et-hachatּa֣'t ve'et-hamּinecha֗h ve'et-haֽ'olah֙ ve'et-hashshּelami֔ym lekapּe֖r bּe'a֥d bּeֽyt-yishsera'eֽl׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel."

וְעַֽל־הַנָּשִׂ֣יא יִהְיֶ֗ה הָעוֹל֣וֹת וְהַמִּנְחָה֮ וְהַנֵּסֶךְ֒ בַּחַגִּ֤ים וּבֶחֳדָשִׁים֙ וּבַשַּׁבָּת֔וֹת בְּכָֽל־מוֹעֲדֵ֖י בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל הֽוּא־יַעֲשֶׂ֞ה אֶת־הַחַטָּ֣את וְאֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֗ה וְאֶת־הָֽעוֹלָה֙ וְאֶת־הַשְּׁלָמִ֔ים לְכַפֵּ֖ר בְּעַ֥ד בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּoh-'amar֮ 'adona֣y yehvih֒ bּaֽri'shshon֙ bּe'echa֣d lacho֔deshsh tּiqּa֥ch pּar-bּen-bּaqa֖r tּami֑ym vechitּe'ta֖ 'et-hamּiqedּaֽshsh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the Lord GOD; "In the first month, in the first day of the month, you shall take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary:"

כֹּה־אָמַר֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִה֒ בָּֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ בְּאֶחָ֣ד לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ תִּקַּ֥ח פַּר־בֶּן־בָּקָ֖ר תָּמִ֑ים וְחִטֵּאתָ֖ אֶת־הַמִּקְדָּֽשׁ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): velaqa֨ch hakּohe֜n midּa֣m hachatּa֗'t venatan֙ 'el-mezuza֣t habּa֔yit ve'el-'arebּa֛ pּinּ֥ot ha'azara֖h lamּizebּe֑cha ve'a֨l-mezuza֔t shsha֖'ar hechatze֥r hapּeniymiֽyt׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court."

וְלָקַ֨ח הַכֹּהֵ֜ן מִדַּ֣ם הַחַטָּ֗את וְנָתַן֙ אֶל־מְזוּזַ֣ת הַבַּ֔יִת וְאֶל־אַרְבַּ֛ע פִּנּ֥וֹת הָעֲזָרָ֖ה לַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ וְעַ֨ל־מְזוּזַ֔ת שַׁ֖עַר הֶחָצֵ֥ר הַפְּנִימִֽית׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veke֤n tּaֽ'ashseh֙ bּeshshibe'a֣h bacho֔deshsh me'i֥yshsh shshoge֖h umipּe֑tiy vekipּaretּe֖m 'et-habּaֽyit׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And so you shall do the seventh day of the month for every one that errs, and for him that is simple: so shall you reconcile the house."

וְכֵ֤ן תַּֽעֲשֶׂה֙ בְּשִׁבְעָ֣ה בַחֹ֔דֶשׁ מֵאִ֥ישׁ שֹׁגֶ֖ה וּמִפֶּ֑תִי וְכִפַּרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־הַבָּֽיִת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּa֠ri'shshon bּe'arebּa'a֨h 'ashsa֥r yom֙ lacho֔deshsh yiheye֥h lake֖m hapּa֑sach cha֕g shshebu'֣ot yami֔ym matzּ֖ot ye'akeֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, you shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten."

בָּ֠רִאשׁוֹן בְּאַרְבָּעָ֨ה עָשָׂ֥ר יוֹם֙ לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם הַפָּ֑סַח חָ֕ג שְׁבֻע֣וֹת יָמִ֔ים מַצּ֖וֹת יֵאָכֵֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'ashsa֤h hanּashsiy'֙ bּayּ֣om hah֔u bּa'ad֕o ube'a֖d kּal-'a֣m ha'a֑retz pּa֖r chatּaֽ't׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering."

וְעָשָׂ֤ה הַנָּשִׂיא֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא בַּעֲד֕וֹ וּבְעַ֖ד כָּל־עַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ פַּ֖ר חַטָּֽאת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veshshibe'a֨t yemeֽy-hecha֜g ya'ashse֧h 'ola֣h laֽyhva֗h shshibe'a֣t pּa֠riym veshshibe'a֨t 'eyli֤ym tּemiymim֙ layּ֔om shshibe'a֖t hayּami֑ym vechatּa֕'t shse'i֥yr 'izּi֖ym layּֽom׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering."

וְשִׁבְעַ֨ת יְמֵֽי־הֶחָ֜ג יַעֲשֶׂ֧ה עוֹלָ֣ה לַֽיהוָ֗ה שִׁבְעַ֣ת פָּ֠רִים וְשִׁבְעַ֨ת אֵילִ֤ים תְּמִימִם֙ לַיּ֔וֹם שִׁבְעַ֖ת הַיָּמִ֑ים וְחַטָּ֕את שְׂעִ֥יר עִזִּ֖ים לַיּֽוֹם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): uminecha֗h 'eypa֥h lapּa֛r ve'eypa֥h la'a֖yil yaֽ'ashse֑h veshshe֖men hi֥yn la'eypaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And he shall prepare a meat offering of an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and an hin of oil for an ephah."

וּמִנְחָ֗ה אֵיפָ֥ה לַפָּ֛ר וְאֵיפָ֥ה לָאַ֖יִל יַֽעֲשֶׂ֑ה וְשֶׁ֖מֶן הִ֥ין לָאֵיפָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּashshּebiy'i֡y bּachamishshּah֩ 'ashsa֨r y֤om lacho֨deshsh֙ bּecha֔g ya'ashse֥h ka'e֖lּeh shshibe'a֣t hayּami֑ym kּaֽchatּa't֙ kּa'ola֔h vekamּinecha֖h vekashshּaֽmen׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"In the seventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil."

בַּשְּׁבִיעִ֡י בַּחֲמִשָּׁה֩ עָשָׂ֨ר י֤וֹם לַחֹ֨דֶשׁ֙ בֶּחָ֔ג יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה כָאֵ֖לֶּה שִׁבְעַ֣ת הַיָּמִ֑ים כַּֽחַטָּאת֙ כָּעֹלָ֔ה וְכַמִּנְחָ֖ה וְכַשָּֽׁמֶן׃ס
