Phonetic (Hebrew): vayehi֗y 'acharey֙ hadּebari֣ym ha'e֔lּeh vayּo֣'mer leyose֔p hinּe֥h 'abi֖yka chole֑h vayּiqּa֞ch 'et-shshene֤y banayv֙ 'imּ֔o 'et-menashshּe֖h ve'et-'eperaֽyim׃
King James Version (KJV)And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

וַיְהִ֗י אַחֲרֵי֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְיוֹסֵ֔ף הִנֵּ֥ה אָבִ֖יךָ חֹלֶ֑ה וַיִּקַּ֞ח אֶת־שְׁנֵ֤י בָנָיו֙ עִמּ֔וֹ אֶת־מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה וְאֶת־אֶפְרָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּagּe֣d leya'aqo֔b vayּo֕'mer hinּe֛h bּineka֥ yose֖p bּa֣ 'ele֑yka vayּitechazּeq֙ yishsera'e֔l vayּe֖shsheb 'al-hamּitּaֽh׃
King James Version (KJV)And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.

וַיַּגֵּ֣ד לְיַעֲקֹ֔ב וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הִנֵּ֛ה בִּנְךָ֥ יוֹסֵ֖ף בָּ֣א אֵלֶ֑יךָ וַיִּתְחַזֵּק֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב עַל־הַמִּטָּֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer ya'aqob֙ 'el-yose֔p 'e֥l shshadּa֛y nire'aֽh-'ela֥y bּel֖uz bּe'e֣retz kּena֑'an vayeba֖reke 'otiֽy׃
King James Version (KJV)And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יַעֲקֹב֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף אֵ֥ל שַׁדַּ֛י נִרְאָֽה־אֵלַ֥י בְּל֖וּז בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן וַיְבָ֖רֶךְ אֹתִֽי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֣'mer 'ela֗y hineni֤y mapereka֙ vehirebּiyti֔ka unetatּi֖yka liqeha֣l 'amּi֑ym vena֨tatּi֜y 'et-ha'a֧retz hazּo֛'t lezare'aka֥ 'achare֖yka 'achuzּa֥t 'olaֽm׃
King James Version (KJV)And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י הִנְנִ֤י מַפְרְךָ֙ וְהִרְבִּיתִ֔ךָ וּנְתַתִּ֖יךָ לִקְהַ֣ל עַמִּ֑ים וְנָ֨תַתִּ֜י אֶת־הָאָ֧רֶץ הַזֹּ֛את לְזַרְעֲךָ֥ אַחֲרֶ֖יךָ אֲחֻזַּ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'atּa֡h shsheneֽy-baneyka֩ hanּoladi֨ym leka֜ bּe'e֣retz mitzera֗yim 'ad-bּo'i֥y 'ele֛yka mitzera֖yemah liy-he֑m 'epera֨yim֙ umenashshּe֔h kּire'ube֥n veshshime'֖on yiֽheyu-liֽy׃
King James Version (KJV)And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

וְעַתָּ֡ה שְׁנֵֽי־בָנֶיךָ֩ הַנּוֹלָדִ֨ים לְךָ֜ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֗יִם עַד־בֹּאִ֥י אֵלֶ֛יךָ מִצְרַ֖יְמָה לִי־הֵ֑ם אֶפְרַ֨יִם֙ וּמְנַשֶּׁ֔ה כִּרְאוּבֵ֥ן וְשִׁמְע֖וֹן יִֽהְיוּ־לִֽי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umoladetּeka֛ 'ashsher-hola֥detּa 'achareyhe֖m leka֣ yihey֑u 'a֣l shshe֧m 'acheyhe֛m yiqּare'֖u bּenachalataֽm׃
King James Version (KJV)And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.

וּמוֹלַדְתְּךָ֛ אֲשֶׁר־הוֹלַ֥דְתָּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם לְךָ֣ יִהְי֑וּ עַ֣ל שֵׁ֧ם אֲחֵיהֶ֛ם יִקָּרְא֖וּ בְּנַחֲלָתָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): va'ani֣y ׀ bּebo'i֣y mipּadּa֗n me֩tah֩ 'ala֨y rache֜l bּe'e֤retz kּena֨'an֙ bּadּe֔reke bּe'֥od kּiberat-'e֖retz labo֣ 'epera֑tah va'eqebּere֤ha shshּam֙ bּede֣reke 'epera֔t hi֖v bּe֥yt laֽchem׃
King James Version (KJV)And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem.

וַאֲנִ֣י ׀ בְּבֹאִ֣י מִפַּדָּ֗ן מֵ֩תָה֩ עָלַ֨י רָחֵ֜ל בְּאֶ֤רֶץ כְּנַ֨עַן֙ בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ בְּע֥וֹד כִּבְרַת־אֶ֖רֶץ לָבֹ֣א אֶפְרָ֑תָה וָאֶקְבְּרֶ֤הָ שָּׁם֙ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ אֶפְרָ֔ת הִ֖וא בֵּ֥ית לָֽחֶם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֥re yishsera'e֖l 'et-bּene֣y yose֑p vayּo֖'mer miy-'eֽlּeh׃
King James Version (KJV)And Israel beheld Joseph’s sons, and said, Who are these?

וַיַּ֥רְא יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֑ף וַיֹּ֖אמֶר מִי־אֵֽלֶּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer yosep֙ 'el-'abi֔yv bּana֣y he֔m 'ashsher-naֽtan-li֥y 'elohi֖ym bּaze֑h vayּo'ma֕r qaֽchem-na֥ 'ela֖y va'abarakeֽm׃
King James Version (KJV)And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יוֹסֵף֙ אֶל־אָבִ֔יו בָּנַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־נָֽתַן־לִ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים בָּזֶ֑ה וַיֹּאמַ֕ר קָֽחֶם־נָ֥א אֵלַ֖י וַאֲבָרֲכֵֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'eyne֤y yishsera'el֙ kּabed֣u mizּo֔qen lo֥ yuka֖l lire'֑ot vayּagּe֤shsh 'otam֙ 'ela֔yv vayּishshּa֥q lahe֖m vayechabּe֥q laheֽm׃
King James Version (KJV)Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.

וְעֵינֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כָּבְד֣וּ מִזֹּ֔קֶן לֹ֥א יוּכַ֖ל לִרְא֑וֹת וַיַּגֵּ֤שׁ אֹתָם֙ אֵלָ֔יו וַיִּשַּׁ֥ק לָהֶ֖ם וַיְחַבֵּ֥ק לָהֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer yishsera'el֙ 'el-yose֔p re'o֥h pane֖yka lo֣ pilּa֑letּiy vehinּe֨h here'a֥h 'oti֛y 'elohi֖ym gּa֥m 'et-zare'eֽka׃
King James Version (KJV)And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף רְאֹ֥ה פָנֶ֖יךָ לֹ֣א פִלָּ֑לְתִּי וְהִנֵּ֨ה הֶרְאָ֥ה אֹתִ֛י אֱלֹהִ֖ים גַּ֥ם אֶת־זַרְעֶֽךָ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּotze֥ yose֛p 'ota֖m me'i֣m bּirekּa֑yv vayּishshetּa֥chu le'apּa֖yv 'aֽretzah׃
King James Version (KJV)And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.

וַיּוֹצֵ֥א יוֹסֵ֛ף אֹתָ֖ם מֵעִ֣ם בִּרְכָּ֑יו וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ לְאַפָּ֖יו אָֽרְצָה׃

13
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֣ch yosep֮ 'et-shsheneyhem֒ 'et-'epera֤yim bּiֽymiyno֙ mishsּemo֣'l yishsera'e֔l ve'et-menashshּe֥h bishsemo'l֖o miymi֣yn yishsera'e֑l vayּagּe֖shsh 'elaֽyv׃
King James Version (KJV)And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near unto him.

וַיִּקַּ֣ח יוֹסֵף֮ אֶת־שְׁנֵיהֶם֒ אֶת־אֶפְרַ֤יִם בִּֽימִינוֹ֙ מִשְּׂמֹ֣אל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאֶת־מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה בִשְׂמֹאל֖וֹ מִימִ֣ין יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיַּגֵּ֖שׁ אֵלָֽיו׃

14
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּishshelach֩ yishsera'e֨l 'et-yemiyn֜o vayּa֨shshet 'al-ro֤'shsh 'epera֨yim֙ veh֣u hatzּa'i֔yr ve'et-shsemo'l֖o 'al-ro֣'shsh menashshּe֑h shsikּel֙ 'et-yada֔yv kּi֥y menashshּe֖h habּekֽor׃
King James Version (KJV)And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.

וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־יְמִינ֜וֹ וַיָּ֨שֶׁת עַל־רֹ֤אשׁ אֶפְרַ֨יִם֙ וְה֣וּא הַצָּעִ֔יר וְאֶת־שְׂמֹאל֖וֹ עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה שִׂכֵּל֙ אֶת־יָדָ֔יו כִּ֥י מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה הַבְּכֽוֹר׃

15
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayeba֥reke 'et-yose֖p vayּo'ma֑r haֽ'elohi֡ym 'ashsher֩ hitehalּek֨u 'abota֤y lepanayv֙ 'aberaha֣m veyitzecha֔q haֽ'elohiym֙ haro'e֣h 'oti֔y me'odi֖y 'ad-hayּ֥om hazּeֽh׃
King James Version (KJV)And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,

וַיְבָ֥רֶךְ אֶת־יוֹסֵ֖ף וַיֹּאמַ֑ר הָֽאֱלֹהִ֡ים אֲשֶׁר֩ הִתְהַלְּכ֨וּ אֲבֹתַ֤י לְפָנָיו֙ אַבְרָהָ֣ם וְיִצְחָ֔ק הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ הָרֹעֶ֣ה אֹתִ֔י מֵעוֹדִ֖י עַד־הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

16
Phonetic (Hebrew): hamּale'ake֩ hagּo'e֨l 'oti֜y mikּal-ra֗ yebareke֮ 'et-hanּe'ariym֒ veyiqּare֤ bahem֙ shshemi֔y veshshe֥m 'abota֖y 'aberaha֣m veyitzecha֑q veyidegּ֥u laro֖b bּeqe֥reb ha'aֽretz׃
King James Version (KJV)The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

הַמַּלְאָךְ֩ הַגֹּאֵ֨ל אֹתִ֜י מִכָּל־רָ֗ע יְבָרֵךְ֮ אֶת־הַנְּעָרִים֒ וְיִקָּרֵ֤א בָהֶם֙ שְׁמִ֔י וְשֵׁ֥ם אֲבֹתַ֖י אַבְרָהָ֣ם וְיִצְחָ֑ק וְיִדְגּ֥וּ לָרֹ֖ב בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃

17
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֣re yose֗p kּiy-yashshi֨yt 'abi֧yv yad-yemiyn֛o 'al-ro֥'shsh 'epera֖yim vayּe֣ra bּe'eyna֑yv vayּitemo֣ke yad-'abi֗yv lehasi֥yr 'ota֛hּ me'a֥l ro'shsh-'epera֖yim 'al-ro֥'shsh menashshּeֽh׃
King James Version (KJV)And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.

וַיַּ֣רְא יוֹסֵ֗ף כִּי־יָשִׁ֨ית אָבִ֧יו יַד־יְמִינ֛וֹ עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ אֶפְרַ֖יִם וַיֵּ֣רַע בְּעֵינָ֑יו וַיִּתְמֹ֣ךְ יַד־אָבִ֗יו לְהָסִ֥יר אֹתָ֛הּ מֵעַ֥ל רֹאשׁ־אֶפְרַ֖יִם עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

18
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֧'mer yose֛p 'el-'abi֖yv lo'-ke֣n 'abi֑y kּiy-ze֣h habּeko֔r shsi֥ym yemiyneka֖ 'al-ro'shshֽo׃
King James Version (KJV)And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.

וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יוֹסֵ֛ף אֶל־אָבִ֖יו לֹא־כֵ֣ן אָבִ֑י כִּי־זֶ֣ה הַבְּכֹ֔ר שִׂ֥ים יְמִינְךָ֖ עַל־רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃

19
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayema'e֣n 'abi֗yv vayּo֨'mer֙ yada֤'etּiֽy beniy֙ yada֔'etּiy gּam-h֥u yiֽheyeh-lּe'a֖m vegam-h֣u yigedּa֑l ve'ula֗m 'achi֤yv haqּaton֙ yigedּa֣l mimּe֔nּu vezare'֖o yiheye֥h meloֽ'-hagּoyiֽm׃
King James Version (KJV)And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

וַיְמָאֵ֣ן אָבִ֗יו וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ יָדַ֤עְתִּֽי בְנִי֙ יָדַ֔עְתִּי גַּם־ה֥וּא יִֽהְיֶה־לְּעָ֖ם וְגַם־ה֣וּא יִגְדָּ֑ל וְאוּלָ֗ם אָחִ֤יו הַקָּטֹן֙ יִגְדַּ֣ל מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְזַרְע֖וֹ יִהְיֶ֥ה מְלֹֽא־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayeba֨rake֜m bּayּ֣om hahu'֮ le'mor֒ bּeka֗ yebare֤ke yishsera'el֙ le'mo֔r yeshsiֽmeka֣ 'elohi֔ym kּe'epera֖yim vekimenashshּe֑h vayּa֥shsem 'et-'epera֖yim lipene֥y menashshּeֽh׃
King James Version (KJV)And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

וַיְבָ֨רֲכֵ֜ם בַּיּ֣וֹם הַהוּא֮ לֵאמוֹר֒ בְּךָ֗ יְבָרֵ֤ךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יְשִֽׂמְךָ֣ אֱלֹהִ֔ים כְּאֶפְרַ֖יִם וְכִמְנַשֶּׁ֑ה וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־אֶפְרַ֖יִם לִפְנֵ֥י מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer yishsera'el֙ 'el-yose֔p hinּe֥h 'anoki֖y me֑t vehaya֤h 'elohiym֙ 'imּake֔m veheshshi֣yb 'eteke֔m 'el-'e֖retz 'aboteykeֽm׃
King James Version (KJV)And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף הִנֵּ֥ה אָנֹכִ֖י מֵ֑ת וְהָיָ֤ה אֱלֹהִים֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם וְהֵשִׁ֣יב אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ אֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): va'ani֞y nata֧tּiֽy leka֛ shsheke֥m 'acha֖d 'al-'ache֑yka 'ashshe֤r laqa֨chetּiy֙ miyּa֣d haֽ'emori֔y bּecharebּi֖y ubeqashshetּiֽy׃p
King James Version (KJV)Moreover I have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.

וַאֲנִ֞י נָתַ֧תִּֽי לְךָ֛ שְׁכֶ֥ם אַחַ֖ד עַל־אַחֶ֑יךָ אֲשֶׁ֤ר לָקַ֨חְתִּי֙ מִיַּ֣ד הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י בְּחַרְבִּ֖י וּבְקַשְׁתִּֽי׃פ
