Chapter 22

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֚h 'ama֣r yehva֔h re֖d bּeֽyt-me֣leke yehuda֑h vedibּaretּa֣ shsha֔m 'et-hadּaba֖r hazּeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD; "Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,"

כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה רֵ֖ד בֵּֽית־מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ שָׁ֔ם אֶת־הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'aֽmaretּa֙ shshema֣ dּebar-yehva֔h me֣leke yehuda֔h hayּoshshe֖b 'al-kּisּe֣ davi֑d 'atּa֤h va'abade֨yka֙ ve'amּeka֔ habּa'i֖ym bּashshּe'ari֥ym ha'eֽlּeh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)And say, "Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people that enter in by these gates:"

וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ שְׁמַ֣ע דְּבַר־יְהוָ֔ה מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה הַיֹּשֵׁ֖ב עַל־כִּסֵּ֣א דָוִ֑ד אַתָּ֤ה וַעֲבָדֶ֨יךָ֙ וְעַמְּךָ֔ הַבָּאִ֖ים בַּשְּׁעָרִ֥ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h 'ashs֤u mishshepּat֙ utzedaqa֔h vehatzּi֥ylu gaz֖ul miyּa֣d 'ashsh֑oq veger֩ yat֨om ve'alemana֤h 'al-tּonu֙ 'al-tּachemo֔su veda֣m naqi֔y 'aֽl-tּishshepּek֖u bּamּaq֥om hazּeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD; "Execute you judgement and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place."

כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה עֲשׂ֤וּ מִשְׁפָּט֙ וּצְדָקָ֔ה וְהַצִּ֥ילוּ גָז֖וּל מִיַּ֣ד עָשׁ֑וֹק וְגֵר֩ יָת֨וֹם וְאַלְמָנָ֤ה אַל־תֹּנוּ֙ אַל־תַּחְמֹ֔סוּ וְדָ֣ם נָקִ֔י אַֽל־תִּשְׁפְּכ֖וּ בַּמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֤y 'im-'ashso֙ tּaֽ'ashs֔u 'et-hadּaba֖r hazּe֑h uba֣'u beshsha'are֣y habּa֣yit hazּe֡h melakiym֩ yoshshebi֨ym ledavi֜d 'al-kּise'֗o roֽkebiym֙ bּare֣keb ubasּusi֔ym h֥u v'bdv va'abada֖yv ve'amּֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"For if you do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people."

כִּ֤י אִם־עָשׂוֹ֙ תַּֽעֲשׂ֔וּ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה וּבָ֣אוּ בְשַׁעֲרֵ֣י הַבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּ֡ה מְלָכִים֩ יֹשְׁבִ֨ים לְדָוִ֜ד עַל־כִּסְא֗וֹ רֹֽכְבִים֙ בָּרֶ֣כֶב וּבַסּוּסִ֔ים ה֥וּא ועבדו וַעֲבָדָ֖יו וְעַמּֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'im֙ lo֣ tishsheme'֔u 'et-hadּebari֖ym ha'e֑lּeh bּi֤y nishshebּa֨'etּiy֙ ne'um-yehva֔h kּiy-lecharebּa֥h yiֽheye֖h habּa֥yit hazּeֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"But if you will not hear these words, I swear by Myself," says the LORD, "that this house shall become a desolation."

וְאִם֙ לֹ֣א תִשְׁמְע֔וּ אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה בִּ֤י נִשְׁבַּ֨עְתִּי֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה כִּי־לְחָרְבָּ֥ה יִֽהְיֶ֖ה הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּiֽy-ko֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h 'al-bּeyt֙ me֣leke yehuda֔h gּile'a֥d 'atּa֛h li֖y ro֣'shsh halּeban֑on 'im-lo֤ 'ashshiֽyteka֙ midebּa֔r 'ari֖ym lo֥ nvshbh noshshaֽbu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)For thus says the LORD to the king's house of Judah; "You are Gilead to Me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make you a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited."

כִּֽי־כֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה עַל־בֵּית֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה גִּלְעָ֥ד אַתָּ֛ה לִ֖י רֹ֣אשׁ הַלְּבָנ֑וֹן אִם־לֹ֤א אֲשִֽׁיתְךָ֙ מִדְבָּ֔ר עָרִ֖ים לֹ֥א נושבה נוֹשָֽׁבוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veqidּashshetּi֥y 'ale֛yka mashshechiti֖ym 'i֣yshsh vekela֑yv vekaֽretu֙ mibecha֣r 'araze֔yka vehipּi֖ylu 'al-ha'eֽshsh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And I will prepare destroyers against you, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire."

וְקִדַּשְׁתִּ֥י עָלֶ֛יךָ מַשְׁחִתִ֖ים אִ֣ישׁ וְכֵלָ֑יו וְכָֽרְתוּ֙ מִבְחַ֣ר אֲרָזֶ֔יךָ וְהִפִּ֖ילוּ עַל־הָאֵֽשׁ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'aֽberu֙ gּoyi֣m rabּi֔ym 'a֖l ha'i֣yr hazּo֑'t ve'aֽmeru֙ 'i֣yshsh 'el-re'e֔hu 'al-me֨h 'ashsa֤h yehvah֙ kּa֔kah la'i֥yr hagּedola֖h hazּoֽ't׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, 'Wherefore has the LORD done thus to this great city?'"

וְעָֽבְרוּ֙ גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֔ים עַ֖ל הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֔הוּ עַל־מֶ֨ה עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ כָּ֔כָה לָעִ֥יר הַגְּדוֹלָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'a֣mer֔u 'a֚l 'ashshe֣r 'aֽzeb֔u 'et-bּeri֥yt yehva֖h 'eloֽheyhe֑m vayּiֽshshetּachav֛u le'lohi֥ym 'acheri֖ym vayּa'abedֽum׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"Then they shall answer, 'Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.'"

וְאָ֣מְר֔וּ עַ֚ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָֽזְב֔וּ אֶת־בְּרִ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֛וּ לֵאלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים וַיַּעַבְדֽוּם׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): al-tּibekּ֣u leme֔t ve'al-tּanu֖du l֑o bּek֤u bako֙ laֽhole֔ke kּi֣y lo֤ yashshub֙ '֔od vera'a֖h 'et-'e֥retz moladetּֽo׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Weep you not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goes away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

אַל־תִּבְכּ֣וּ לְמֵ֔ת וְאַל־תָּנֻ֖דוּ ל֑וֹ בְּכ֤וּ בָכוֹ֙ לַֽהֹלֵ֔ךְ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָשׁוּב֙ ע֔וֹד וְרָאָ֖ה אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ מוֹלַדְתּֽוֹ׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֣y ko֣h 'aֽmar-ye֠hvah 'el-shshalּu֨m bּen-yo'shshiyּa֜hu me֣leke yehuda֗h hamּoleke֙ tּa֚chat yo'shshiyּa֣hu 'abi֔yv 'ashshe֥r yatza֖ min-hamּaq֣om hazּe֑h loֽ'-yashsh֥ub shsha֖m 'ֽod׃

Edified Edition (EDE)For thus says the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; "He shall not return There any more:"

כִּ֣י כֹ֣ה אָֽמַר־יְ֠הוָה אֶל־שַׁלֻּ֨ם בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֜הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה הַמֹּלֵךְ֙ תַּ֚חַת יֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּ אָבִ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָצָ֖א מִן־הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה לֹֽא־יָשׁ֥וּב שָׁ֖ם עֽוֹד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֗y bּimeq֛om 'ashsher-higel֥u 'ot֖o shsha֣m yam֑ut ve'et-ha'a֥retz hazּo֖'t loֽ'-yire'e֥h 'ֽod׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"But he shall die in the place Where they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more."

כִּ֗י בִּמְק֛וֹם אֲשֶׁר־הִגְל֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ שָׁ֣ם יָמ֑וּת וְאֶת־הָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּ֖את לֹֽא־יִרְאֶ֥ה עֽוֹד׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): h֣oy bּone֤h beyto֙ bּeֽlo'-tze֔deq va'aliyּota֖yv bּelo֣ mishshepּa֑t bּere'e֨hu֙ ya'abo֣d chinּa֔m upo'al֖o lo֥ yitּen-lֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Woe to him that builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that uses his neighbour's service without wages, and gives him not for his work;

ה֣וֹי בֹּנֶ֤ה בֵיתוֹ֙ בְּֽלֹא־צֶ֔דֶק וַעֲלִיּוֹתָ֖יו בְּלֹ֣א מִשְׁפָּ֑ט בְּרֵעֵ֨הוּ֙ יַעֲבֹ֣ד חִנָּ֔ם וּפֹעֲל֖וֹ לֹ֥א יִתֶּן־לֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ha'ome֗r 'ebeneh-lּiy֙ bּe֣yt midּ֔ot va'aliyּ֖ot meruachi֑ym veqa֤raֽ lo֙ chalּona֔y vesap֣un bּa'a֔rez umashsh֖ocha bּashshּashshaֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)That says, "I will build me a wide house and large chambers," and cutts him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.

הָאֹמֵ֗ר אֶבְנֶה־לִּי֙ בֵּ֣ית מִדּ֔וֹת וַעֲלִיּ֖וֹת מְרֻוָּחִ֑ים וְקָ֤רַֽע לוֹ֙ חַלּוֹנָ֔י וְסָפ֣וּן בָּאָ֔רֶז וּמָשׁ֖וֹחַ בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): hatiֽmelo֔ke kּi֥y 'atּa֖h metachare֣h ba'a֑rez 'abi֜yka hal֧o 'aka֣l veshshata֗h ve'ashsa֤h mishshepּat֙ utzedaqa֔h 'a֖z t֥ob lֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)shall you reign, because you closest yourself in cedar? did not your father eat and drink, and do judgement and justice, and then it was well with him?

הֲתִֽמְלֹ֔ךְ כִּ֥י אַתָּ֖ה מְתַחֲרֶ֣ה בָאָ֑רֶז אָבִ֜יךָ הֲל֧וֹא אָכַ֣ל וְשָׁתָ֗ה וְעָשָׂ֤ה מִשְׁפָּט֙ וּצְדָקָ֔ה אָ֖ז ט֥וֹב לֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): dּa֛n dּiyn-'ani֥y ve'ebey֖on 'a֣z t֑ob halo'-hi֛y hadּa֥'at 'oti֖y ne'um-yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know Me? says the LORD.

דָּ֛ן דִּין־עָנִ֥י וְאֶבְי֖וֹן אָ֣ז ט֑וֹב הֲלוֹא־הִ֛יא הַדַּ֥עַת אֹתִ֖י נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֣y 'e֤yn 'eyne֨yka֙ velibּeka֔ kּi֖y 'im-'al-bּitze'e֑ka ve'a֤l dּaֽm-hanּaqiy֙ lishshepּ֔oke ve'al-ha'o֥shsheq ve'al-hamּerutza֖h la'ashsֽot׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)But your eyes and your heart are not but for your covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין עֵינֶ֨יךָ֙ וְלִבְּךָ֔ כִּ֖י אִם־עַל־בִּצְעֶ֑ךָ וְעַ֤ל דַּֽם־הַנָּקִי֙ לִשְׁפּ֔וֹךְ וְעַל־הָעֹ֥שֶׁק וְעַל־הַמְּרוּצָ֖ה לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): lake֞n kּoֽh-'ama֣r yehva֗h 'el-yehoyaqi֤ym bּen-yo'shshiyּa֨hu֙ me֣leke yehuda֔h lo'-yisepּed֣u l֔o h֥oy 'achi֖y veh֣oy 'ach֑ot lo'-yisepּed֣u l֔o h֥oy 'ad֖on veh֥oy hodoֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore thus says the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; "They shall not lament for him, saying, 'Ah my brother!' or, 'Ah sister!' they shall not lament for him, saying, 'Ah lord!' or, 'Ah his glory!'"

לָכֵ֞ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אֶל־יְהוֹיָקִ֤ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֨הוּ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה לֹא־יִסְפְּד֣וּ ל֔וֹ ה֥וֹי אָחִ֖י וְה֣וֹי אָח֑וֹת לֹא־יִסְפְּד֣וּ ל֔וֹ ה֥וֹי אָד֖וֹן וְה֥וֹי הֹדֹֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): qebura֥t cham֖or yiqּabe֑r sach֣ob vehashshele֔ke meha֖le'ah leshsha'are֥y yerushshalaiֽm׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem."

קְבוּרַ֥ת חֲמ֖וֹר יִקָּבֵ֑ר סָח֣וֹב וְהַשְׁלֵ֔ךְ מֵהָ֖לְאָה לְשַׁעֲרֵ֥י יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ali֤y halּebanon֙ uֽtze'a֔qiy ubabּashsha֖n tּeni֣y qole֑ke vetzaֽ'aqiy֙ meֽ'abari֔ym kּi֥y nishshebּer֖u kּal-me'ahabaֽyike׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all your lovers are destroyed.

עֲלִ֤י הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ וּֽצְעָ֔קִי וּבַבָּשָׁ֖ן תְּנִ֣י קוֹלֵ֑ךְ וְצַֽעֲקִי֙ מֵֽעֲבָרִ֔ים כִּ֥י נִשְׁבְּר֖וּ כָּל־מְאַהֲבָֽיִךְ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): dּibּa֤retּiy 'ela֨yike֙ bּeshshalevota֔yike 'ama֖retּe lo֣ 'eshshema֑ ze֤h darekּeke֙ minּe'ura֔yike kּi֥y loֽ'-shshama֖'atּe bּeqoliֽy׃

Edified Edition (EDE)I spoke to you in your prosperity; but you saidst, "I will not hear." This has been your manner from your youth, that you obeyedst not My voice.

דִּבַּ֤רְתִּי אֵלַ֨יִךְ֙ בְּשַׁלְוֺתַ֔יִךְ אָמַ֖רְתְּ לֹ֣א אֶשְׁמָ֑ע זֶ֤ה דַרְכֵּךְ֙ מִנְּעוּרַ֔יִךְ כִּ֥י לֹֽא־שָׁמַ֖עַתְּ בְּקוֹלִֽי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּal-ro'a֨yike֙ tּire'eh-r֔ucha uֽme'ahaba֖yike bּashshּebi֣y yele֑ku kּi֣y 'a֤z tּebo֨shshiy֙ venikela֔metּe mikּo֖l ra'ateֽke׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The wind shall eat up all your pastors, and your lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shall you be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.

כָּל־רֹעַ֨יִךְ֙ תִּרְעֶה־ר֔וּחַ וּֽמְאַהֲבַ֖יִךְ בַּשְּׁבִ֣י יֵלֵ֑כוּ כִּ֣י אָ֤ז תֵּבֹ֨שִׁי֙ וְנִכְלַ֔מְתְּ מִכֹּ֖ל רָעָתֵֽךְ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yshbty yoshshabetּe֙ bּalּeban֔on mqnnty mequnּa֖netּe bּaֽ'arazi֑ym mah-nּechanetּe֙ bּebo'-la֣ke chabali֔ym chi֖yl kּayּoledaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest your nest in the cedars, how gracious shall you be when pangs come upon you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

ישבתי יֹשַׁבְתְּ֙ בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן מקננתי מְקֻנַּ֖נְתְּ בָּֽאֲרָזִ֑ים מַה־נֵּחַנְתְּ֙ בְּבֹא־לָ֣ךְ חֲבָלִ֔ים חִ֖יל כַּיֹּלֵדָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): chay-'aniy֮ ne'um-yehvah֒ kּi֣y 'im-yiheye֞h kּaneya֤hu ben-yehֽoyaqiym֙ me֣leke yehuda֔h chota֖m 'al-ya֣d yemiyni֑y kּi֥y mishshּa֖m 'etּeqeֽnekּa׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"As I live," says the LORD, "though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon My right hand, yet would I pluck you thence;"

חַי־אָנִי֮ נְאֻם־יְהוָה֒ כִּ֣י אִם־יִהְיֶ֞ה כָּנְיָ֤הוּ בֶן־יְהֽוֹיָקִים֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה חוֹתָ֖ם עַל־יַ֣ד יְמִינִ֑י כִּ֥י מִשָּׁ֖ם אֶתְּקֶֽנְךָּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): unetatּi֗yka bּeyad֙ mebaqeshshe֣y napeshshe֔ka ubeya֛d 'ashsher-'atּa֥h yag֖or mipּeneyhe֑m ubeya֛d nebukadere'tzּa֥r meֽleke-bּabe֖l ubeya֥d hakּashsedּiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And I will give you into the hand of them that seek your life, and into the hand of them whose face you fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans."

וּנְתַתִּ֗יךָ בְּיַד֙ מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י נַפְשֶׁ֔ךָ וּבְיַ֛ד אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֥ה יָג֖וֹר מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם וּבְיַ֛ד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל וּבְיַ֥ד הַכַּשְׂדִּֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veheֽtaletּi֣y 'oteka֗ ve'eֽt-'imּeka֙ 'ashshe֣r yelada֔teka 'a֚l ha'a֣retz 'ache֔ret 'ashshe֥r loֽ'-yulּadetּe֖m shsha֑m veshsha֖m tּamֽutu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And I will cast you out, and your mother that bare you, into another country, where you were not born; and there shall you die."

וְהֵֽטַלְתִּ֣י אֹתְךָ֗ וְאֶֽת־אִמְּךָ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יְלָדַ֔תְךָ עַ֚ל הָאָ֣רֶץ אַחֶ֔רֶת אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־יֻלַּדְתֶּ֖ם שָׁ֑ם וְשָׁ֖ם תָּמֽוּתוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al-ha'a֗retz 'ashsher-he֛m menashsּe'i֥ym 'et-napeshsha֖m lashsh֣ub shsha֑m shsha֖mּah lo֥ yashshֽubu׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"But to the land whereunto they desire to return, There shall they not return."

וְעַל־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֛ם מְנַשְּׂאִ֥ים אֶת־נַפְשָׁ֖ם לָשׁ֣וּב שָׁ֑ם שָׁ֖מָּה לֹ֥א יָשֽׁוּבוּ׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ha'e֨tzeb nibeze֜h nap֗utz ha'i֤yshsh hazּeh֙ kּaneya֔hu 'i֨m-kּeli֔y 'e֥yn che֖petz bּ֑o madּ֤u'a hֽutalu֙ h֣u vezare'֔o vehu֨shshelek֔u 'al-ha'a֖retz 'ashshe֥r lo'-yadaֽ'u׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

הַעֶ֨צֶב נִבְזֶ֜ה נָפ֗וּץ הָאִ֤ישׁ הַזֶּה֙ כָּנְיָ֔הוּ אִ֨ם־כְּלִ֔י אֵ֥ין חֵ֖פֶץ בּ֑וֹ מַדּ֤וּעַ הֽוּטֲלוּ֙ ה֣וּא וְזַרְע֔וֹ וְהֻ֨שְׁלְכ֔וּ עַל־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יָדָֽעוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): e֥retz 'e֖retz 'a֑retz shshime'i֖y dּebar-yehvaֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

אֶ֥רֶץ אֶ֖רֶץ אָ֑רֶץ שִׁמְעִ֖י דְּבַר־יְהוָֽה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h kּiteb֞u 'et-ha'i֤yshsh hazּeh֙ 'ariyri֔y gּe֖ber lo'-yitzela֣ch bּeyama֑yv kּiy֩ lo֨ yitzela֜ch mizּare'֗o 'i֚yshsh yoshsheb֙ 'al-kּisּe֣ davi֔d umoshshe֥l '֖od bּiyhudaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD, "Write you this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah."

כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה כִּתְב֞וּ אֶת־הָאִ֤ישׁ הַזֶּה֙ עֲרִירִ֔י גֶּ֖בֶר לֹא־יִצְלַ֣ח בְּיָמָ֑יו כִּי֩ לֹ֨א יִצְלַ֜ח מִזַּרְע֗וֹ אִ֚ישׁ יֹשֵׁב֙ עַל־כִּסֵּ֣א דָוִ֔ד וּמֹשֵׁ֥ל ע֖וֹד בִּיהוּדָֽה׃
