Chapter 31

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּa'e֤t hahiy'֙ ne'um-yehva֔h 'eֽheyeh֙ leֽ'lohi֔ym leko֖l mishshepּech֣ot yishsera'e֑l vehe֖mּah yiֽheyu-li֥y le'aֽm׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"At the same time," says the LORD, "will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people."

בָּעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה אֶֽהְיֶה֙ לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים לְכֹ֖ל מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהֵ֖מָּה יִֽהְיוּ־לִ֥י לְעָֽם׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֚h 'ama֣r yehva֔h matza֥ chen֙ bּamּidebּa֔r 'a֖m shseri֣ydey cha֑reb hal֥oke leharegּiy'֖o yishsera'eֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD, "The people who were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest."

כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה מָצָ֥א חֵן֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר עַ֖ם שְׂרִ֣ידֵי חָ֑רֶב הָל֥וֹךְ לְהַרְגִּיע֖וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): merach֕oq yehva֖h nire'a֣h li֑y ve'ahaba֤t 'olam֙ 'ahabetּi֔yke 'al-kּe֖n meshshaketּi֥yke chaֽsed׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying, "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you."

מֵרָח֕וֹק יְהוָ֖ה נִרְאָ֣ה לִ֑י וְאַהֲבַ֤ת עוֹלָם֙ אֲהַבְתִּ֔יךְ עַל־כֵּ֖ן מְשַׁכְתִּ֥יךְ חָֽסֶד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ֤od 'ebeneke֙ veֽnibene֔yt bּetula֖t yishsera'e֑l '֚od tּa'edּi֣y tupּa֔yike veyatza֖'t bּimech֥ol meshsachaqiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel: you shall again be adorned with your tabrets, and shall go forth in the dances of them that make merry."

ע֤וֹד אֶבְנֵךְ֙ וְֽנִבְנֵ֔ית בְּתוּלַ֖ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל ע֚וֹד תַּעְדִּ֣י תֻפַּ֔יִךְ וְיָצָ֖את בִּמְח֥וֹל מְשַׂחֲקִֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ֚od tּitּe'i֣y kerami֔ym bּehare֖y shshoֽmer֑on nate'֥u note'i֖ym vechilּeֽlu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"You shall yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things."

ע֚וֹד תִּטְּעִ֣י כְרָמִ֔ים בְּהָרֵ֖י שֹֽׁמְר֑וֹן נָטְע֥וּ נֹטְעִ֖ים וְחִלֵּֽלוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֣y yeshsh-y֔om qare'֥u notzeri֖ym bּeha֣r 'epera֑yim q֚umu vena'ale֣h tziyּ֔on 'el-yehva֖h 'eloheֽynu׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)"For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, 'Arise you, and let us go up to Zion to the LORD our God.'"

כִּ֣י יֶשׁ־י֔וֹם קָרְא֥וּ נֹצְרִ֖ים בְּהַ֣ר אֶפְרָ֑יִם ק֚וּמוּ וְנַעֲלֶ֣ה צִיּ֔וֹן אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּiy-ko֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h ranּ֤u leyaֽ'aqob֙ shsimecha֔h vetzahal֖u bּero֣'shsh hagּoyi֑m hashshemi֤y'u haֽlelu֙ ve'imer֔u hoshsha֤ yehvah֙ 'eֽt-'amּeka֔ 'e֖t shshe'eri֥yt yishsera'eֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)For thus says the LORD; "Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish you, praise you, and say, 'O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel.'"

כִּי־כֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה רָנּ֤וּ לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ שִׂמְחָ֔ה וְצַהֲל֖וּ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ הַגּוֹיִ֑ם הַשְׁמִ֤יעוּ הַֽלְלוּ֙ וְאִמְר֔וּ הוֹשַׁ֤ע יְהוָה֙ אֶֽת־עַמְּךָ֔ אֵ֖ת שְׁאֵרִ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): hineniy֩ mebi֨y 'ota֜m me'e֣retz tzap֗on veqibּatzetּiym֮ miyּarekּetey-'aretz֒ bּa֚m 'iue֣r upisּe֔cha hara֥h veyole֖det yachedּa֑v qaha֥l gּad֖ol yashsh֥ubu heֽnּah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travails with child together: a great company shall return There."

הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אוֹתָ֜ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֗וֹן וְקִבַּצְתִּים֮ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־אָרֶץ֒ בָּ֚ם עִוֵּ֣ר וּפִסֵּ֔חַ הָרָ֥ה וְיֹלֶ֖דֶת יַחְדָּ֑ו קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל יָשׁ֥וּבוּ הֵֽנָּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּibeki֣y yabo֗'u uֽbetachanuniym֮ 'ֽobiylem֒ 'ֽoliykem֙ 'el-na֣chaley ma֔yim bּede֣reke yashsha֔r lo֥ yikּashshel֖u bּa֑hּ kּiֽy-hayi֤ytiy leyishsera'el֙ le'a֔b ve'epera֖yim bּeko֥riy hֽu'׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn."

בִּבְכִ֣י יָבֹ֗אוּ וּֽבְתַחֲנוּנִים֮ אֽוֹבִילֵם֒ אֽוֹלִיכֵם֙ אֶל־נַ֣חֲלֵי מַ֔יִם בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יָשָׁ֔ר לֹ֥א יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ בָּ֑הּ כִּֽי־הָיִ֤יתִי לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְאָ֔ב וְאֶפְרַ֖יִם בְּכֹ֥רִי הֽוּא׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): shshime'֤u debar-yehvah֙ gּoyi֔m vehagּi֥ydu ba'iyּi֖ym mimּerecha֑q ve'imer֗u mezare֤h yishsera'el֙ yeqabּetze֔nּu ushshemar֖o kּero'e֥h 'ederֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Hear the word of the LORD, O you nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, 'He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.'"

שִׁמְע֤וּ דְבַר־יְהוָה֙ גּוֹיִ֔ם וְהַגִּ֥ידוּ בָאִיִּ֖ים מִמֶּרְחָ֑ק וְאִמְר֗וּ מְזָרֵ֤ה יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יְקַבְּצֶ֔נּוּ וּשְׁמָר֖וֹ כְּרֹעֶ֥ה עֶדְרֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּiֽy-pada֥h yehva֖h 'eֽt-ya'aqo֑b uge'al֕o miyּa֖d chaza֥q mimּeֽnּu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he."

כִּֽי־פָדָ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶֽת־יַעֲקֹ֑ב וּגְאָל֕וֹ מִיַּ֖ד חָזָ֥ק מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): uba'u֮ verinּen֣u bimerom-tziyּon֒ venahar֞u 'el-t֣ub yehva֗h 'al-dּagan֙ ve'al-tּiyro֣shsh ve'al-yitzeha֔r ve'al-bּeney-tzo֖'n ubaqa֑r vehayeta֤h napeshsham֙ kּega֣n rave֔h velo'-yosi֥ypu leda'aba֖h 'ֽod׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all."

וּבָאוּ֮ וְרִנְּנ֣וּ בִמְרוֹם־צִיּוֹן֒ וְנָהֲר֞וּ אֶל־ט֣וּב יְהוָ֗ה עַל־דָּגָן֙ וְעַל־תִּירֹ֣שׁ וְעַל־יִצְהָ֔ר וְעַל־בְּנֵי־צֹ֖אן וּבָקָ֑ר וְהָיְתָ֤ה נַפְשָׁם֙ כְּגַ֣ן רָוֶ֔ה וְלֹא־יוֹסִ֥יפוּ לְדַאֲבָ֖ה עֽוֹד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): a֣z tּishsema֤ch bּetulah֙ bּemach֔ol ubachuri֥ym uzeqeni֖ym yachedּa֑v vehapaketּi֨y 'ebela֤m leshsashson֙ veni֣chametּi֔ym veshsimּachetּi֖ym miygonaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow."

אָ֣ז תִּשְׂמַ֤ח בְּתוּלָה֙ בְּמָח֔וֹל וּבַחֻרִ֥ים וּזְקֵנִ֖ים יַחְדָּ֑ו וְהָפַכְתִּ֨י אֶבְלָ֤ם לְשָׂשׂוֹן֙ וְנִ֣חַמְתִּ֔ים וְשִׂמַּחְתִּ֖ים מִיגוֹנָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veriueyti֛y ne֥peshsh hakּohani֖ym dּa֑shshen ve'amּi֛y 'et-tubi֥y yishsebּa֖'u ne'um-yehvaֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and My people shall be satisfied with My goodness," says the LORD.

וְרִוֵּיתִ֛י נֶ֥פֶשׁ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים דָּ֑שֶׁן וְעַמִּ֛י אֶת־טוּבִ֥י יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h q֣ol bּerama֤h nishshema'֙ nehiy֙ bּeki֣y tameruri֔ym rache֖l mebakּa֣h 'al-bּane֑yha me'ana֛h lehinּache֥m 'al-bּane֖yha kּi֥y 'eyneֽnּu׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD; "A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not."

כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה ק֣וֹל בְּרָמָ֤ה נִשְׁמָע֙ נְהִי֙ בְּכִ֣י תַמְרוּרִ֔ים רָחֵ֖ל מְבַכָּ֣ה עַל־בָּנֶ֑יהָ מֵאֲנָ֛ה לְהִנָּחֵ֥ם עַל־בָּנֶ֖יהָ כִּ֥י אֵינֶֽנּוּ׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h mine'i֤y qoleke֙ mibּe֔kiy ve'eyna֖yike midּime'a֑h kּiy֩ ye֨shsh shsaka֤r lipe'ulּateke֙ ne'um-yehva֔h veshsha֖bu me'e֥retz 'oyeֽb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD; "Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears: for your work shall be rewarded," says the LORD; "and they shall come again from the land of the enemy."

כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה מִנְעִ֤י קוֹלֵךְ֙ מִבֶּ֔כִי וְעֵינַ֖יִךְ מִדִּמְעָ֑ה כִּי֩ יֵ֨שׁ שָׂכָ֤ר לִפְעֻלָּתֵךְ֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה וְשָׁ֖בוּ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ אוֹיֵֽב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veyeshsh-tּiqeva֥h le'achariyte֖ke ne'um-yehva֑h veshsha֥bu bani֖ym ligebulaֽm׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"And there is hope in your end," says the LORD, "that your children shall come again to their own border."

וְיֵשׁ־תִּקְוָ֥ה לְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה וְשָׁ֥בוּ בָנִ֖ים לִגְבוּלָֽם׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): shsham֣o'a shshama֗'etּiy 'epera֨yim֙ mitenode֔d yisּaretּa֨niy֙ vaֽ'iuase֔r kּe'e֖gel lo֣ lumּa֑d hashshiybe֣niy ve'ashsh֔ubah kּi֥y 'atּa֖h yehva֥h 'elohaֽy׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; 'You hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn You me, and I shall be turned; for You are the LORD my God.'"

שָׁמ֣וֹעַ שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי אֶפְרַ֨יִם֙ מִתְנוֹדֵ֔ד יִסַּרְתַּ֨נִי֙ וָֽאִוָּסֵ֔ר כְּעֵ֖גֶל לֹ֣א לֻמָּ֑ד הֲשִׁיבֵ֣נִי וְאָשׁ֔וּבָה כִּ֥י אַתָּ֖ה יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּiֽy-'achare֤y shshubiy֙ nicha֔metּiy ve'aֽcharey֙ hiua֣de'i֔y sapa֖qetּiy 'al-yare֑ke bּo֚shshetּiy vegam-nikela֔metּiy kּi֥y nashsa֖'tiy cherepּa֥t ne'uraֽy׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"'Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.'"

כִּֽי־אַחֲרֵ֤י שׁוּבִי֙ נִחַ֔מְתִּי וְאַֽחֲרֵי֙ הִוָּ֣דְעִ֔י סָפַ֖קְתִּי עַל־יָרֵ֑ךְ בֹּ֚שְׁתִּי וְגַם־נִכְלַ֔מְתִּי כִּ֥י נָשָׂ֖אתִי חֶרְפַּ֥ת נְעוּרָֽי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haben֩ yaqּi֨yr li֜y 'epera֗yim 'i֚m ye֣led shsha'ashshu'i֔ym kּiֽy-midּe֤y dabּeriy֙ bּ֔o zako֥r 'ezekּere֖nּu '֑od 'al-kּe֗n ham֤u me'ay֙ l֔o rache֥m 'aֽrachame֖nּu ne'um-yehvaֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"Is Ephraim My dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore My bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him," says the LORD.

הֲבֵן֩ יַקִּ֨יר לִ֜י אֶפְרַ֗יִם אִ֚ם יֶ֣לֶד שַׁעֲשֻׁעִ֔ים כִּֽי־מִדֵּ֤י דַבְּרִי֙ בּ֔וֹ זָכֹ֥ר אֶזְכְּרֶ֖נּוּ ע֑וֹד עַל־כֵּ֗ן הָמ֤וּ מֵעַי֙ ל֔וֹ רַחֵ֥ם אֲֽרַחֲמֶ֖נּוּ נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hatzּi֧ybiy la֣ke tziyּuni֗ym shsi֤miy lake֙ tּameruri֔ym shshi֣tiy libּe֔ke laֽmesilּa֖h dּe֣reke hlkty hala֑ketּe shsh֚ubiy bּetula֣t yishsera'e֔l shshu֖biy 'el-'ara֥yike 'eֽlּeh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Set you up waymarks, make you high heaps: set your heart toward the highway, even the way which you wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these your cities."

הַצִּ֧יבִי לָ֣ךְ צִיֻּנִ֗ים שִׂ֤מִי לָךְ֙ תַּמְרוּרִ֔ים שִׁ֣תִי לִבֵּ֔ךְ לַֽמְסִלָּ֖ה דֶּ֣רֶךְ הלכתי הָלָ֑כְתְּ שׁ֚וּבִי בְּתוּלַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שֻׁ֖בִי אֶל־עָרַ֥יִךְ אֵֽלֶּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ad-matay֙ tּitechamּaqi֔yn habּa֖t hashshּֽobeba֑h kּiֽy-bara֨ yehva֤h chadashshah֙ bּa'a֔retz neqeba֖h tּes֥obeֽb gּaֽber׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"How long will you go about, O you backsliding daughter? for the LORD has created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man."

עַד־מָתַי֙ תִּתְחַמָּקִ֔ין הַבַּ֖ת הַשּֽׁוֹבֵבָ֑ה כִּֽי־בָרָ֨א יְהוָ֤ה חֲדָשָׁה֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ נְקֵבָ֖ה תְּס֥וֹבֵֽב גָּֽבֶר׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּoֽh-'ama֞r yehva֤h tzeba'ot֙ 'elohe֣y yishsera'e֔l '֣od yo'mer֞u 'et-hadּaba֣r hazּe֗h bּe'e֤retz yehudah֙ ube'ara֔yv bּeshshubi֖y 'et-shshebuta֑m yebarekeka֧ yehva֛h neveh-tze֖deq ha֥r haqּoֽdeshsh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; 'The LORD bless you, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.'"

כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל ע֣וֹד יֹאמְר֞וּ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֗ה בְּאֶ֤רֶץ יְהוּדָה֙ וּבְעָרָ֔יו בְּשׁוּבִ֖י אֶת־שְׁבוּתָ֑ם יְבָרֶכְךָ֧ יְהוָ֛ה נְוֵה־צֶ֖דֶק הַ֥ר הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veya֥shshebu ba֛hּ yehuda֥h vekal-'ara֖yv yachedּa֑v 'ikּari֕ym venase'֖u bּa'eֽder׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, farmers, and they that go forth with flocks."

וְיָ֥שְׁבוּ בָ֛הּ יְהוּדָ֥ה וְכָל־עָרָ֖יו יַחְדָּ֑ו אִכָּרִ֕ים וְנָסְע֖וּ בַּעֵֽדֶר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֥y hireve֖ytiy ne֣peshsh 'ayepa֑h vekal-ne֥peshsh dּa'aba֖h milּeֽ'tiy׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul."

כִּ֥י הִרְוֵ֖יתִי נֶ֣פֶשׁ עֲיֵפָ֑ה וְכָל־נֶ֥פֶשׁ דָּאֲבָ֖ה מִלֵּֽאתִי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): al-zo֖'t heqiytzo֣tiy va'ere'e֑h ushshenati֖y 'a֥rebah lּiֽy׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet to me.

עַל־זֹ֖את הֱקִיצֹ֣תִי וָאֶרְאֶ֑ה וּשְׁנָתִ֖י עָ֥רְבָה לִּֽי׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hinּe֛h yami֥ym bּa'i֖ym ne'um-yehva֑h vezara'etּi֗y 'et-bּe֤yt yishsera'el֙ ve'et-bּe֣yt yehuda֔h ze֥ra 'ada֖m veze֥ra bּehemaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.

הִנֵּ֛ה יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה וְזָרַעְתִּ֗י אֶת־בֵּ֤ית יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאֶת־בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה זֶ֥רַע אָדָ֖ם וְזֶ֥רַע בְּהֵמָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehaya֞h kּa'ashshe֧r shshaqa֣detּiy 'aleyhe֗m linet֧oshsh velinet֛otz velaharo֖s uleha'abi֣yd ulehare֑'a kּe֣n 'eshsheqo֧d 'aleyhe֛m liben֥ot velinet֖o'a ne'um-yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, says the LORD.

וְהָיָ֞ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֧ר שָׁקַ֣דְתִּי עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם לִנְת֧וֹשׁ וְלִנְת֛וֹץ וְלַהֲרֹ֖ס וּלְהַאֲבִ֣יד וּלְהָרֵ֑עַ כֵּ֣ן אֶשְׁקֹ֧ד עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם לִבְנ֥וֹת וְלִנְט֖וֹעַ נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּayּami֣ym hahe֔m lo'-yo'mer֣u '֔od 'ab֖ot 'a֣kelu bo֑ser veshshinּe֥y bani֖ym tּiqeheֽynah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)In those days they shall say no more, "The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge."

בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם לֹא־יֹאמְר֣וּ ע֔וֹד אָב֖וֹת אָ֣כְלוּ בֹ֑סֶר וְשִׁנֵּ֥י בָנִ֖ים תִּקְהֶֽינָה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֛y 'im-'i֥yshsh bּa'avon֖o yam֑ut kּal-haֽ'ada֛m ha'oke֥l habּo֖ser tּiqehe֥ynah shshinּaֽyv׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

כִּ֛י אִם־אִ֥ישׁ בַּעֲוֺנ֖וֹ יָמ֑וּת כָּל־הָֽאָדָ֛ם הָאֹכֵ֥ל הַבֹּ֖סֶר תִּקְהֶ֥ינָה שִׁנָּֽיו׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hinּe֛h yami֥ym bּa'i֖ym ne'um-yehva֑h vekaratּi֗y 'et-bּe֧yt yishsera'e֛l ve'et-bּe֥yt yehuda֖h bּeri֥yt chadashshaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will make a [1] new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

הִנֵּ֛ה יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה וְכָרַתִּ֗י אֶת־בֵּ֧ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וְאֶת־בֵּ֥ית יְהוּדָ֖ה בְּרִ֥ית חֲדָשָֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): lo֣ kabּeri֗yt 'ashshe֤r kּara֨tּiy֙ 'et-'abota֔m bּeyom֙ hecheziyqi֣y beyada֔m lehotziy'a֖m me'e֖retz mitzera֑yim 'ashsher-he֜mּah hepe֣ru 'et-bּeriyti֗y ve'anoki֛y bּa'a֥letּiy ba֖m ne'um-yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant they brake, although I was an husband to them, says the LORD:

לֹ֣א כַבְּרִ֗ית אֲשֶׁ֤ר כָּרַ֨תִּי֙ אֶת־אֲבוֹתָ֔ם בְּיוֹם֙ הֶחֱזִיקִ֣י בְיָדָ֔ם לְהוֹצִיאָ֖ם מֵאֶ֖רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֜מָּה הֵפֵ֣רוּ אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֗י וְאָנֹכִ֛י בָּעַ֥לְתִּי בָ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֣y zo֣'t habּeri֡yt 'ashshe֣r 'ekerot֩ 'et-bּe֨yt yishsera'e֜l 'achare֨y hayּami֤ym hahem֙ ne'um-yehva֔h nata֤tּiy 'et-tּֽoratiy֙ bּeqirebּa֔m ve'al-libּa֖m 'eketּabe֑nּah vehayi֤ytiy lahem֙ leֽ'lohi֔ym vehe֖mּah yiֽheyu-li֥y le'aֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people.

כִּ֣י זֹ֣את הַבְּרִ֡ית אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶכְרֹת֩ אֶת־בֵּ֨ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אַחֲרֵ֨י הַיָּמִ֤ים הָהֵם֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה נָתַ֤תִּי אֶת־תּֽוֹרָתִי֙ בְּקִרְבָּ֔ם וְעַל־לִבָּ֖ם אֶכְתֲּבֶ֑נָּה וְהָיִ֤יתִי לָהֶם֙ לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים וְהֵ֖מָּה יִֽהְיוּ־לִ֥י לְעָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): velo֧ yelamּed֣u '֗od 'i֣yshsh 'et-re'e֜hu ve'i֤yshsh 'et-'achiyv֙ le'mo֔r dּe'֖u 'et-yehva֑h kּiֽy-kulּam֩ yede'֨u 'oti֜y lemiqetanּa֤m ve'ad-gּedolam֙ ne'um-yehva֔h kּi֤y 'eselach֙ laֽ'avona֔m ulechatּa'ta֖m lo֥ 'ezekּar-'ֽod׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, "Know the LORD:" for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

וְלֹ֧א יְלַמְּד֣וּ ע֗וֹד אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵ֜הוּ וְאִ֤ישׁ אֶת־אָחִיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר דְּע֖וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֑ה כִּֽי־כוּלָּם֩ יֵדְע֨וּ אוֹתִ֜י לְמִקְטַנָּ֤ם וְעַד־גְּדוֹלָם֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֤י אֶסְלַח֙ לַֽעֲוֺנָ֔ם וּלְחַטָּאתָ֖ם לֹ֥א אֶזְכָּר־עֽוֹד׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h note֥n shshe֨meshsh֙ le'֣or yoma֔m chuqּo֛t yare֥cha vekokabi֖ym le'֣or la֑yelah roga֤ hayּam֙ vayּehem֣u galּa֔yv yehva֥h tzeba'֖ot shshemֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD, which gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divides the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is His name:

כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה נֹתֵ֥ן שֶׁ֨מֶשׁ֙ לְא֣וֹר יוֹמָ֔ם חֻקֹּ֛ת יָרֵ֥חַ וְכוֹכָבִ֖ים לְא֣וֹר לָ֑יְלָה רֹגַ֤ע הַיָּם֙ וַיֶּהֱמ֣וּ גַלָּ֔יו יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): im-yamu֜shshu hachuqּi֥ym ha'e֛lּeh milּepana֖y ne'um-yehva֑h gּam֩ ze֨ra yishsera'e֜l yishshebּet֗u miֽhey֥ot gּ֛oy lepana֖y kּal-hayּamiֽym׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)"If those ordinances depart from before Me," says the LORD, "then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever."

אִם־יָמֻ֜שׁוּ הַחֻקִּ֥ים הָאֵ֛לֶּה מִלְּפָנַ֖י נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה גַּם֩ זֶ֨רַע יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל יִשְׁבְּת֗וּ מִֽהְי֥וֹת גּ֛וֹי לְפָנַ֖י כָּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֣h ׀ 'ama֣r yehva֗h 'im-yimּa֤dּu shshama֨yim֙ milema֔'elah veyechaqer֥u mֽosedey-'e֖retz lema֑tּah gּam-'ani֞y 'eme'a֨s bּekal-ze֧ra yishsera'e֛l 'aֽl-kּal-'ashshe֥r 'ashs֖u ne'um-yehvaֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Thus says the LORD; "If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done," says the LORD.

כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אִם־יִמַּ֤דּוּ שָׁמַ֨יִם֙ מִלְמַ֔עְלָה וְיֵחָקְר֥וּ מֽוֹסְדֵי־אֶ֖רֶץ לְמָ֑טָּה גַּם־אֲנִ֞י אֶמְאַ֨ס בְּכָל־זֶ֧רַע יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל עַֽל־כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשׂ֖וּ נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hinּe֛h yami֥ym bּa'i֖ym ne'um-yehva֑h venibeneta֤h ha'iyr֙ laֽyhva֔h mimּigedּa֥l chanane'e֖l shsha֥'ar hapּinּaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel to the gate of the corner.

הִנֵּ֛ה יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה וְנִבְנְתָ֤ה הָעִיר֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה מִמִּגְדַּ֥ל חֲנַנְאֵ֖ל שַׁ֥עַר הַפִּנָּֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veyatza֨ '֜od qvh qa֤v hamּidּah֙ negedּ֔o 'a֖l gּibe'a֣t gּare֑b venasa֖b gּo'aֽtah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

וְיָצָ֨א ע֜וֹד קוה קָ֤ו הַמִּדָּה֙ נֶגְדּ֔וֹ עַ֖ל גִּבְעַ֣ת גָּרֵ֑ב וְנָסַ֖ב גֹּעָֽתָה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vekal-ha'e֣meq hapּegari֣ym ׀ vehadּe֡shshen vekaֽl-hshrmvt hashshּedemot֩ 'ad-na֨chal qider֜on 'ad-pּinּa֨t shsha֤'ar hasּusiym֙ mizera֔chah qo֖deshsh laֽyhva֑h loֽ'-yinּate֧shsh veֽlo'-yehare֛s '֖od le'olaֽm׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy to the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever.

וְכָל־הָעֵ֣מֶק הַפְּגָרִ֣ים ׀ וְהַדֶּ֡שֶׁן וְכָֽל־השרמות הַשְּׁדֵמוֹת֩ עַד־נַ֨חַל קִדְר֜וֹן עַד־פִּנַּ֨ת שַׁ֤עַר הַסּוּסִים֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה קֹ֖דֶשׁ לַֽיהוָ֑ה לֹֽא־יִנָּתֵ֧שׁ וְֽלֹא־יֵהָרֵ֛ס ע֖וֹד לְעוֹלָֽם׃ס
