Chapter 52
1
Phonetic (Hebrew): bּen-'eshseri֨ym ve'acha֤t shshanah֙ tzideqiyּa֣hu bemalek֔o ve'acha֤t 'eshsereh֙ shshana֔h mala֖ke bּiyrֽushshala֑im veshshe֣m 'imּ֔o chmytl chamuta֥l bּaֽt-yiremeya֖hu milּibenaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְאַחַ֤ת שָׁנָה֙ צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ בְמָלְכ֔וֹ וְאַחַ֤ת עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ חמיטל חֲמוּטַ֥ל בַּֽת־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֥'ashs hara֖ bּe'eyne֣y yehva֑h kּeko֥l 'ashsher-'ashsa֖h yehoyaqiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֖ה יְהוֹיָקִֽים׃

3
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֣y ׀ 'al-'a֣p yehva֗h haֽyetah֙ bּiyrushshala֣im viֽyhuda֔h 'ad-hishsheliyk֥o 'ota֖m me'a֣l pּana֑yv vayּimero֥d tzideqiyּa֖hu bּeme֥leke bּabeֽl׃
Edified Edition (EDE)For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till He had cast them out from His presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

כִּ֣י ׀ עַל־אַ֣ף יְהוָ֗ה הָֽיְתָה֙ בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֣ם וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה עַד־הִשְׁלִיכ֥וֹ אוֹתָ֖ם מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֑יו וַיִּמְרֹ֥ד צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ בְּמֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayehiy֩ bashshּana֨h hatּeshshi'i֜yt lemalek֗o bּacho֣deshsh ha'ashsiyriy֮ bּe'ashs֣or lachodeshsh֒ bּa֠ nebukadere'tzּa֨r meֽleke-bּabe֜l h֤u vekal-cheylo֙ 'al-yer֣ushshalai֔m vaֽyּachan֖u 'ale֑yha vayּiben֥u 'ale֛yha dּaye֖q sabiֽyb׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.

וַיְהִי֩ בַשָּׁנָ֨ה הַתְּשִׁעִ֜ית לְמָלְכ֗וֹ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִי֮ בֶּעָשׂ֣וֹר לַחֹדֶשׁ֒ בָּ֠א נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֨ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֜ל ה֤וּא וְכָל־חֵילוֹ֙ עַל־יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ עָלֶ֑יהָ וַיִּבְנ֥וּ עָלֶ֛יהָ דָּיֵ֖ק סָבִֽיב׃

5
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּabo֥ ha'i֖yr bּamּatz֑or 'a֚d 'ashshetּe֣y 'eshsere֣h shshana֔h lamּe֖leke tzideqiyּaֽhu׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So the city was besieged until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

וַתָּבֹ֥א הָעִ֖יר בַּמָּצ֑וֹר עַ֚ד עַשְׁתֵּ֣י עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּֽהוּ׃

6
Phonetic (Hebrew): bּacho֤deshsh haֽrebiy'iy֙ bּetishshe'a֣h lacho֔deshsh vayּecheza֥q hara'a֖b bּa'i֑yr velo'-haya֥h le֖chem le'a֥m ha'aֽretz׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

בַּחֹ֤דֶשׁ הָֽרְבִיעִי֙ בְּתִשְׁעָ֣ה לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ וַיֶּחֱזַ֥ק הָרָעָ֖ב בָּעִ֑יר וְלֹא־הָיָ֥ה לֶ֖חֶם לְעַ֥ם הָאָֽרֶץ׃

7
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּibּaqa֣ ha'i֗yr vekal-'aneshshe֣y hamּilechama֡h yiberechu֩ vayּetze'֨u meha'i֜yr la֗yelah dּe֜reke shsha֤'ar bּeyn-hachomota֨yim֙ 'ashsher֙ 'al-gּa֣n hamּe֔leke vekashsedּi֥ym 'al-ha'i֖yr sabi֑yb vayּelek֖u dּe֥reke ha'arabaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.

וַתִּבָּקַ֣ע הָעִ֗יר וְכָל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֡ה יִבְרְחוּ֩ וַיֵּצְא֨וּ מֵהָעִ֜יר לַ֗יְלָה דֶּ֜רֶךְ שַׁ֤עַר בֵּין־הַחֹמֹתַ֨יִם֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל־גַּ֣ן הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְכַשְׂדִּ֥ים עַל־הָעִ֖יר סָבִ֑יב וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ דֶּ֥רֶךְ הָעֲרָבָֽה׃

8
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiredּep֤u cheyl-kּashsedּiym֙ 'achare֣y hamּe֔leke vayּashsּi֥ygu 'et-tzideqiyּa֖hu bּe'aֽrebo֣t yerech֑o vekal-cheyl֔o napo֖tzu me'alaֽyv׃
Edified Edition (EDE)But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

וַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּ חֵיל־כַּשְׂדִּים֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיַּשִּׂ֥יגוּ אֶת־צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ בְּעַֽרְבֹ֣ת יְרֵח֑וֹ וְכָל־חֵיל֔וֹ נָפֹ֖צוּ מֵעָלָֽיו׃

9
Phonetic (Hebrew): vaֽyּitepּeshsu֙ 'et-hamּe֔leke vayּa'al֨u 'ot֜o 'el-me֧leke bּabe֛l ribela֖tah bּe'e֣retz chama֑t vayedabּe֥r 'itּ֖o mishshepּatiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgement upon him.

וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂוּ֙ אֶת־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיַּעֲל֨וּ אֹת֜וֹ אֶל־מֶ֧לֶךְ בָּבֶ֛ל רִבְלָ֖תָה בְּאֶ֣רֶץ חֲמָ֑ת וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר אִתּ֖וֹ מִשְׁפָּטִֽים׃

10
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּishshecha֧t meֽleke-bּabe֛l 'et-bּene֥y tzideqiyּa֖hu le'eyna֑yv vega֛m 'et-kּal-shsare֥y yehuda֖h shshacha֥t bּeribelaֽtah׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

וַיִּשְׁחַ֧ט מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֛ל אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ לְעֵינָ֑יו וְגַ֛ם אֶת־כָּל־שָׂרֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה שָׁחַ֥ט בְּרִבְלָֽתָה׃

11
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-'eyne֥y tzideqiyּa֖hu 'iue֑r vayּa'asere֣hu baֽnechushshetּa֗yim vayebi'e֤hu meֽleke-bּabel֙ bּabe֔lah vayּitּene֥hu bbyt beֽyt-hapּequdּo֖t 'ad-y֥om motֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

וְאֶת־עֵינֵ֥י צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ עִוֵּ֑ר וַיַּאַסְרֵ֣הוּ בַֽנְחֻשְׁתַּ֗יִם וַיְבִאֵ֤הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל֙ בָּבֶ֔לָה וַיִּתְּנֵ֥הוּ בבית בֵֽית־הַפְּקֻדֹּ֖ת עַד־י֥וֹם מוֹתֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ubacho֤deshsh hֽachamiyshshiy֙ bּe'ashs֣or lacho֔deshsh hi֗y shshenat֙ tּeshshaֽ'-'eshsere֣h shshana֔h lamּe֖leke nebukadere'tzּa֣r meֽleke-bּabe֑l bּa֗ nebֽuzare'adan֙ rab-tabּachi֔ym 'ama֛d lipene֥y meֽleke-bּabe֖l bּiyrushshalaiֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,

וּבַחֹ֤דֶשׁ הַֽחֲמִישִׁי֙ בֶּעָשׂ֣וֹר לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ הִ֗יא שְׁנַת֙ תְּשַֽׁע־עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֑ל בָּ֗א נְבֽוּזַרְאֲדָן֙ רַב־טַבָּחִ֔ים עָמַ֛ד לִפְנֵ֥י מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

13
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּishsero֥p 'et-bּeyt-yehva֖h ve'et-bּe֣yt hamּe֑leke ve'e֨t kּal-bּatּe֧y yerushshala֛im ve'et-kּal-bּe֥yt hagּad֖ol shsara֥p bּa'eֽshsh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:

וַיִּשְׂרֹ֥ף אֶת־בֵּית־יְהוָ֖ה וְאֶת־בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־בָּתֵּ֧י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֛ם וְאֶת־כָּל־בֵּ֥ית הַגָּד֖וֹל שָׂרַ֥ף בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

14
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-kּal-chom֥ot yerushshala֖im sabi֑yb naֽtetzu֙ kּal-che֣yl kּashsedּi֔ym 'ashshe֖r 'et-rab-tabּachiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

וְאֶת־כָּל־חֹמ֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם סָבִ֑יב נָֽתְצוּ֙ כָּל־חֵ֣יל כַּשְׂדִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר אֶת־רַב־טַבָּחִֽים׃

15
Phonetic (Hebrew): umidּalּ֨ot ha'a֜m veֽ'et-ye֥ter ha'a֣m ׀ hanּishshe'ari֣ym bּa'i֗yr ve'et-hanּoֽpeliym֙ 'ashshe֤r naֽpelu֙ 'el-me֣leke bּabe֔l ve'e֖t ye֣ter haֽ'am֑on hegela֕h nebuzare'ada֖n rab-tabּachiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

וּמִדַּלּ֨וֹת הָעָ֜ם וְֽאֶת־יֶ֥תֶר הָעָ֣ם ׀ הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים בָּעִ֗יר וְאֶת־הַנֹּֽפְלִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָֽפְלוּ֙ אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וְאֵ֖ת יֶ֣תֶר הָֽאָמ֑וֹן הֶגְלָ֕ה נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֖ן רַב־טַבָּחִֽים׃

16
Phonetic (Hebrew): umidּalּ֣ot ha'a֔retz hishshe'i֕yr nebuzare'ada֖n rab-tabּachi֑ym lekoremi֖ym uleyogebiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for farmers.

וּמִדַּלּ֣וֹת הָאָ֔רֶץ הִשְׁאִ֕יר נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֖ן רַב־טַבָּחִ֑ים לְכֹרְמִ֖ים וּלְיֹגְבִֽים׃

17
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-'amּude֨y hanּecho֜shshet 'ashshe֣r lebeyt-yehva֗h veֽ'et-hamּekon֞ot ve'et-ya֧m hanּecho֛shshet 'ashshe֥r bּebeyt-yehva֖h shshibּer֣u kashsedּi֑ym vayּishse'֥u 'et-kּal-nechushshetּa֖m bּabeֽlah׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.

וְאֶת־עַמּוּדֵ֨י הַנְּחֹ֜שֶׁת אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְבֵית־יְהוָ֗ה וְֽאֶת־הַמְּכֹנ֞וֹת וְאֶת־יָ֧ם הַנְּחֹ֛שֶׁת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּבֵית־יְהוָ֖ה שִׁבְּר֣וּ כַשְׂדִּ֑ים וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ אֶת־כָּל־נְחֻשְׁתָּ֖ם בָּבֶֽלָה׃

18
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-ha֠sּirot ve'et-hayּa'i֨ym ve'et-haֽmezamּer֜ot ve'et-hamּizeraqo֣t ve'et-hakּapּ֗ot ve'e֨t kּal-kּele֧y hanּecho֛shshet 'ashsher-yeshsharet֥u bahe֖m laqaֽchu׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

וְאֶת־הַ֠סִּרוֹת וְאֶת־הַיָּעִ֨ים וְאֶת־הַֽמְזַמְּר֜וֹת וְאֶת־הַמִּזְרָקֹ֣ת וְאֶת־הַכַּפּ֗וֹת וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־כְּלֵ֧י הַנְּחֹ֛שֶׁת אֲשֶׁר־יְשָׁרְת֥וּ בָהֶ֖ם לָקָֽחוּ׃

19
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-ha֠sּipּiym ve'et-hamּachetּ֨ot ve'et-hamּizeraq֜ot ve'et-hasּiyr֣ot ve'et-hamּenor֗ot ve'et-hakּapּot֙ ve'et-hamּenaqiy֔ot 'ashshe֤r zahab֙ zaha֔b va'ashsher-kּe֖sep kּa֑sep laqa֖ch rab-tabּachiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And the basins, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.

וְאֶת־הַ֠סִּפִּים וְאֶת־הַמַּחְתּ֨וֹת וְאֶת־הַמִּזְרָק֜וֹת וְאֶת־הַסִּיר֣וֹת וְאֶת־הַמְּנֹר֗וֹת וְאֶת־הַכַּפּוֹת֙ וְאֶת־הַמְּנַקִי֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֤ר זָהָב֙ זָהָ֔ב וַאֲשֶׁר־כֶּ֖סֶף כָּ֑סֶף לָקַ֖ח רַב־טַבָּחִֽים׃

20
Phonetic (Hebrew): ha'amּudi֣ym ׀ shshena֗yim hayּa֤m 'echad֙ vehabּaqa֞r shsheneym-'ashsa֤r necho֨shshet֙ 'ashsher-tּa֣chat hamּekon֔ot 'ashshe֥r 'ashsa֛h hamּe֥leke shshelomo֖h lebe֣yt yehva֑h lo'-haya֣h mishsheqa֔l linechushshetּa֖m kּal-hakּeli֥ym ha'eֽlּeh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brazen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

הָעַמּוּדִ֣ים ׀ שְׁנַ֗יִם הַיָּ֤ם אֶחָד֙ וְהַבָּקָ֞ר שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֤ר נְחֹ֨שֶׁת֙ אֲשֶׁר־תַּ֣חַת הַמְּכֹנ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֛ה הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְבֵ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה לֹא־הָיָ֣ה מִשְׁקָ֔ל לִנְחֻשְׁתָּ֖ם כָּל־הַכֵּלִ֥ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

21
Phonetic (Hebrew): veha'amּudi֗ym shshemone֨h 'eshsere֤h 'amּah֙ qvmh qomat֙ ha'amּu֣d ha'echa֔d vech֛ut shshetּeym-'eshsere֥h 'amּa֖h yesubּe֑nּu ve'abey֛o 'arebּa֥ 'atzebּa'֖ot nabֽub׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

וְהָעַמּוּדִ֗ים שְׁמֹנֶ֨ה עֶשְׂרֵ֤ה אַמָּה֙ קומה קוֹמַת֙ הָעַמֻּ֣ד הָאֶחָ֔ד וְח֛וּט שְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה אַמָּ֖ה יְסֻבֶּ֑נּוּ וְעָבְי֛וֹ אַרְבַּ֥ע אַצְבָּע֖וֹת נָבֽוּב׃

22
Phonetic (Hebrew): vekote֨ret 'ala֜yv necho֗shshet veqoma֨t hakּote֥ret ha'achat֮ chame֣shsh 'amּot֒ ushsebaka֨h verimּoni֧ym 'aֽl-hakּote֛ret sabi֖yb hakּo֣l necho֑shshet veka'e֛lּeh laֽ'amּ֥ud hashshּeni֖y verimּoniֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were into these.

וְכֹתֶ֨רֶת עָלָ֜יו נְחֹ֗שֶׁת וְקוֹמַ֨ת הַכֹּתֶ֥רֶת הָאַחַת֮ חָמֵ֣שׁ אַמּוֹת֒ וּשְׂבָכָ֨ה וְרִמּוֹנִ֧ים עַֽל־הַכּוֹתֶ֛רֶת סָבִ֖יב הַכֹּ֣ל נְחֹ֑שֶׁת וְכָאֵ֛לֶּה לַֽעַמּ֥וּד הַשֵּׁנִ֖י וְרִמּוֹנִֽים׃

23
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiֽheyu֙ haֽrimּoni֔ym tּishshe'i֥ym veshshishshּa֖h r֑uchah kּal-harimּoni֥ym me'a֛h 'al-hashsּebaka֖h sabiֽyb׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.

וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ הָֽרִמֹּנִ֔ים תִּשְׁעִ֥ים וְשִׁשָּׁ֖ה ר֑וּחָה כָּל־הָרִמּוֹנִ֥ים מֵאָ֛ה עַל־הַשְּׂבָכָ֖ה סָבִֽיב׃

24
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֣ch rab-tabּachi֗ym 'et-shserayah֙ kּohe֣n haro֔'shsh ve'et-tzepaneya֖h kּohe֣n hamּishshene֑h ve'et-shshelo֖shshet shshomere֥y hasּaֽp׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:

וַיִּקַּ֣ח רַב־טַבָּחִ֗ים אֶת־שְׂרָיָה֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן הָרֹ֔אשׁ וְאֶת־צְפַנְיָ֖ה כֹּהֵ֣ן הַמִּשְׁנֶ֑ה וְאֶת־שְׁלֹ֖שֶׁת שֹׁמְרֵ֥י הַסַּֽף׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umin-ha'i֡yr laqach֩ sari֨ys 'echa֜d 'aֽshsher-haya֥h paqi֣yd ׀ 'al-'aneshshe֣y hamּilechama֗h veshshibe'a֨h 'anashshi֜ym mero'e֤y peney-hamּe֨leke֙ 'ashshe֣r nimetze'֣u ba'i֔yr ve'e֗t soper֙ shsa֣r hatzּaba֔ hamּatzebּi֖ 'et-'a֣m ha'a֑retz veshshishshּi֥ym 'iyshsh֙ me'a֣m ha'a֔retz haֽnּimetze'i֖ym bּet֥oke ha'iֽyr׃
Edified Edition (EDE)He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.

וּמִן־הָעִ֡יר לָקַח֩ סָרִ֨יס אֶחָ֜ד אֲֽשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה פָקִ֣יד ׀ עַל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה וְשִׁבְעָ֨ה אֲנָשִׁ֜ים מֵרֹאֵ֤י פְנֵי־הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִמְצְא֣וּ בָעִ֔יר וְאֵ֗ת סֹפֵר֙ שַׂ֣ר הַצָּבָ֔א הַמַּצְבִּ֖א אֶת־עַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ וְשִׁשִּׁ֥ים אִישׁ֙ מֵעַ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ הַֽנִּמְצְאִ֖ים בְּת֥וֹךְ הָעִֽיר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֣ch 'ota֔m nebuzare'ada֖n rab-tabּachi֑ym vayּo֧leke 'ota֛m 'el-me֥leke bּabe֖l ribelaֽtah׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

וַיִּקַּ֣ח אוֹתָ֔ם נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֖ן רַב־טַבָּחִ֑ים וַיֹּ֧לֶךְ אוֹתָ֛ם אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל רִבְלָֽתָה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּakּe֣h 'otam֩ me֨leke bּabe֧l vayemite֛m bּeribela֖h bּe'e֣retz chama֑t vayּi֥gel yehuda֖h me'a֥l 'adematֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.

וַיַּכֶּ֣ה אוֹתָם֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ בָּבֶ֧ל וַיְמִתֵ֛ם בְּרִבְלָ֖ה בְּאֶ֣רֶץ חֲמָ֑ת וַיִּ֥גֶל יְהוּדָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ze֣h ha'a֔m 'ashshe֥r hegela֖h nebֽukadere'tzּa֑r bּishshenat-shshe֕ba yehudi֕ym shshelo֥shshet 'alapi֖ym ve'eshseri֥ym ushsheloshshaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:

זֶ֣ה הָעָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶגְלָ֖ה נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֑ר בִּשְׁנַת־שֶׁ֕בַע יְהוּדִ֕ים שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֖ים וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּשְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּishshena֛t shshemone֥h 'eshsere֖h linebֽukadere'tzּa֑r miyr֣ushshalai֔m ne֕peshsh shshemone֥h me'֖ot shsheloshshi֥ym ushshenaֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:

בִּשְׁנַ֛ת שְׁמוֹנֶ֥ה עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה לִנְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֑ר מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם נֶ֕פֶשׁ שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וּשְׁנָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּishshena֨t shshalo֣shsh ve'eshseriym֮ linebֽukadere'tzּar֒ hegela֗h nebֽuzare'adan֙ rab-tabּachi֔ym yehudi֕ym ne֕peshsh shsheba֥ me'֖ot 'arebּa'i֣ym vachamishshּa֑h kּal-ne֕peshsh 'arebּa֥'at 'alapi֖ym veshshe֥shsh me'ֽot׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

בִּשְׁנַ֨ת שָׁלֹ֣שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִים֮ לִנְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּר֒ הֶגְלָ֗ה נְבֽוּזַרְאֲדָן֙ רַב־טַבָּחִ֔ים יְהוּדִ֕ים נֶ֕פֶשׁ שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת אַרְבָּעִ֣ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֑ה כָּל־נֶ֕פֶשׁ אַרְבַּ֥עַת אֲלָפִ֖ים וְשֵׁ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayehiy֩ bishsheloshshi֨ym vashshe֜ba shshana֗h legalut֙ yehoyaki֣n meֽleke-yehuda֔h bּishshene֤ym 'ashsar֙ cho֔deshsh bּe'eshseri֥ym vachamishshּa֖h lacho֑deshsh nashsa֡ 'evi֣yl merodake֩ me֨leke bּabe֜l bּishshena֣t malekut֗o 'et-ro'shsh֙ yehoyaki֣yn meֽleke-yehuda֔h vayּotze֥ 'ot֖o mibּe֥yt hkly hakּelֽu'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,

וַיְהִי֩ בִשְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים וָשֶׁ֜בַע שָׁנָ֗ה לְגָלוּת֙ יְהוֹיָכִ֣ן מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֔ה בִּשְׁנֵ֤ים עָשָׂר֙ חֹ֔דֶשׁ בְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ נָשָׂ֡א אֱוִ֣יל מְרֹדַךְ֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ בָּבֶ֜ל בִּשְׁנַ֣ת מַלְכֻת֗וֹ אֶת־רֹאשׁ֙ יְהוֹיָכִ֣ין מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֔ה וַיֹּצֵ֥א אוֹת֖וֹ מִבֵּ֥ית הכליא הַכְּלֽוּא׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r 'itּ֖o tob֑ot vayּitּen֙ 'et-kּise'֔o mimּa֗'al lekisּe֧ mlkym hamּelaki֛ym 'ashshe֥r 'itּ֖o bּebabeֽl׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר אִתּ֖וֹ טֹב֑וֹת וַיִּתֵּן֙ אֶת־כִּסְא֔וֹ מִמַּ֗עַל לְכִסֵּ֧א מלכים הַמְּלָכִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִתּ֖וֹ בְּבָבֶֽל׃

33
Phonetic (Hebrew): veshshinּa֕h 'e֖t bּigede֣y kile'֑o ve'aka֨l le֧chem lepana֛yv tּami֖yd kּal-yeme֥y chayּaֽv׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.

וְשִׁנָּ֕ה אֵ֖ת בִּגְדֵ֣י כִלְא֑וֹ וְאָכַ֨ל לֶ֧חֶם לְפָנָ֛יו תָּמִ֖יד כָּל־יְמֵ֥י חַיָּֽו׃

34
Phonetic (Hebrew): va'aruchat֗o 'aruchat֩ tּami֨yd nitּenah-lּ֜o me'e֧t meֽleke-bּabe֛l dּebar-y֥om bּeyom֖o 'ad-y֣om mot֑o kּo֖l yeme֥y chayּaֽyv׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

וַאֲרֻחָת֗וֹ אֲרֻחַת֩ תָּמִ֨יד נִתְּנָה־לּ֜וֹ מֵאֵ֧ת מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֛ל דְּבַר־י֥וֹם בְּיוֹמ֖וֹ עַד־י֣וֹם מוֹת֑וֹ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֥י חַיָּֽיו׃
