Chapter 25

Phonetic (Hebrew): va֭yּa'an bּiledּa֥d hashshּuchi֗y vayּo'maֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:

וַ֭יַּעַן בִּלְדַּ֥ד הַשֻּׁחִ֗י וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): hameshshe֣l vapa֣chad 'imּ֑o 'oshse֥h shsha֝l֗om bּimeromaֽyv׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven."

הַמְשֵׁ֣ל וָפַ֣חַד עִמּ֑וֹ עֹשֶׂ֥ה שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם בִּמְרוֹמָֽיו׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haye֣shsh mi֭sepּar ligeduda֑yv ve'al-mi֝֗y lo'-yaq֥um 'oreֽhu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Can his troops be numbered? On whom does his light not rise?"

הֲיֵ֣שׁ מִ֭סְפָּר לִגְדוּדָ֑יו וְעַל־מִ֝֗י לֹא־יָק֥וּם אוֹרֵֽהוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umah-yּitzedּa֣q 'en֣oshsh 'im-'e֑l umah-yּi֝zekּe֗h yel֣ud 'ishshּaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure?"

וּמַה־יִּצְדַּ֣ק אֱנ֣וֹשׁ עִם־אֵ֑ל וּמַה־יִּ֝זְכֶּ֗ה יְל֣וּד אִשָּֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): he֣n 'ad-ya֭recha velo֣ ya'ahi֑yl ve֝kokabi֗ym lo'-zakּ֥u be'eynaֽyv׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes,"

הֵ֣ן עַד־יָ֭רֵחַ וְלֹ֣א יַאֲהִ֑יל וְ֝כוֹכָבִ֗ים לֹא־זַכּ֥וּ בְעֵינָֽיו׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): a֭p kּiֽy-'en֣oshsh rimּa֑h uben-'a֝da֗m tּole'aֽh׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)"how much less man, who is but a maggot, a son of man, who is only a worm!"

אַ֭ף כִּֽי־אֱנ֣וֹשׁ רִמָּ֑ה וּבֶן־אָ֝דָ֗ם תּוֹלֵעָֽה׃פ
