Chapter 2

Phonetic (Hebrew): vene֗peshsh kּiֽy-taqeri֞yb qarebּa֤n minechah֙ laֽyhva֔h so֖let yiheye֣h qarebּan֑o veyatza֤q 'ale֨yha֙ shshe֔men venata֥n 'ale֖yha lebonaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)When anyone brings a grain offering to the LORD, it must be of fine flour. He is to pour oil on it, put frankincense on it,

וְנֶ֗פֶשׁ כִּֽי־תַקְרִ֞יב קָרְבַּ֤ן מִנְחָה֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה סֹ֖לֶת יִהְיֶ֣ה קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ וְיָצַ֤ק עָלֶ֨יהָ֙ שֶׁ֔מֶן וְנָתַ֥ן עָלֶ֖יהָ לְבֹנָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vֽehebiy'a֗hּ 'el-bּene֣y 'aharon֮ hakּohaniym֒ veqama֨tz mishshּa֜m melo֣ qumetz֗o misּaletּahּ֙ umishshּamena֔hּ 'a֖l kּal-lebonata֑hּ vehiqeti֨yr hakּohe֜n 'et-'azekּaratahּ֙ hamּizebּe֔chah 'ishshּe֛h re֥ycha niycho֖cha layhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)and bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. The priest shall take a handful of the flour and oil, along with all the frankincense, and burn this as a memorial portion on the altar. It is an offering made by fire, a sweet savour to the LORD.

וֶֽהֱבִיאָ֗הּ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹן֮ הַכֹּהֲנִים֒ וְקָמַ֨ץ מִשָּׁ֜ם מְלֹ֣א קֻמְצ֗וֹ מִסָּלְתָּהּ֙ וּמִשַּׁמְנָ֔הּ עַ֖ל כָּל־לְבֹנָתָ֑הּ וְהִקְטִ֨יר הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אֶת־אַזְכָּרָתָהּ֙ הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה אִשֵּׁ֛ה רֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehanּote֨ret֙ min-hamּinecha֔h le'aharo֖n ulebana֑yv qo֥deshsh qaֽdashshi֖ym me'ishshּe֥y yehvaֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the offerings made by fire to the LORD.

וְהַנּוֹתֶ֨רֶת֙ מִן־הַמִּנְחָ֔ה לְאַהֲרֹ֖ן וּלְבָנָ֑יו קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים מֵאִשֵּׁ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): veki֥y taqeri֛b qarebּa֥n minecha֖h ma'ape֣h tanּ֑ur so֣let chalּ֤ot matzּot֙ bּelulo֣t bּashshּe֔men ureqiyqe֥y matzּ֖ot meshshuchi֥ym bּashshּaֽmen׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)If you bring a grain offering baked in an oven, it must consist of fine flour: either thick loaves made without yeast and mixed with oil, or thin wafers made without yeast and brushed with oil.

וְכִ֥י תַקְרִ֛ב קָרְבַּ֥ן מִנְחָ֖ה מַאֲפֵ֣ה תַנּ֑וּר סֹ֣לֶת חַלּ֤וֹת מַצֹּת֙ בְּלוּלֹ֣ת בַּשֶּׁ֔מֶן וּרְקִיקֵ֥י מַצּ֖וֹת מְשֻׁחִ֥ים בַּשָּֽׁמֶן׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'im-minecha֥h 'al-haֽmּachaba֖t qarebּane֑ka so֛let bּelula֥h bashshּe֖men matzּa֥h tiheyeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)If your grain offering is prepared on a griddle, it must be made of fine flour without yeast and mixed with oil.

וְאִם־מִנְחָ֥ה עַל־הַֽמַּחֲבַ֖ת קָרְבָּנֶ֑ךָ סֹ֛לֶת בְּלוּלָ֥ה בַשֶּׁ֖מֶן מַצָּ֥ה תִהְיֶֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): pּat֤ot 'otahּ֙ pּitּi֔ym veyatzaqetּa֥ 'ale֖yha shsha֑men minecha֖h hiֽv'׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Crumble it into pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering.

פָּת֤וֹת אֹתָהּ֙ פִּתִּ֔ים וְיָצַקְתָּ֥ עָלֶ֖יהָ שָׁ֑מֶן מִנְחָ֖ה הִֽוא׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'im-minecha֥t mareche֖shshet qarebּane֑ka so֥let bּashshּe֖men tּe'ashseֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)If your grain offering is prepared in a pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

וְאִם־מִנְחַ֥ת מַרְחֶ֖שֶׁת קָרְבָּנֶ֑ךָ סֹ֥לֶת בַּשֶּׁ֖מֶן תֵּעָשֶֽׂה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehebe'ta֣ 'et-hamּinecha֗h 'ashshe֧r ye'ashse֛h me'e֖lּeh layhva֑h vehiqeriybahּ֙ 'el-hakּohe֔n vehigּiyshsha֖hּ 'el-hamּizebּeֽcha׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Bring the grain offering made of these things to the LORD; present it to the priest, who shall take it to the altar.

וְהֵבֵאתָ֣ אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר יֵעָשֶׂ֛ה מֵאֵ֖לֶּה לַיהוָ֑ה וְהִקְרִיבָהּ֙ אֶל־הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְהִגִּישָׁ֖הּ אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veheri֨ym hakּohe֤n min-hamּinechah֙ 'et-'azekּa֣rata֔hּ vehiqeti֖yr hamּizebּe֑chah 'ishshּe֛h re֥ycha niycho֖cha layhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The priest shall take out the memorial portion from the grain offering and burn it on the altar as an offering made by fire, a sweet savour to the LORD.

וְהֵרִ֨ים הַכֹּהֵ֤ן מִן־הַמִּנְחָה֙ אֶת־אַזְכָּ֣רָתָ֔הּ וְהִקְטִ֖יר הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה אִשֵּׁ֛ה רֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehanּote֨ret֙ min-hamּinecha֔h le'aharo֖n ulebana֑yv qo֥deshsh qֽadashshi֖ym me'ishshּe֥y yehvaֽh׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּal-hamּinecha֗h 'ashshe֤r tּaqeri֨ybu֙ layhva֔h lo֥ te'ashse֖h chame֑tz kּi֤y kal-shse'or֙ vekal-dּeba֔shsh loֽ'-taqeti֧yru mimּe֛nּu 'ishshּe֖h laֽyhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Every grain offering you bring to the LORD must be made without yeast, for you are not to burn any yeast or honey in an offering made by fire to the LORD.

כָּל־הַמִּנְחָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר תַּקְרִ֨יבוּ֙ לַיהוָ֔ה לֹ֥א תֵעָשֶׂ֖ה חָמֵ֑ץ כִּ֤י כָל־שְׂאֹר֙ וְכָל־דְּבַ֔שׁ לֹֽא־תַקְטִ֧ירוּ מִמֶּ֛נּוּ אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַֽיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): qarebּa֥n re'shshi֛yt tּaqeri֥ybu 'ota֖m layhva֑h ve'el-hamּizebּe֥cha lo'-ya'al֖u lere֥ycha niychoֽcha׃

Edified Edition (EDE)You may bring them to the LORD as an offering of the firstfruits, but they are not to be burnt on the altar as a sweet savour.

קָרְבַּ֥ן רֵאשִׁ֛ית תַּקְרִ֥יבוּ אֹתָ֖ם לַיהוָ֑ה וְאֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֥חַ לֹא־יַעֲל֖וּ לְרֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹֽחַ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vekal-qarebּa֣n minechateka֮ bּamּe֣lach tּimelach֒ velo֣ tashshebּi֗yt me֚lach bּeri֣yt 'elohe֔yka me'a֖l minechate֑ka 'a֥l kּal-qarebּaneka֖ tּaqeri֥yb meֽlach׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings; add salt to all your offerings.

וְכָל־קָרְבַּ֣ן מִנְחָתְךָ֮ בַּמֶּ֣לַח תִּמְלָח֒ וְלֹ֣א תַשְׁבִּ֗ית מֶ֚לַח בְּרִ֣ית אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ מֵעַ֖ל מִנְחָתֶ֑ךָ עַ֥ל כָּל־קָרְבָּנְךָ֖ תַּקְרִ֥יב מֶֽלַח׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'im-tּaqeri֛yb minecha֥t bּikּuri֖ym layhva֑h 'abi֞yb qal֤uy bּa'eshsh֙ gּe֣reshs kּareme֔l tּaqeri֕yb 'e֖t minecha֥t bּikּureֽyka׃

Edified Edition (EDE)If you bring a grain offering of firstfruits to the LORD, offer crushed heads of new grain roasted in the fire.

וְאִם־תַּקְרִ֛יב מִנְחַ֥ת בִּכּוּרִ֖ים לַיהוָ֑ה אָבִ֞יב קָל֤וּי בָּאֵשׁ֙ גֶּ֣רֶשׂ כַּרְמֶ֔ל תַּקְרִ֕יב אֵ֖ת מִנְחַ֥ת בִּכּוּרֶֽיךָ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): venatatּa֤ 'ale֨yha֙ shshe֔men veshsametּa֥ 'ale֖yha lebona֑h minecha֖h hiֽv'׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Pour oil on it and put frankincense on it; it is a grain offering.

וְנָתַתָּ֤ עָלֶ֨יהָ֙ שֶׁ֔מֶן וְשַׂמְתָּ֥ עָלֶ֖יהָ לְבֹנָ֑ה מִנְחָ֖ה הִֽוא׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehiqeti֨yr hakּohe֜n 'et-'azekּarata֗hּ migּireshsahּ֙ umishshּamena֔hּ 'a֖l kּal-lebonata֑hּ 'ishshּe֖h layhvaֽh׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)The priest shall burn the memorial portion of the crushed grain and the oil, together with all the frankincense, as an offering made by fire to the LORD.

וְהִקְטִ֨יר הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אֶת־אַזְכָּרָתָ֗הּ מִגִּרְשָׂהּ֙ וּמִשַּׁמְנָ֔הּ עַ֖ל כָּל־לְבֹנָתָ֑הּ אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַיהוָֽה׃פ
