Chapter 3

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'im-ze֥bach shshelami֖ym qarebּan֑o 'i֤m min-habּaqar֙ h֣u maqeri֔yb 'im-zakar֙ 'im-neqeba֔h tּami֥ym yaqeriybe֖nּu lipene֥y yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)If a person's offering is a peace offering from the herd, he must bring a male or female without any defect to the LORD.

וְאִם־זֶ֥בַח שְׁלָמִ֖ים קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ אִ֤ם מִן־הַבָּקָר֙ ה֣וּא מַקְרִ֔יב אִם־זָכָר֙ אִם־נְקֵבָ֔ה תָּמִ֥ים יַקְרִיבֶ֖נּוּ לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vesama֤ke yado֙ 'al-ro֣'shsh qarebּan֔o ushshechat֕o pּe֖tach 'o֣hel mo'e֑d vezareq֡u bּeney֩ 'aharo֨n hakּohani֧ym 'et-hadּa֛m 'al-hamּizebּe֖cha sabiֽyb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He shall lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall splash the blood against all sides of the altar.

וְסָמַ֤ךְ יָדוֹ֙ עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ קָרְבָּנ֔וֹ וּשְׁחָט֕וֹ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְזָרְק֡וּ בְּנֵי֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים אֶת־הַדָּ֛ם עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ סָבִֽיב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehiqeriyb֙ mizּe֣bach hashshּelami֔ym 'ishshּe֖h layhva֑h 'et-hache֨leb֙ haֽmekasּe֣h 'et-haqּe֔reb ve'et֙ kּal-hache֔leb 'ashshe֖r 'al-haqּeֽreb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)From the peace offering, he shall bring a sacrifice to the LORD made by fire: all the fat that covers and surrounds the internal organs,

וְהִקְרִיב֙ מִזֶּ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִ֔ים אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַיהוָ֑ה אֶת־הַחֵ֨לֶב֙ הַֽמְכַסֶּ֣ה אֶת־הַקֶּ֔רֶב וְאֵת֙ כָּל־הַחֵ֔לֶב אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־הַקֶּֽרֶב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et֙ shshetּe֣y hakּelayo֔t ve'et-hache֨leb֙ 'ashshe֣r 'alehe֔n 'ashshe֖r 'al-hakּesali֑ym ve'et-hayּote֨ret֙ 'al-hakּabe֔d 'al-hakּelay֖ot yesiyreֽnּah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys.

וְאֵת֙ שְׁתֵּ֣י הַכְּלָיֹ֔ת וְאֶת־הַחֵ֨לֶב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲלֵהֶ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־הַכְּסָלִ֑ים וְאֶת־הַיֹּתֶ֨רֶת֙ עַל־הַכָּבֵ֔ד עַל־הַכְּלָי֖וֹת יְסִירֶֽנָּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehiqeti֨yru 'ot֤o beneֽy-'aharon֙ hamּizebּe֔chah 'al-ha֣'ola֔h 'ashshe֥r 'al-ha'etzi֖ym 'ashshe֣r 'al-ha'e֑shsh 'ishshּe֛h re֥ycha niycho֖cha laֽyhvaֽh׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar on top of the burnt offering that is on the wood on the fire; it is an offering made by fire, a sweet savour to the LORD.

וְהִקְטִ֨ירוּ אֹת֤וֹ בְנֵֽי־אַהֲרֹן֙ הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה עַל־הָ֣עֹלָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־הָעֵצִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־הָאֵ֑שׁ אִשֵּׁ֛ה רֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַֽיהוָֽה׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'im-min-hatzּo֧'n qarebּan֛o leze֥bach shshelami֖ym layhva֑h zakar֙ '֣o neqeba֔h tּami֖ym yaqeriybeֽnּu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)If his offering for a peace offering to the LORD is from the flock, he must offer a male or female without any defect.

וְאִם־מִן־הַצֹּ֧אן קָרְבָּנ֛וֹ לְזֶ֥בַח שְׁלָמִ֖ים לַיהוָ֑ה זָכָר֙ א֣וֹ נְקֵבָ֔ה תָּמִ֖ים יַקְרִיבֶֽנּוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): im-kּe֥shseb hֽu'-maqeri֖yb 'et-qarebּan֑o vehiqeri֥yb 'ot֖o lipene֥y yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)If he offers a lamb, he is to present it before the LORD,

אִם־כֶּ֥שֶׂב הֽוּא־מַקְרִ֖יב אֶת־קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ וְהִקְרִ֥יב אֹת֖וֹ לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vesama֤ke 'et-yado֙ 'al-ro֣'shsh qarebּan֔o veshshacha֣t 'ot֔o lipene֖y 'o֣hel mo'e֑d ve֠zarequ bּene֨y 'aharo֧n 'et-dּam֛o 'al-hamּizebּe֖cha sabiֽyb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)lay his hand on its head, and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Aaron’s sons shall splash its blood against all sides of the altar.

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehiqeri֨yb mizּe֣bach hashshּelamiym֮ 'ishshּe֣h layhvah֒ chelebּo֙ ha'aleya֣h temiyma֔h le'umּa֥t he'atze֖h yesiyre֑nּah ve'et-hache֨leb֙ haֽmekasּe֣h 'et-haqּe֔reb ve'et֙ kּal-hache֔leb 'ashshe֖r 'al-haqּeֽreb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)From the peace offering, he shall bring a sacrifice to the LORD made by fire: the entire fat tail, cut off close to the backbone, all the fat that covers and surrounds the internal organs,

וְהִקְרִ֨יב מִזֶּ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִים֮ אִשֶּׁ֣ה לַיהוָה֒ חֶלְבּוֹ֙ הָאַלְיָ֣ה תְמִימָ֔ה לְעֻמַּ֥ת הֶעָצֶ֖ה יְסִירֶ֑נָּה וְאֶת־הַחֵ֨לֶב֙ הַֽמְכַסֶּ֣ה אֶת־הַקֶּ֔רֶב וְאֵת֙ כָּל־הַחֵ֔לֶב אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־הַקֶּֽרֶב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et֙ shshetּe֣y hakּelayo֔t ve'et-hache֨leb֙ 'ashshe֣r 'alehe֔n 'ashshe֖r 'al-hakּesali֑ym ve'et-hayּote֨ret֙ 'al-hakּabe֔d 'al-hakּelayo֖t yesiyreֽnּah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The priest shall burn it on the altar; it is a food offering made by fire to the LORD.

וְהִקְטִיר֥וֹ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה לֶ֥חֶם אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַיהוָֽה׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'i֥m 'e֖z qarebּan֑o vehiqeriyb֖o lipene֥y yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)If his offering is a goat, he shall present it before the LORD,

וְאִ֥ם עֵ֖ז קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ וְהִקְרִיב֖וֹ לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vesama֤ke 'et-yado֙ 'al-ro'shsh֔o veshshacha֣t 'ot֔o lipene֖y 'o֣hel mo'e֑d ve֠zarequ bּene֨y 'aharo֧n 'et-dּam֛o 'al-hamּizebּe֖cha sabiֽyb׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): chuqּa֤t 'olam֙ ledoro֣teyke֔m bּeko֖l mֽoshsheboteyke֑m kּal-che֥leb vekal-dּa֖m lo֥ to'keֽlu׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)This is a lasting law for all your generations, wherever you live: you must not eat any fat or any blood.

חֻקַּ֤ת עוֹלָם֙ לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם בְּכֹ֖ל מֽוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם כָּל־חֵ֥לֶב וְכָל־דָּ֖ם לֹ֥א תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃פ
