Chapter 8

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r yehva֖h 'el-moshshe֥h lּe'moֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The LORD said to Moses,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): qa֤ch 'eֽt-'aharon֙ ve'et-bּana֣yv 'itּ֔o ve'et֙ habּegadi֔ym ve'e֖t shshe֣men hamּishshecha֑h ve'e֣t ׀ pּa֣r hֽachatּa֗'t ve'et֙ shshene֣y haֽ'eyli֔ym ve'e֖t sa֥l hamּatzּֽot׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Bring Aaron and his sons, their garments, the anointing oil, the bull for the sin offering, the two rams and the basket containing bread made without yeast,

קַ֤ח אֶֽת־אַהֲרֹן֙ וְאֶת־בָּנָ֣יו אִתּ֔וֹ וְאֵת֙ הַבְּגָדִ֔ים וְאֵ֖ת שֶׁ֣מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָ֑ה וְאֵ֣ת ׀ פַּ֣ר הַֽחַטָּ֗את וְאֵת֙ שְׁנֵ֣י הָֽאֵילִ֔ים וְאֵ֖ת סַ֥ל הַמַּצּֽוֹת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'e֥t kּal-ha'eda֖h haqehe֑l 'el-pּe֖tach 'o֥hel mo'eֽd׃

Edified Edition (EDE)and gather the entire assembly at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting."

וְאֵ֥ת כָּל־הָעֵדָ֖ה הַקְהֵ֑ל אֶל־פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֣'ashs moshshe֔h kּֽa'ashshe֛r tziua֥h yehva֖h 'ot֑o vatּiqּahel֙ haֽ'eda֔h 'el-pּe֖tach 'o֥hel mo'eֽd׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses did as the LORD commanded him, and the assembly gathered at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ מֹשֶׁ֔ה כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֹת֑וֹ וַתִּקָּהֵל֙ הָֽעֵדָ֔ה אֶל־פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֥'mer moshshe֖h 'el-ha'eda֑h ze֣h hadּaba֔r 'ashsher-tziua֥h yehva֖h la'ashsֽot׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses said to the assembly, "This is what the LORD has commanded to be done."

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־הָעֵדָ֑ה זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּaqere֣b moshshe֔h 'eֽt-'aharo֖n ve'et-bּana֑yv vayּirecha֥tz 'ota֖m bּamּaֽyim׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Moses brought Aaron and his sons forward and washed them with water.

וַיַּקְרֵ֣ב מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֶֽת־אַהֲרֹ֖ן וְאֶת־בָּנָ֑יו וַיִּרְחַ֥ץ אֹתָ֖ם בַּמָּֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּitּe֨n 'ala֜yv 'et-hakּutּo֗net vayּachegּo֤r 'oto֙ bּaֽ'abene֔t vayּalebּe֤shsh 'oto֙ 'eֽt-hamּe'i֔yl vayּitּe֥n 'ala֖yv 'et-ha'epo֑d vayּachegּo֣r 'ot֗o bּeche֨shsheb֙ haֽ'epo֔d vayּe'epּo֥d l֖o bּֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He put the tunic on Aaron, tied the sash around him, clothed him with the robe and put the ephod on him. He also fastened the ephod with a decorative waistband, which he tied around him.

וַיִּתֵּ֨ן עָלָ֜יו אֶת־הַכֻּתֹּ֗נֶת וַיַּחְגֹּ֤ר אֹתוֹ֙ בָּֽאַבְנֵ֔ט וַיַּלְבֵּ֤שׁ אֹתוֹ֙ אֶֽת־הַמְּעִ֔יל וַיִּתֵּ֥ן עָלָ֖יו אֶת־הָאֵפֹ֑ד וַיַּחְגֹּ֣ר אֹת֗וֹ בְּחֵ֨שֶׁב֙ הָֽאֵפֹ֔ד וַיֶּאְפֹּ֥ד ל֖וֹ בּֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֥shsem 'ala֖yv 'et-hacho֑shshen vayּitּen֙ 'el-hacho֔shshen 'et-ha'uri֖ym ve'et-hatּumּiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He placed the breastplate on him and put the Urim and Thummim in the breastplate.

וַיָּ֥שֶׂם עָלָ֖יו אֶת־הַחֹ֑שֶׁן וַיִּתֵּן֙ אֶל־הַחֹ֔שֶׁן אֶת־הָאוּרִ֖ים וְאֶת־הַתֻּמִּֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֥shsem 'et-hamּitzene֖pet 'al-ro'shsh֑o vayּa֨shsem 'aֽl-hamּitzene֜pet 'el-m֣ul pּana֗yv 'e֣t tzi֤ytz hazּahab֙ ne֣zer haqּo֔deshsh kּa'ashshe֛r tziua֥h yehva֖h 'et-moshsheֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then he placed the turban on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the sacred emblem, on the front of it, as the LORD commanded Moses.

וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־הַמִּצְנֶ֖פֶת עַל־רֹאשׁ֑וֹ וַיָּ֨שֶׂם עַֽל־הַמִּצְנֶ֜פֶת אֶל־מ֣וּל פָּנָ֗יו אֵ֣ת צִ֤יץ הַזָּהָב֙ נֵ֣זֶר הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֤ch moshsheh֙ 'et-shshe֣men hamּishshecha֔h vayּimeshsha֥ch 'et-hamּishshekּa֖n ve'et-kּal-'ashsher-bּ֑o vayeqadּe֖shsh 'otaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it, and so consecrated them.

וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת־שֶׁ֣מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָ֔ה וַיִּמְשַׁ֥ח אֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־בּ֑וֹ וַיְקַדֵּ֖שׁ אֹתָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֥z mimּe֛nּu 'al-hamּizebּe֖cha shshe֣ba pּe'ami֑ym vayּimeshsha֨ch 'et-hamּizebּe֜cha ve'et-kּal-kּela֗yv ve'et-hakּiyּo֛r ve'et-kּanּ֖o leqadּeshshaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times, anointing the altar and all its utensils and the basin with its stand, to consecrate them.

וַיַּ֥ז מִמֶּ֛נּוּ עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים וַיִּמְשַׁ֨ח אֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּ֜חַ וְאֶת־כָּל־כֵּלָ֗יו וְאֶת־הַכִּיֹּ֛ר וְאֶת־כַּנּ֖וֹ לְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּitzoq֙ mishshּe֣men hamּishshecha֔h 'a֖l ro֣'shsh 'aharo֑n vayּimeshsha֥ch 'ot֖o leqadּeshshֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him.

וַיִּצֹק֙ מִשֶּׁ֣מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָ֔ה עַ֖ל רֹ֣אשׁ אַהֲרֹ֑ן וַיִּמְשַׁ֥ח אֹת֖וֹ לְקַדְּשֽׁוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּaqere֨b moshshe֜h 'et-bּene֣y 'aharo֗n vayּalebּishshe֤m kּutּonot֙ vayּachegּo֤r 'otam֙ 'abene֔t vayּachabo֥shsh lahe֖m migebּa'֑ot kּa'ashshe֛r tziua֥h yehva֖h 'et-moshsheֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then he brought Aaron’s sons forward, put tunics on them, tied sashes around them and fastened caps on them, as the LORD commanded Moses.

וַיַּקְרֵ֨ב מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹ֗ן וַיַּלְבִּשֵׁ֤ם כֻּתֳּנֹת֙ וַיַּחְגֹּ֤ר אֹתָם֙ אַבְנֵ֔ט וַיַּחֲבֹ֥שׁ לָהֶ֖ם מִגְבָּע֑וֹת כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּagּe֕shsh 'e֖t pּa֣r haֽchatּa֑'t vayּisemo֨ke 'aharo֤n ubanayv֙ 'et-yedeyhe֔m 'al-ro֖'shsh pּa֥r hֽachatּaֽ't׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He then presented the bull for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

וַיַּגֵּ֕שׁ אֵ֖ת פַּ֣ר הַֽחַטָּ֑את וַיִּסְמֹ֨ךְ אַהֲרֹ֤ן וּבָנָיו֙ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֔ם עַל־רֹ֖אשׁ פַּ֥ר הַֽחַטָּֽאת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּishshecha֗t vayּiqּa֨ch moshshe֤h 'et-hadּam֙ va֠yּitּen 'al-qaren֨ot hamּizebּe֤cha sabiyb֙ bּe'etzebּa'֔o vayechatּe֖ 'et-hamּizebּe֑cha ve'et-hadּa֗m yatzaq֙ 'el-yes֣od hamּizebּe֔cha vaֽyeqadּeshshe֖hu lekapּe֥r 'alaֽyv׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses slaughtered the bull and took some of the blood, and with his finger he put it on all the horns of the altar to purify the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. So he consecrated it to make atonement for it.

וַיִּשְׁחָ֗ט וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֤ה אֶת־הַדָּם֙ וַ֠יִּתֵּן עַל־קַרְנ֨וֹת הַמִּזְבֵּ֤חַ סָבִיב֙ בְּאֶצְבָּע֔וֹ וַיְחַטֵּ֖א אֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ וְאֶת־הַדָּ֗ם יָצַק֙ אֶל־יְס֣וֹד הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ וַֽיְקַדְּשֵׁ֖הוּ לְכַפֵּ֥ר עָלָֽיו׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֗ch 'eֽt-kּal-hacheleb֮ 'ashshe֣r 'al-haqּereb֒ ve'et֙ yote֣ret hakּabe֔d ve'et-shshetּe֥y hakּelayo֖t ve'eֽt-chelebּehe֑n vayּaqete֥r moshshe֖h hamּizebּeֽchah׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses took all the fat around the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, and both kidneys and their fat, and burned it on the altar.

וַיִּקַּ֗ח אֶֽת־כָּל־הַחֵלֶב֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־הַקֶּרֶב֒ וְאֵת֙ יֹתֶ֣רֶת הַכָּבֵ֔ד וְאֶת־שְׁתֵּ֥י הַכְּלָיֹ֖ת וְאֶֽת־חֶלְבְּהֶ֑ן וַיַּקְטֵ֥ר מֹשֶׁ֖ה הַמִּזְבֵּֽחָה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-hapּa֤r ve'et-'oro֙ ve'et-bּeshsar֣o ve'et-pּireshsh֔o shsara֣p bּa'e֔shsh mich֖utz laֽmּachane֑h kּa'ashshe֛r tziua֥h yehva֖h 'et-moshsheֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)But the bull with its hide and its flesh and its waste he burned up outside the camp, as the LORD commanded Moses.

וְאֶת־הַפָּ֤ר וְאֶת־עֹרוֹ֙ וְאֶת־בְּשָׂר֣וֹ וְאֶת־פִּרְשׁ֔וֹ שָׂרַ֣ף בָּאֵ֔שׁ מִח֖וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּaqere֕b 'e֖t 'e֣yl ha'ola֑h vaֽyּisemek֞u 'aharo֧n ubana֛yv 'et-yedeyhe֖m 'al-ro֥'shsh ha'aֽyil׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He then presented the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

וַיַּקְרֵ֕ב אֵ֖ת אֵ֣יל הָעֹלָ֑ה וַֽיִּסְמְכ֞וּ אַהֲרֹ֧ן וּבָנָ֛יו אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֖ם עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ הָאָֽיִל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּishshecha֑t vayּizero֨q moshshe֧h 'et-hadּa֛m 'al-hamּizebּe֖cha sabiֽyb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Moses slaughtered the ram and splashed the blood against all sides of the altar.

וַיִּשְׁחָ֑ט וַיִּזְרֹ֨ק מֹשֶׁ֧ה אֶת־הַדָּ֛ם עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ סָבִֽיב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-ha'a֔yil nitּa֖ch linetacha֑yv vayּaqete֤r moshsheh֙ 'et-haro֔'shsh ve'et-hanּetachi֖ym ve'et-hapּaֽder׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces and the fat.

וְאֶת־הָאַ֔יִל נִתַּ֖ח לִנְתָחָ֑יו וַיַּקְטֵ֤ר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת־הָרֹ֔אשׁ וְאֶת־הַנְּתָחִ֖ים וְאֶת־הַפָּֽדֶר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'et-haqּe֥reb ve'et-hakּera'a֖yim racha֣tz bּamּa֑yim vayּaqeter֩ moshshe֨h 'et-kּal-ha'a֜yil hamּizebּe֗chah 'ola֨h h֤u lereֽycha-niycho֨cha֙ 'ishshּe֥h hu'֙ layhva֔h kּa'ashshe֛r tziua֥h yehva֖h 'et-moshsheֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He washed the internal organs and the legs with water and burned the whole ram on the altar as a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.

וְאֶת־הַקֶּ֥רֶב וְאֶת־הַכְּרָעַ֖יִם רָחַ֣ץ בַּמָּ֑יִם וַיַּקְטֵר֩ מֹשֶׁ֨ה אֶת־כָּל־הָאַ֜יִל הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חָה עֹלָ֨ה ה֤וּא לְרֵֽיחַ־נִיחֹ֨חַ֙ אִשֶּׁ֥ה הוּא֙ לַיהוָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּaqereb֙ 'et-ha'a֣yil hashshּeni֔y 'e֖yl hamּilּu'i֑ym vaֽyּisemek֞u 'aharo֧n ubana֛yv 'et-yedeyhe֖m 'al-ro֥'shsh ha'aֽyil׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He then presented the other ram, the ram for the ordination, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

וַיַּקְרֵב֙ אֶת־הָאַ֣יִל הַשֵּׁנִ֔י אֵ֖יל הַמִּלֻּאִ֑ים וַֽיִּסְמְכ֞וּ אַהֲרֹ֧ן וּבָנָ֛יו אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֖ם עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ הָאָֽיִל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּishshecha֓t ׀ vayּiqּa֤ch moshsheh֙ midּam֔o vayּitּe֛n 'al-tּen֥uke 'oֽzen-'aharo֖n hayemani֑yt ve'al-bּo֤hen yado֙ hayemani֔yt ve'al-bּo֥hen ragel֖o hayemaniֽyt׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses slaughtered the ram and took some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot.

וַיִּשְׁחָ֓ט ׀ וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֹשֶׁה֙ מִדָּמ֔וֹ וַיִּתֵּ֛ן עַל־תְּנ֥וּךְ אֹֽזֶן־אַהֲרֹ֖ן הַיְמָנִ֑ית וְעַל־בֹּ֤הֶן יָדוֹ֙ הַיְמָנִ֔ית וְעַל־בֹּ֥הֶן רַגְל֖וֹ הַיְמָנִֽית׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּaqere֞b 'et-bּene֣y 'aharo֗n vayּitּe֨n moshshe֤h min-hadּam֙ 'al-tּen֤uke 'azenam֙ hayemani֔yt ve'al-bּo֤hen yadam֙ hayemani֔yt ve'al-bּo֥hen ragela֖m hayemani֑yt vayּizero֨q moshshe֧h 'et-hadּa֛m 'al-hֽamּizebּe֖cha sabiֽyb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses also brought Aaron’s sons forward and put some of the blood on the lobes of their right ears, on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Then he splashed blood against all sides of the altar.

וַיַּקְרֵ֞ב אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹ֗ן וַיִּתֵּ֨ן מֹשֶׁ֤ה מִן־הַדָּם֙ עַל־תְּנ֤וּךְ אָזְנָם֙ הַיְמָנִ֔ית וְעַל־בֹּ֤הֶן יָדָם֙ הַיְמָנִ֔ית וְעַל־בֹּ֥הֶן רַגְלָ֖ם הַיְמָנִ֑ית וַיִּזְרֹ֨ק מֹשֶׁ֧ה אֶת־הַדָּ֛ם עַל־הַֽמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ סָבִֽיב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֞ch 'et-hache֣leb ve'et-haֽ'aleya֗h ve'eֽt-kּal-hacheleb֮ 'ashshe֣r 'al-haqּereb֒ ve'et֙ yote֣ret hakּabe֔d ve'et-shshetּe֥y hakּelayo֖t ve'eֽt-chelebּehe֑n ve'e֖t shsh֥oq hayּamiֽyn׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He took the fat, the fat tail, all the fat around the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, both kidneys and their fat and the right thigh.

וַיִּקַּ֞ח אֶת־הַחֵ֣לֶב וְאֶת־הָֽאַלְיָ֗ה וְאֶֽת־כָּל־הַחֵלֶב֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־הַקֶּרֶב֒ וְאֵת֙ יֹתֶ֣רֶת הַכָּבֵ֔ד וְאֶת־שְׁתֵּ֥י הַכְּלָיֹ֖ת וְאֶֽת־חֶלְבְּהֶ֑ן וְאֵ֖ת שׁ֥וֹק הַיָּמִֽין׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umisּa֨l hamּatzּ֜ot 'ashshe֣r ׀ lipene֣y yehva֗h la֠qach chalּa֨t matzּa֤h 'achat֙ veֽchalּa֨t le֥chem shshe֛men 'acha֖t veraqi֣yq 'echa֑d vayּa֨shsem֙ 'al-ha֣chalabi֔ym ve'a֖l shsh֥oq hayּamiֽyn׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then from the basket of bread made without yeast, which was before the LORD, he took one thick loaf, one thick loaf with olive oil mixed in, and one wafer, and he put these on the fat and the right thigh.

וּמִסַּ֨ל הַמַּצּ֜וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֗ה לָ֠קַח חַלַּ֨ת מַצָּ֤ה אַחַת֙ וְֽחַלַּ֨ת לֶ֥חֶם שֶׁ֛מֶן אַחַ֖ת וְרָקִ֣יק אֶחָ֑ד וַיָּ֨שֶׂם֙ עַל־הַ֣חֲלָבִ֔ים וְעַ֖ל שׁ֥וֹק הַיָּמִֽין׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּitּe֣n 'et-hakּo֔l 'a֚l kּapּe֣y 'aharo֔n ve'a֖l kּapּe֣y bana֑yv vayּa֧nep 'ota֛m tּenupa֖h lipene֥y yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and waved them before the LORD as a wave offering.

וַיִּתֵּ֣ן אֶת־הַכֹּ֔ל עַ֚ל כַּפֵּ֣י אַהֲרֹ֔ן וְעַ֖ל כַּפֵּ֣י בָנָ֑יו וַיָּ֧נֶף אֹתָ֛ם תְּנוּפָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֨ch moshshe֤h 'otam֙ me'a֣l kּapּeyhe֔m vayּaqete֥r hamּizebּe֖chah 'al-ha'ola֑h milּu'i֥ym hem֙ lere֣ycha niycho֔cha 'ishshּe֥h h֖u layhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Moses took them from their hands and burned them on the altar on top of the burnt offering as an ordination offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the LORD.

וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֤ה אֹתָם֙ מֵעַ֣ל כַּפֵּיהֶ֔ם וַיַּקְטֵ֥ר הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חָה עַל־הָעֹלָ֑ה מִלֻּאִ֥ים הֵם֙ לְרֵ֣יחַ נִיחֹ֔חַ אִשֶּׁ֥ה ה֖וּא לַיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֤ch moshsheh֙ 'et-he֣chaze֔h vayeniype֥hu tenupa֖h lipene֣y yehva֑h me'e֣yl hamּilּu'i֗ym lemoshshe֤h hayah֙ lemana֔h kּa'ashshe֛r tziua֥h yehva֖h 'et-moshsheֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses also took the breast, which was his share of the ordination ram, and waved it before the LORD as a wave offering, as the LORD commanded Moses.

וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת־הֶ֣חָזֶ֔ה וַיְנִיפֵ֥הוּ תְנוּפָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה מֵאֵ֣יל הַמִּלֻּאִ֗ים לְמֹשֶׁ֤ה הָיָה֙ לְמָנָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֨ch moshshe֜h mishshּe֣men hamּishshecha֗h umin-hadּam֮ 'ashshe֣r 'al-hamּizebּecha֒ vayּa֤z 'aֽl-'aharon֙ 'al-bּegada֔yv ve'al-bּana֛yv ve'al-bּigede֥y bana֖yv 'itּ֑o vayeqadּe֤shsh 'eֽt-'aharon֙ 'et-bּegada֔yv ve'et-bּana֛yv ve'et-bּigede֥y bana֖yv 'itּֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood from the altar and sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. So he consecrated Aaron and his garments and his sons and their garments.

וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֜ה מִשֶּׁ֣מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָ֗ה וּמִן־הַדָּם֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ֒ וַיַּ֤ז עַֽל־אַהֲרֹן֙ עַל־בְּגָדָ֔יו וְעַל־בָּנָ֛יו וְעַל־בִּגְדֵ֥י בָנָ֖יו אִתּ֑וֹ וַיְקַדֵּ֤שׁ אֶֽת־אַהֲרֹן֙ אֶת־בְּגָדָ֔יו וְאֶת־בָּנָ֛יו וְאֶת־בִּגְדֵ֥י בָנָ֖יו אִתּֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֨'mer moshshe֜h 'el-'aharo֣n ve'el-bּana֗yv bּashshּel֣u 'et-habּashsar֮ pּe֣tach 'o֣hel mo'ed֒ veshsham֙ tּo'kel֣u 'ot֔o ve'e֨t-halּe֔chem 'ashshe֖r bּesa֣l hamּilּu'i֑ym kּa'ashshe֤r tziue֨ytiy֙ le'mo֔r 'aharo֥n ubana֖yv yo'keluֽhu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Moses then said to Aaron and his sons, "Cook the meat at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and eat it there with the bread from the basket of ordination offerings, as I was commanded: ‘Aaron and his sons are to eat it.’

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶל־אַהֲרֹ֣ן וְאֶל־בָּנָ֗יו בַּשְּׁל֣וּ אֶת־הַבָּשָׂר֮ פֶּ֣תַח אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵד֒ וְשָׁם֙ תֹּאכְל֣וּ אֹת֔וֹ וְאֶ֨ת־הַלֶּ֔חֶם אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּסַ֣ל הַמִּלֻּאִ֑ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר צִוֵּ֨יתִי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אַהֲרֹ֥ן וּבָנָ֖יו יֹאכְלֻֽהוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vehanּota֥r bּabּashsa֖r ubalּa֑chem bּa'e֖shsh tּishseroֽpu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then burn up the rest of the meat and the bread.

וְהַנּוֹתָ֥ר בַּבָּשָׂ֖ר וּבַלָּ֑חֶם בָּאֵ֖שׁ תִּשְׂרֹֽפוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umipּetach֩ 'o֨hel mo'e֜d lo֤ teֽtze'u֙ shshibe'a֣t yami֔ym 'a֚d y֣om melo֔'t yeme֖y milּu'eyke֑m kּi֚y shshibe'a֣t yami֔ym yemalּe֖ 'et-yedekeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Do not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed, for your ordination will last seven days.

וּמִפֶּתַח֩ אֹ֨הֶל מוֹעֵ֜ד לֹ֤א תֵֽצְאוּ֙ שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים עַ֚ד י֣וֹם מְלֹ֔את יְמֵ֖י מִלֻּאֵיכֶ֑ם כִּ֚י שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים יְמַלֵּ֖א אֶת־יֶדְכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּa'ashshe֥r 'ashsa֖h bּayּ֣om hazּe֑h tziua֧h yehva֛h la'ashso֖t lekapּe֥r 'aleykeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)What has been done today was commanded by the LORD to make atonement for you.

כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה בַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה צִוָּ֧ה יְהוָ֛ה לַעֲשֹׂ֖ת לְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): upetach֩ 'o֨hel mo'e֜d tּeshsheb֨u yoma֤m vala֨yelah֙ shshibe'a֣t yami֔ym ushshemaretּe֛m 'et-mishsheme֥ret yehva֖h velo֣ tam֑utu kּiy-ke֖n tzueֽytiy׃

Edified Edition (EDE)You must stay at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and do what the LORD requires, so you will not die; for that is what I have been commanded."

וּפֶתַח֩ אֹ֨הֶל מוֹעֵ֜ד תֵּשְׁב֨וּ יוֹמָ֤ם וָלַ֨יְלָה֙ שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֛ם אֶת־מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א תָמ֑וּתוּ כִּי־כֵ֖ן צֻוֵּֽיתִי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֥'ashs 'aharo֖n ubana֑yv 'e֚t kּal-hadּebari֔ym 'ashsher-tziua֥h yehva֖h bּeyad-moshsheֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)So Aaron and his sons did everything the LORD commanded through Moses.

וַיַּ֥עַשׂ אַהֲרֹ֖ן וּבָנָ֑יו אֵ֚ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה בְּיַד־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ס
