Chapter 18

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer yehvah֙ 'eֽl-'aharo֔n 'atּa֗h ubane֤yka ubeyt-'abi֨yka֙ 'itּa֔ke tּishse'֖u 'et-'avo֣n hamּiqedּa֑shsh ve'atּah֙ ubane֣yka 'itּa֔ke tּishse'֖u 'et-'avo֥n kּehunּatekeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The LORD said to Aaron, "You, your sons and your family are to bear the responsibility for offences against the sanctuary, and you and your sons alone are to bear the responsibility for offences against the priesthood.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן אַתָּ֗ה וּבָנֶ֤יךָ וּבֵית־אָבִ֨יךָ֙ אִתָּ֔ךְ תִּשְׂא֖וּ אֶת־עֲוֺ֣ן הַמִּקְדָּ֑שׁ וְאַתָּה֙ וּבָנֶ֣יךָ אִתָּ֔ךְ תִּשְׂא֖וּ אֶת־עֲוֺ֥ן כְּהֻנַּתְכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vega֣m 'et-'acheyka֩ matּe֨h levi֜y shshe֤bet 'abi֨yka֙ haqere֣b 'itּa֔ke veyilּav֥u 'ale֖yka viֽyshsharet֑uka ve'atּah֙ ubane֣yka 'itּa֔ke lipene֖y 'o֥hel ha'eduֽt׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Bring your fellow Levites from your ancestral tribe to join you and assist you when you and your sons minister before the tent of the Covenant law.

וְגַ֣ם אֶת־אַחֶיךָ֩ מַטֵּ֨ה לֵוִ֜י שֵׁ֤בֶט אָבִ֨יךָ֙ הַקְרֵ֣ב אִתָּ֔ךְ וְיִלָּו֥וּ עָלֶ֖יךָ וִֽישָׁרְת֑וּךָ וְאַתָּה֙ וּבָנֶ֣יךָ אִתָּ֔ךְ לִפְנֵ֖י אֹ֥הֶל הָעֵדֻֽת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veshshaֽmeru֙ miֽshshemaretּeka֔ umishsheme֖ret kּal-ha'o֑hel 'ake֩ 'el-kּele֨y haqּo֤deshsh ve'el-hamּizebּe֨cha֙ lo֣ yiqera֔bu veloֽ'-yamu֥tu gam-he֖m gּam-'atּeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)They are to be responsible to you and are to perform all the duties of the tent, but they must not go near the furnishings of the sanctuary or the altar. Otherwise both they and you will die.

וְשָֽׁמְרוּ֙ מִֽשְׁמַרְתְּךָ֔ וּמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת כָּל־הָאֹ֑הֶל אַךְ֩ אֶל־כְּלֵ֨י הַקֹּ֤דֶשׁ וְאֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ לֹ֣א יִקְרָ֔בוּ וְלֹֽא־יָמֻ֥תוּ גַם־הֵ֖ם גַּם־אַתֶּֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): venilev֣u 'ale֔yka veshshaֽmer֗u 'et-mishsheme֨ret֙ 'o֣hel mo'e֔d leko֖l 'aboda֣t ha'o֑hel veza֖r lo'-yiqera֥b 'aleykeֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)They are to join you and be responsible for the care of the Tent of Meeting, all the work at the tent, and no one else may come near where you are.

וְנִלְו֣וּ עָלֶ֔יךָ וְשָֽׁמְר֗וּ אֶת־מִשְׁמֶ֨רֶת֙ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד לְכֹ֖ל עֲבֹדַ֣ת הָאֹ֑הֶל וְזָ֖ר לֹא־יִקְרַ֥ב אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ushshemaretּe֗m 'e֚t mishsheme֣ret haqּo֔deshsh ve'e֖t mishsheme֣ret hamּizebּe֑cha veloֽ'-yiheye֥h '֛od qe֖tzep 'al-bּene֥y yishsera'eֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"You are to be responsible for the care of the sanctuary and the altar, so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelites again.

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֗ם אֵ֚ת מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ וְאֵ֖ת מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ וְלֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֥ה ע֛וֹד קֶ֖צֶף עַל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): va'ani֗y hinּe֤h laqa֨chetּiy֙ 'et-'acheyke֣m haleviyּi֔m mitּ֖oke bּene֣y yishsera'e֑l lake֞m matּana֤h netuniym֙ laֽyhva֔h la'abo֕d 'et-'aboda֖t 'o֥hel mo'eֽd׃

Edified Edition (EDE)I myself have selected your fellow Levites from among the Israelites as a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD to do the work at the Tent of Meeting.

וַאֲנִ֗י הִנֵּ֤ה לָקַ֨חְתִּי֙ אֶת־אֲחֵיכֶ֣ם הַלְוִיִּ֔ם מִתּ֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לָכֶ֞ם מַתָּנָ֤ה נְתֻנִים֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה לַעֲבֹ֕ד אֶת־עֲבֹדַ֖ת אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'atּa֣h ubane֣yka 'i֠tּeka tּishshemer֨u 'et-kּehunּateke֜m lekal-dּeba֧r hamּizebּe֛cha ulemibּe֥yt lapּaro֖ket va'abadetּe֑m 'aboda֣t matּana֗h 'etּen֙ 'et-kּehunּateke֔m vehazּa֥r haqּare֖b yumaֽt׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)But only you and your sons may serve as priests in connection with everything at the altar and inside the curtain. I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift. Anyone else who comes near the sanctuary is to be put to death."

וְאַתָּ֣ה וּבָנֶ֣יךָ אִ֠תְּךָ תִּשְׁמְר֨וּ אֶת־כְּהֻנַּתְכֶ֜ם לְכָל־דְּבַ֧ר הַמִּזְבֵּ֛חַ וּלְמִבֵּ֥ית לַפָּרֹ֖כֶת וַעֲבַדְתֶּ֑ם עֲבֹדַ֣ת מַתָּנָ֗ה אֶתֵּן֙ אֶת־כְּהֻנַּתְכֶ֔ם וְהַזָּ֥ר הַקָּרֵ֖ב יוּמָֽת׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֣r yehvah֮ 'eֽl-'aharon֒ va'aniy֙ hinּe֣h nata֣tּiֽy leka֔ 'et-mishsheme֖ret tּerumota֑y lekal-qadeshshe֣y beneֽy-yi֠shsera'el leka֨ netatּi֧ym lemashshecha֛h ulebane֖yka lechaq-'olaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Aaron, "I myself have put you in charge of the offerings presented to me; all the holy offerings the Israelites give me I give to you and your sons as your portion and perpetual share.

וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר יְהוָה֮ אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹן֒ וַאֲנִי֙ הִנֵּ֣ה נָתַ֣תִּֽי לְךָ֔ אֶת־מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת תְּרוּמֹתָ֑י לְכָל־קָדְשֵׁ֣י בְנֵֽי־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל לְךָ֨ נְתַתִּ֧ים לְמָשְׁחָ֛ה וּלְבָנֶ֖יךָ לְחָק־עוֹלָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): zeֽh-yiheye֥h leka֛ miqּo֥deshsh haqּodashshi֖ym min-ha'e֑shsh kּal-qa֠rebּanam leֽkal-minechata֞m ulekal-chatּa'ta֗m ulekal-'ashshamam֙ 'ashshe֣r yashshi֣ybu li֔y qo֣deshsh qaֽdashshi֥ym leka֛ h֖u ulebaneֽyka׃

Edified Edition (EDE)You are to have the part of the most holy offerings that is kept from the fire. From all the gifts they bring me as most holy offerings, whether grain or sin or guilt offerings, that part belongs to you and your sons.

זֶֽה־יִהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֛ מִקֹּ֥דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁ֖ים מִן־הָאֵ֑שׁ כָּל־קָ֠רְבָּנָם לְֽכָל־מִנְחָתָ֞ם וּלְכָל־חַטָּאתָ֗ם וּלְכָל־אֲשָׁמָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יָשִׁ֣יבוּ לִ֔י קֹ֣דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֥ים לְךָ֛ ה֖וּא וּלְבָנֶֽיךָ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּeqo֥deshsh haqּodashshi֖ym tּo'kale֑nּu kּal-zakar֙ yo'ka֣l 'ot֔o qo֖deshsh yiֽheyeh-lּaֽke׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Eat it as something most holy; every male shall eat it. You must regard it as holy.

בְּקֹ֥דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁ֖ים תֹּאכֲלֶ֑נּוּ כָּל־זָכָר֙ יֹאכַ֣ל אֹת֔וֹ קֹ֖דֶשׁ יִֽהְיֶה־לָּֽךְ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vezeh-lּeka֞ tּeruma֣t matּana֗m lekal-tּenupot֮ bּene֣y yishsera'el֒ leka֣ netatּi֗ym ulebane֧yka velibenote֛yka 'itּeka֖ lechaq-'ola֑m kּal-tah֥or bּebeyteka֖ yo'ka֥l 'otֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"This also is yours: whatever is set aside from the gifts of all the wave offerings of the Israelites. I give this to you and your sons and daughters as your perpetual share. Everyone in your household who is ceremonially clean may eat it.

וְזֶה־לְּךָ֞ תְּרוּמַ֣ת מַתָּנָ֗ם לְכָל־תְּנוּפֹת֮ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ לְךָ֣ נְתַתִּ֗ים וּלְבָנֶ֧יךָ וְלִבְנֹתֶ֛יךָ אִתְּךָ֖ לְחָק־עוֹלָ֑ם כָּל־טָה֥וֹר בְּבֵיתְךָ֖ יֹאכַ֥ל אֹתֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֚l che֣leb yitzeha֔r vekal-che֖leb tּiyr֣oshsh vedaga֑n re'shshiyta֛m 'ashsher-yitּen֥u laֽyhva֖h leka֥ netatּiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"I give you all the finest olive oil and all the finest new wine and grain they give the LORD as the firstfruits of their harvest.

כֹּ֚ל חֵ֣לֶב יִצְהָ֔ר וְכָל־חֵ֖לֶב תִּיר֣וֹשׁ וְדָגָ֑ן רֵאשִׁיתָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־יִתְּנ֥וּ לַֽיהוָ֖ה לְךָ֥ נְתַתִּֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּikּure֞y kּal-'ashshe֧r bּe'aretza֛m 'ashsher-yabi֥y'u layhva֖h leka֣ yiheye֑h kּal-tah֥or bּebeyteka֖ yo'kaleֽnּu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)All the land’s firstfruits that they bring to the LORD will be yours. Everyone in your household who is ceremonially clean may eat it.

בִּכּוּרֵ֞י כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֧ר בְּאַרְצָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־יָבִ֥יאוּ לַיהוָ֖ה לְךָ֣ יִהְיֶ֑ה כָּל־טָה֥וֹר בְּבֵיתְךָ֖ יֹאכֲלֶֽנּוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּal-che֥rem bּeyishsera'e֖l leka֥ yiheyeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Everything in Israel that is devoted to the LORD is yours.

כָּל־חֵ֥רֶם בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְךָ֥ יִהְיֶֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּal-pּe֣ter re֠chem leֽkal-bּashsa֞r 'ashsher-yaqeri֧ybu laֽyhva֛h bּa'ada֥m ubabּehema֖h yiֽheyeh-lּa֑ke 'a֣ke ׀ pּado֣h tipedּe֗h 'e֚t bּek֣or haֽ'ada֔m ve'e֛t bּekֽor-habּehema֥h hatּeme'a֖h tּipedּeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The first offspring of every womb, both human and animal, that is offered to the LORD is yours. But you must redeem every firstborn son and every firstborn male of unclean animals.

כָּל־פֶּ֣טֶר רֶ֠חֶם לְֽכָל־בָּשָׂ֞ר אֲשֶׁר־יַקְרִ֧יבוּ לַֽיהוָ֛ה בָּאָדָ֥ם וּבַבְּהֵמָ֖ה יִֽהְיֶה־לָּ֑ךְ אַ֣ךְ ׀ פָּדֹ֣ה תִפְדֶּ֗ה אֵ֚ת בְּכ֣וֹר הָֽאָדָ֔ם וְאֵ֛ת בְּכֽוֹר־הַבְּהֵמָ֥ה הַטְּמֵאָ֖ה תִּפְדֶּֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): upeduyav֙ mibּen-cho֣deshsh tּipedּe֔h bּe'e֨rekּeka֔ kּe֛sep chame֥shshet shsheqali֖ym bּeshshe֣qel haqּo֑deshsh 'eshseri֥ym gּera֖h hֽu'׃

Edified Edition (EDE)When they are a month old, you must redeem them at the redemption price of five shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs.

וּפְדוּיָו֙ מִבֶּן־חֹ֣דֶשׁ תִּפְדֶּ֔ה בְּעֶ֨רְכְּךָ֔ כֶּ֛סֶף חֲמֵ֥שֶׁת שְׁקָלִ֖ים בְּשֶׁ֣קֶל הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים גֵּרָ֖ה הֽוּא׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): a֣ke bּeֽkor-shsh֡or 'ֽo-bek֨or kּe֜shseb 'ֽo-bek֥or 'e֛z lo֥ tipedּe֖h qo֣deshsh he֑m 'et-dּama֞m tּizero֤q 'al-hamּizebּe֨cha֙ ve'et-chelebּa֣m tּaqeti֔yr 'ishshּe֛h lere֥ycha niycho֖cha laֽyhvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"But you must not redeem the firstborn of a cow, a sheep or a goat; they are holy. Splash their blood against the altar and burn their fat as a food offering, a pleasant aroma to the LORD.

אַ֣ךְ בְּֽכוֹר־שׁ֡וֹר אֽוֹ־בְכ֨וֹר כֶּ֜שֶׂב אֽוֹ־בְכ֥וֹר עֵ֛ז לֹ֥א תִפְדֶּ֖ה קֹ֣דֶשׁ הֵ֑ם אֶת־דָּמָ֞ם תִּזְרֹ֤ק עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ וְאֶת־חֶלְבָּ֣ם תַּקְטִ֔יר אִשֶּׁ֛ה לְרֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַֽיהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ubeshsara֖m yiheyeh-lּa֑ke kּachaze֧h hatּenupa֛h ukeshsh֥oq hayּami֖yn leka֥ yiheyeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Their meat is to be yours, just as the breast of the wave offering and the right thigh are yours.

וּבְשָׂרָ֖ם יִהְיֶה־לָּ֑ךְ כַּחֲזֵ֧ה הַתְּנוּפָ֛ה וּכְשׁ֥וֹק הַיָּמִ֖ין לְךָ֥ יִהְיֶֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּo֣l ׀ tּerumo֣t haqּodashshi֗ym 'ashshe֨r yari֥ymu beneֽy-yishsera'el֮ laֽyhvah֒ nata֣tּiֽy leka֗ ulebane֧yka velibenote֛yka 'itּeka֖ lechaq-'ola֑m bּeriyt֩ me֨lach 'ola֥m hiv'֙ lipene֣y yehva֔h leka֖ ulezare'aka֥ 'itּaֽke׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Whatever is set aside from the holy offerings the Israelites present to the LORD I give to you and your sons and daughters as your perpetual share. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the LORD for both you and your offspring."

כֹּ֣ל ׀ תְּרוּמֹ֣ת הַקֳּדָשִׁ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָרִ֥ימוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ לַֽיהוָה֒ נָתַ֣תִּֽי לְךָ֗ וּלְבָנֶ֧יךָ וְלִבְנֹתֶ֛יךָ אִתְּךָ֖ לְחָק־עוֹלָ֑ם בְּרִית֩ מֶ֨לַח עוֹלָ֥ם הִוא֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה לְךָ֖ וּלְזַרְעֲךָ֥ אִתָּֽךְ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֨'mer yehva֜h 'eֽl-'aharo֗n bּe'aretzam֙ lo֣ tinecha֔l veche֕leq lo'-yiheye֥h leka֖ bּetoka֑m 'ani֤y cheleqeka֙ venachala֣teka֔ bּet֖oke bּene֥y yishsera'eֽl׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The LORD said to Aaron, "You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֗ן בְּאַרְצָם֙ לֹ֣א תִנְחָ֔ל וְחֵ֕לֶק לֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֖ בְּתוֹכָ֑ם אֲנִ֤י חֶלְקְךָ֙ וְנַחֲלָ֣תְךָ֔ בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): velibene֣y levi֔y hinּe֥h nata֛tּiy kּal-mֽa'ashse֥r bּeyishsera'e֖l lenachala֑h che֤lep 'aboֽdatam֙ 'ashsher-he֣m 'oֽbedi֔ym 'et-'aboda֖t 'o֥hel mo'eֽd׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the Tent of Meeting.

וְלִבְנֵ֣י לֵוִ֔י הִנֵּ֥ה נָתַ֛תִּי כָּל־מַֽעֲשֵׂ֥ר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְנַחֲלָ֑ה חֵ֤לֶף עֲבֹֽדָתָם֙ אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֣ם עֹֽבְדִ֔ים אֶת־עֲבֹדַ֖ת אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): velo'-yiqereb֥u '֛od bּene֥y yishsera'e֖l 'el-'o֣hel mo'e֑d lashse֥'t che֖te lamֽut׃

Edified Edition (EDE)From now on the Israelites must not go near the Tent of Meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and die.

וְלֹא־יִקְרְב֥וּ ע֛וֹד בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד לָשֵׂ֥את חֵ֖טְא לָמֽוּת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'aba֨d halּevi֜y h֗u 'et-'abodat֙ 'o֣hel mo'e֔d vehe֖m yishse'֣u 'avona֑m chuqּa֤t 'olam֙ ledoro֣teyke֔m ubetoke֙ bּene֣y yishsera'e֔l lo֥ yinechal֖u nachalaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)It is the Levites who are to do the work at the Tent of Meeting and bear the responsibility for any offences they commit against it. This is a lasting regulation for the generations to come. They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites.

וְעָבַ֨ד הַלֵּוִ֜י ה֗וּא אֶת־עֲבֹדַת֙ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד וְהֵ֖ם יִשְׂא֣וּ עֲוֺנָ֑ם חֻקַּ֤ת עוֹלָם֙ לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם וּבְתוֹךְ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹ֥א יִנְחֲל֖וּ נַחֲלָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֞y 'et-ma'eshsa֣r bּeneֽy-yishsera'e֗l 'ashshe֨r yari֤ymu lֽayhvah֙ tּeruma֔h nata֥tּiy laleviyּi֖m lenachala֑h 'al-kּen֙ 'ama֣retּiy lahe֔m bּetoke֙ bּene֣y yishsera'e֔l lo֥ yinechal֖u nachalaֽh׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the LORD. That is why I said concerning them: 'They will have no inheritance among the Israelites.' "

כִּ֞י אֶת־מַעְשַׂ֣ר בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָרִ֤ימוּ לַֽיהוָה֙ תְּרוּמָ֔ה נָתַ֥תִּי לַלְוִיִּ֖ם לְנַחֲלָ֑ה עַל־כֵּן֙ אָמַ֣רְתִּי לָהֶ֔ם בְּתוֹךְ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹ֥א יִנְחֲל֖וּ נַחֲלָֽה׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r yehva֖h 'el-moshshe֥h lּe'moֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The LORD said to Moses,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'el-haleviyּi֣m tּedabּer֮ ve'amaretּa֣ 'alehem֒ kּiֽy-ti֠qechu me'e֨t bּeneֽy-yishsera'e֜l 'et-haֽmּa'ashse֗r 'ashshe֨r nata֧tּiy lake֛m me'itּa֖m bּenachalateke֑m vaharemote֤m mimּe֨nּu֙ tּeruma֣t yehva֔h ma'ashse֖r min-haֽmּa'ashseֽr׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Speak to the Levites and say to them: 'When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the LORD’s offering.

וְאֶל־הַלְוִיִּ֣ם תְּדַבֵּר֮ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶם֒ כִּֽי־תִ֠קְחוּ מֵאֵ֨ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אֶת־הַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֧תִּי לָכֶ֛ם מֵאִתָּ֖ם בְּנַחֲלַתְכֶ֑ם וַהֲרֵמֹתֶ֤ם מִמֶּ֨נּוּ֙ תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה מַעֲשֵׂ֖ר מִן־הַֽמַּעֲשֵֽׂר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): venecheshsha֥b lake֖m tּerumateke֑m kּadּagan֙ min-hagּo֔ren vekaֽmele'a֖h min-hayּaֽqeb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Your offering will be reckoned to you as grain from the threshing floor or juice from the winepress.

וְנֶחְשַׁ֥ב לָכֶ֖ם תְּרוּמַתְכֶ֑ם כַּדָּגָן֙ מִן־הַגֹּ֔רֶן וְכַֽמְלֵאָ֖ה מִן־הַיָּֽקֶב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּe֣n tּari֤ymu gam-'atּem֙ tּeruma֣t yehva֔h mikּol֙ ma'eshsero֣teyke֔m 'ashshe֣r tּiqech֔u me'e֖t bּene֣y yishsera'e֑l unetatּe֤m mimּe֨nּu֙ 'et-tּeruma֣t yehva֔h le'aharo֖n hakּoheֽn׃

Edified Edition (EDE)In this way you also will present an offering to the LORD from all the tithes you receive from the Israelites. From these tithes you must give the LORD’s portion to Aaron the priest.

כֵּ֣ן תָּרִ֤ימוּ גַם־אַתֶּם֙ תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה מִכֹּל֙ מַעְשְׂרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּקְח֔וּ מֵאֵ֖ת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּנְתַתֶּ֤ם מִמֶּ֨נּוּ֙ אֶת־תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה לְאַהֲרֹ֖ן הַכֹּהֵֽן׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): mikּol֙ matּeno֣teyke֔m tּari֕ymu 'e֖t kּal-tּeruma֣t yehva֑h mikּal-chelebּ֔o 'eֽt-miqedּeshsh֖o mimּeֽnּu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)You must present as the LORD’s portion the best and holiest part of everything given to you.'

מִכֹּל֙ מַתְּנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם תָּרִ֕ימוּ אֵ֖ת כָּל־תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה מִכָּל־חֶלְבּ֔וֹ אֶֽת־מִקְדְּשׁ֖וֹ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'amaretּa֖ 'alehe֑m bּahariֽymeke֤m 'et-chelebּo֙ mimּe֔nּu venecheshshab֙ laleviyּi֔m kּitebu'a֥t gּo֖ren vekitebu'a֥t yaֽqeb׃

Edified Edition (EDE)"Say to the Levites: 'When you present the best part, it will be reckoned to you as the produce of the threshing floor or the winepress.

וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם בַּהֲרִֽימְכֶ֤ם אֶת־חֶלְבּוֹ֙ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְנֶחְשַׁב֙ לַלְוִיִּ֔ם כִּתְבוּאַ֥ת גֹּ֖רֶן וְכִתְבוּאַ֥ת יָֽקֶב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): va'akaletּe֤m 'oto֙ bּekal-maq֔om 'atּe֖m ubeֽyteke֑m kּiֽy-shsaka֥r hu'֙ lake֔m che֥lep 'aboֽdateke֖m bּe'o֥hel mo'eֽd׃

Edified Edition (EDE)You and your households may eat the rest of it anywhere, for it is your wages for your work at the Tent of Meeting.

וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם אֹתוֹ֙ בְּכָל־מָק֔וֹם אַתֶּ֖ם וּבֵֽיתְכֶ֑ם כִּֽי־שָׂכָ֥ר הוּא֙ לָכֶ֔ם חֵ֥לֶף עֲבֹֽדַתְכֶ֖ם בְּאֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veloֽ'-tishse'֤u 'alayv֙ che֔te bּahariֽymeke֥m 'et-chelebּ֖o mimּe֑nּu ve'et-qadeshshe֧y beney-yishsera'e֛l lo֥ techalּel֖u velo֥ tamֽutu׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)By presenting the best part of it you will not be guilty in this matter; then you will not defile the holy offerings of the Israelites, and you will not die.' "

וְלֹֽא־תִשְׂא֤וּ עָלָיו֙ חֵ֔טְא בַּהֲרִֽימְכֶ֥ם אֶת־חֶלְבּ֖וֹ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וְאֶת־קָדְשֵׁ֧י בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לֹ֥א תְחַלְּל֖וּ וְלֹ֥א תָמֽוּתוּ׃פ
