Edified Edition (EDE)The LORD spoke to Moses in the Sinai wilderness during the first month of the second year after they had left Egypt. He said:

2
Phonetic (Hebrew): veya'ashs֧u beney-yishsera'e֛l 'et-hapּa֖sach bּemo'adֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"The Israelites must celebrate the Passover at its appointed time.

4
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r moshshe֛h 'el-bּene֥y yishsera'e֖l la'ashso֥t hapּaֽsach׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover,

5
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa'ashs֣u 'et-hapּe֡sach bּari'shsh֡on bּe'arebּa'ah֩ 'ashsa֨r y֥om lacho֛deshsh bּe֥yn ha'arebּa֖yim bּemidebּa֣r siyna֑y kּe֠kol 'ashshe֨r tziua֤h yehvah֙ 'et-moshshe֔h kּe֥n 'ashs֖u bּene֥y yishsera'eֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)However, some men were ceremonially unclean because they had touched a dead body, so they could not celebrate the Passover that day. They came to Moses and Aaron that same day

Edified Edition (EDE)and said, "We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be prevented from bringing the LORD’s offering at the appointed time with the rest of the Israelites?"

9
