Chapter 123

Phonetic (Hebrew): shshi֗yr haֽmּa֫'al֥ot 'e֭leyka nashsa֣'tiy 'et-'eyna֑y ha֝yּoshshebi֗y bּashshּamaֽyim׃

Edified Edition (EDE)I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven.

שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אֵ֭לֶיךָ נָשָׂ֣אתִי אֶת־עֵינַ֑י הַ֝יֹּשְׁבִ֗י בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): hinּe֨h ke'eyne֪y 'abadi֡ym 'el-ya֤d 'aֽdoneyhe֗m kּe'eyne֣y shshipechah֮ 'el-ya֪d gּebi֫retּa֥hּ kּe֣n 'e֭yneynu 'el-yehva֣h 'elohe֑ynu 'a֝֗d shsheyּechanּeֽnu׃

Edified Edition (EDE)As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female servant look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy.

הִנֵּ֨ה כְעֵינֵ֪י עֲבָדִ֡ים אֶל־יַ֤ד אֲֽדוֹנֵיהֶ֗ם כְּעֵינֵ֣י שִׁפְחָה֮ אֶל־יַ֪ד גְּבִ֫רְתָּ֥הּ כֵּ֣ן עֵ֭ינֵינוּ אֶל־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ עַ֝֗ד שֶׁיְּחָנֵּֽנוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): chanּe֣nu yehva֣h chanּe֑nu kּiֽy-ra֝֗b shsaba֥'enu bֽuz׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.

חָנֵּ֣נוּ יְהוָ֣ה חָנֵּ֑נוּ כִּֽי־רַ֝֗ב שָׂבַ֥עְנוּ בֽוּז׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): rabּat֮ shsaֽbe'ah-lּa֪hּ na֫peshshe֥nu halּa֥'ag hashshּa'ananּi֑ym ha֝bּ֗uz lige'e֥yoniֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant and of contempt from the proud.

רַבַּת֮ שָֽׂבְעָה־לָּ֪הּ נַ֫פְשֵׁ֥נוּ הַלַּ֥עַג הַשַּׁאֲנַנִּ֑ים הַ֝בּ֗וּז לִגְאֵ֥יוֹנִֽים׃
