Chapter 148

Phonetic (Hebrew): ha֥lelu ya֨hּ ׀ haֽlel֣u 'et-ye֭hvah min-hashshּama֑yim hֽa֝lel֗uhu bּamּeromiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights above.

הַ֥לְלוּ יָ֨הּ ׀ הַֽלְל֣וּ אֶת־יְ֭הוָה מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֑יִם הַֽ֝לְל֗וּהוּ בַּמְּרוֹמִֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): hֽalel֥uhu kal-male'aka֑yv haֽ֝lel֗uhu kּal-tzb'v tzeba'aֽyv׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

הַֽלְל֥וּהוּ כָל־מַלְאָכָ֑יו הַֽ֝לְל֗וּהוּ כָּל־צבאו צְבָאָֽיו׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haֽ֭leluhu shshe֣meshsh veyare֑cha ha֝lel֗uhu kּal-kּ֥okebey 'ֽor׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars.

הַֽ֭לְלוּהוּ שֶׁ֣מֶשׁ וְיָרֵ֑חַ הַ֝לְל֗וּהוּ כָּל־כּ֥וֹכְבֵי אֽוֹר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haֽ֭leluhu shsheme֣y hashshּama֑yim ve֝hamּa֗yim 'ashshe֤r ׀ me'a֬l hashshּamaֽyim׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.

הַֽ֭לְלוּהוּ שְׁמֵ֣י הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְ֝הַמַּ֗יִם אֲשֶׁ֤ר ׀ מֵעַ֬ל הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yeֽ֭haֽlelu 'et-shshe֣m yehva֑h kּi֤y h֭u tziua֣h veniberaֽ'u׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Let them praise the name of the LORD, for at his command they were created,

יְֽ֭הַֽלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֤י ה֭וּא צִוָּ֣ה וְנִבְרָֽאוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa'amiyde֣m la'a֣d le'ola֑m chaq-na֝ta֗n velo֣ ya'abֽor׃

Edified Edition (EDE)and he established them for ever and ever, he issued a decree that will never pass away.

וַיַּעֲמִידֵ֣ם לָעַ֣ד לְעוֹלָ֑ם חָק־נָ֝תַ֗ן וְלֹ֣א יַעֲבֽוֹר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haֽlel֣u 'et-ye֭hvah min-ha'a֑retz tּa֝nּiyni֗ym vekal-tּehomֽot׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,

הַֽלְל֣וּ אֶת־יְ֭הוָה מִן־הָאָ֑רֶץ תַּ֝נִּינִ֗ים וְכָל־תְּהֹמֽוֹת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): e֣shsh u֭barad shshe֣leg veqiyt֑or r֥ucha se֝'ara֗h 'oshsa֥h debarֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding,

אֵ֣שׁ וּ֭בָרָד שֶׁ֣לֶג וְקִיט֑וֹר ר֥וּחַ סְ֝עָרָ֗ה עֹשָׂ֥ה דְבָרֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): hehari֥ym vekal-gּeba'֑ot 'e֥tz pּe֝ri֗y vekal-'araziֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)you mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars,

הֶהָרִ֥ים וְכָל־גְּבָע֑וֹת עֵ֥ץ פְּ֝רִ֗י וְכָל־אֲרָזִֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haֽchayּa֥h vekal-bּehema֑h re֝֗meshs vetzipּ֥or kּanaֽp׃

Edified Edition (EDE)wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds,

הַֽחַיָּ֥ה וְכָל־בְּהֵמָ֑ה רֶ֝֗מֶשׂ וְצִפּ֥וֹר כָּנָֽף׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): malekey-'e֭retz vekal-le'umּi֑ym shsa֝ri֗ym vekal-shsho֥petey 'aֽretz׃

Edified Edition (EDE)kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth,

מַלְכֵי־אֶ֭רֶץ וְכָל־לְאֻמִּ֑ים שָׂ֝רִ֗ים וְכָל־שֹׁ֥פְטֵי אָֽרֶץ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּachuri֥ym vegam-bּetul֑ot ze֝qeni֗ym 'im-ne'arֽiym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)young men and women, old men and children.

בַּחוּרִ֥ים וְגַם־בְּתוּל֑וֹת זְ֝קֵנִ֗ים עִם־נְעָרִֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yehalel֤u ׀ 'et-shshe֬m yehva֗h kּiֽy-nishsegּa֣b shshem֣o lebadּ֑o h֝od֗o 'al-'e֥retz veshshamaֽyim׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his splendour is above the earth and the heavens.

יְהַלְל֤וּ ׀ אֶת־שֵׁ֬ם יְהוָ֗ה כִּֽי־נִשְׂגָּ֣ב שְׁמ֣וֹ לְבַדּ֑וֹ ה֝וֹד֗וֹ עַל־אֶ֥רֶץ וְשָׁמָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֤rem qe֨ren ׀ le'amּ֡o tּehilּa֤h leֽkal-chasiyda֗yv libene֣y yi֭shsera'el 'aֽm-qerob֗o haֽlelu-yaֽhּ׃

Edified Edition (EDE)And he has raised up for his people a horn, the praise of all his faithful servants, of Israel, the people close to his heart. Praise the LORD.

וַיָּ֤רֶם קֶ֨רֶן ׀ לְעַמּ֡וֹ תְּהִלָּ֤ה לְֽכָל־חֲסִידָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֣י יִ֭שְׂרָאֵל עַֽם־קְרֹב֗וֹ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃
