Chapter 149

Phonetic (Hebrew): ha֥lelu ya֨hּ ׀ shshi֣yru laֽ֭yhvah shshi֣yr chada֑shsh tּe֝hilּat֗o bּiqeha֥l chasiydiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.

הַ֥לְלוּ יָ֨הּ ׀ שִׁ֣ירוּ לַֽ֭יהוָה שִׁ֣יר חָדָ֑שׁ תְּ֝הִלָּת֗וֹ בִּקְהַ֥ל חֲסִידִֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yishsema֣ch yishsera'e֣l bּe'oshsa֑yv bּeneֽy-tzi֝yּ֗on yagi֥ylu bemalekּaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.

יִשְׂמַ֣ח יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל בְּעֹשָׂ֑יו בְּנֵֽי־צִ֝יּ֗וֹן יָגִ֥ילוּ בְמַלְכָּֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yehaֽlel֣u shshem֣o bemach֑ol bּeto֥p ve֝kinּ֗or yezamּeru-lֽo׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.

יְהַֽלְל֣וּ שְׁמ֣וֹ בְמָח֑וֹל בְּתֹ֥ף וְ֝כִנּ֗וֹר יְזַמְּרוּ־לֽוֹ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּiֽy-rotze֣h yehva֣h bּe'amּ֑o yepa'e֥r 'a֝navi֗ym bּiyshshu'aֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

כִּֽי־רוֹצֶ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה בְּעַמּ֑וֹ יְפָאֵ֥ר עֲ֝נָוִ֗ים בִּישׁוּעָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ya'elez֣u chasiydi֣ym bּekab֑od ye֝ranּen֗u 'al-mishshekּebotaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Let his faithful people rejoice in this honour and sing for joy on their beds.

יַעְלְז֣וּ חֲסִידִ֣ים בְּכָב֑וֹד יְ֝רַנְּנ֗וּ עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): romem֣ot 'e֭l bּigerona֑m veche֖reb pּiֽypiyּ֣ot bּeyadaֽm׃

Edified Edition (EDE)May the high praises of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,

רוֹמְמ֣וֹת אֵ֭ל בִּגְרוֹנָ֑ם וְחֶ֖רֶב פִּֽיפִיּ֣וֹת בְּיָדָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): la'ashs֣ot ne֭qamah bּagּoyi֑m tּֽ֝okecho֗t bּal-'umּiֽym׃

Edified Edition (EDE)to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,

לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת נְ֭קָמָה בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם תּֽ֝וֹכֵחֹ֗ת בַּל־אֻמִּֽים׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): le'eso֣r malekeyhe֣m bּeziqּi֑ym ve֝nikebּedeyhe֗m bּekabele֥y barezeֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,

לֶאְסֹ֣ר מַלְכֵיהֶ֣ם בְּזִקִּ֑ים וְ֝נִכְבְּדֵיהֶ֗ם בְּכַבְלֵ֥י בַרְזֶֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): la'ashs֤ot bּahe֨m ׀ mishshepּa֬t kּat֗ub hada֣r h֭u lekal-chasiyda֗yv haֽlelu-yaֽhּ׃

Edified Edition (EDE)to carry out the sentence written against them, this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD.

לַעֲשׂ֤וֹת בָּהֶ֨ם ׀ מִשְׁפָּ֬ט כָּת֗וּב הָדָ֣ר ה֭וּא לְכָל־חֲסִידָ֗יו הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃
