Chapter 5

Phonetic (Hebrew): lamenatzּe֥cha 'eֽl-hanּechiyl֗ot mizem֥or ledaviֽd׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my sighing.

לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ אֶֽל־הַנְּחִיל֗וֹת מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): amara֖y ha'azi֥ynah ׀ yehva֗h bּi֣ynah hagiֽygiy׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Hearken to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to you will I pray.

אֲמָרַ֖י הַאֲזִ֥ינָה ׀ יְהוָ֗ה בִּ֣ינָה הֲגִֽיגִי׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haqeshshi֤ybah ׀ leq֬ol shshave'i֗y malekּi֥y ve'loha֑y kּiֽy-'e֝le֗yka 'etepּalּaֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)My voice you shall hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning I will direct my prayer to you and will look up.

הַקְשִׁ֤יבָה ׀ לְק֬וֹל שַׁוְעִ֗י מַלְכִּ֥י וֵאלֹהָ֑י כִּֽי־אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ אֶתְפַּלָּֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yeֽhva֗h bּo֭qer tּishshema֣ qoli֑y bּo֥qer 'eֽ'erake-le֝ka֗ va'atzapּeֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)For you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with you.

יְֽהוָ֗ה בֹּ֭קֶר תִּשְׁמַ֣ע קוֹלִ֑י בֹּ֥קֶר אֶֽעֱרָךְ־לְ֝ךָ֗ וַאֲצַפֶּֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֤y ׀ lo֤ 'eֽl-chape֘tz re֥shsha ׀ 'a֑tּah lo֖ yegureka֣ raֽ'׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The arrogant shall not stand in your sight; you hate all workers of iniquity.

כִּ֤י ׀ לֹ֤א אֵֽל־חָפֵ֘ץ רֶ֥שַׁע ׀ אָ֑תָּה לֹ֖א יְגֻרְךָ֣ רָֽע׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): loֽ'-yiteyatzּeb֣u hֽ֭oleliym lene֣ged 'eyne֑yka shsa֝ne֗'ta kּal-pּo֥'aley 'aֽven׃

Edified Edition (EDE)You shall destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

לֹֽא־יִתְיַצְּב֣וּ הֽ֭וֹלְלִים לְנֶ֣גֶד עֵינֶ֑יךָ שָׂ֝נֵ֗אתָ כָּל־פֹּ֥עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): tּe'abּed֮ dּobere֪y ka֫za֥b 'iyshsh-dּami֥ym umirema֗h yeta֘'e֥b ׀ yehvaֽh׃

Edified Edition (EDE)But as for me, I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy; and in your fear I will worship toward your holy temple.

תְּאַבֵּד֮ דֹּבְרֵ֪י כָ֫זָ֥ב אִישׁ־דָּמִ֥ים וּמִרְמָ֗ה יְתָ֘עֵ֥ב ׀ יְהוָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): va'ani֗y bּero֣b cha֭sedּeka 'ab֣o beyte֑ka 'eshshetּachave֥h 'el-hֽeykal-qa֝deshsheka֗ bּeyire'ateֽka׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before my face.

וַאֲנִ֗י בְּרֹ֣ב חַ֭סְדְּךָ אָב֣וֹא בֵיתֶ֑ךָ אֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֥ה אֶל־הֵֽיכַל־קָ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ בְּיִרְאָתֶֽךָ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yehva֤h ׀ neche֬niy betzideqate֗ka lema֥'an shshorera֑y hvshr hayeshsha֖r lepana֣y dּarekּeֽka׃

Edified Edition (EDE)For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue.

יְהוָ֤ה ׀ נְחֵ֬נִי בְצִדְקָתֶ֗ךָ לְמַ֥עַן שׁוֹרְרָ֑י הושר הַיְשַׁ֖ר לְפָנַ֣י דַּרְכֶּֽךָ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֤y 'e֪yn bּepi֡yhu nekonah֮ qirebּa֪m ha֫u֥ot qeֽber-pּat֥ucha gּerona֑m le֝shshona֗m yachaliֽyqun׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Declare them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own counsels. Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.

כִּ֤י אֵ֪ין בְּפִ֡יהוּ נְכוֹנָה֮ קִרְבָּ֪ם הַ֫וּ֥וֹת קֶֽבֶר־פָּת֥וּחַ גְּרוֹנָ֑ם לְ֝שׁוֹנָ֗ם יַחֲלִֽיקוּן׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): haֽ'ashshiyme֨m ׀ 'eֽlohi֗ym yipּelu֮ miֽmּo'atz֪ote֫yhe֥m bּero֣b pּi֭shshe'eyhem hadּiyche֑mo kּiy-ma֥ru baֽke׃

Edified Edition (EDE)But let all those who put their trust in you rejoice; let them ever shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you.

הַֽאֲשִׁימֵ֨ם ׀ אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים יִפְּלוּ֮ מִֽמֹּעֲצ֪וֹתֵ֫יהֶ֥ם בְּרֹ֣ב פִּ֭שְׁעֵיהֶם הַדִּיחֵ֑מוֹ כִּי־מָ֥רוּ בָֽךְ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veyishsemech֨u kal-ch֪osey ba֡ke le'ola֣m ye֭ranּenu vetase֣ke 'ale֑ymo veֽya'eletz֥u be֝ka֗ 'ohabe֥y shshemeֽka׃

Edified Edition (EDE)For you, LORD, will bless the righteous; with favour you will surround him as with a shield.

וְיִשְׂמְח֨וּ כָל־ח֪וֹסֵי בָ֡ךְ לְעוֹלָ֣ם יְ֭רַנֵּנוּ וְתָסֵ֣ךְ עָלֵ֑ימוֹ וְֽיַעְלְצ֥וּ בְ֝ךָ֗ אֹהֲבֵ֥י שְׁמֶֽךָ׃

כִּֽי־אַתָּה֮ תְּבָרֵ֪ךְ צַ֫דִּ֥יק יְהוָ֑ה כַּ֝צִּנָּ֗ה רָצ֥וֹן תַּעְטְרֶֽנּוּ׃
